The room looked and smelled like it hadn't been updated since sometime in the 1980's. The advertising states free WiFi....well, you can try and connect to it, and if you're lucky, it will connect for about 15 seconds. Then if you try and reconnect you get an assortment of error messages including "incorrect password," "network cannot be found," etc. The beds are not made up every day. I am not talking about changing the linens (there is a $20 charge for change of linens if you request it.) I am talking about straightening and placing the bedspread and pillows neatly on the bed. They throw the covers back on the bed and just slap the pillows on top of the covers. The area directly across the street that you see on the picture of the place is totally uncared for. There are stairs and a bench, if you can find it among the weeds and the assoerted trash left on the bench. I get that the lake is high and there is no sandy area to speak of, but clean up what you have so someone can at least sit on the bench and look out at the water. This is what I get for a last minute decision to go to Leelanau. As stated in the title, it is a good central location for the peninsula, if that is what is most important to you. Never again here for us.
Unkempt property with dirty outer building, stoop to room, and unnweeded supposed flower beds. The inside wasn't too bad looking and the bed was comfy. Aside from that, they couldn't replace the tissues (there were 3 left in the box when we arrived), and there was only 1 packet of coffee and 1 sweetener the first day and they never replaced it or cleaned the coffee pot or area. There were 2 beds but they only made one! All in all, you can find much better lodging!
If you want a 5 star hotel in this area in high season, you’re looking at $300 a night. For $159 midweek we found this gem between Traverse City and Sutton’s Bay, just a few minutes from each destination. Impeccably clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious rooms with full kitchens including dishes, flatware, coffee pot and supplies. Our only wish is that they would install bug lights over the outside doors in place of standard bulbs so we would not have to fight with the army of flying insects attracted to the light to see who can get inside the fastest. We would absolutely return.
Kevin and his team could not be more accommodating to us arranging three rooms for a family event over three days. It was a very stressful time for our family but having the comfy cozy clean rooms of M-22 in Sutton’s Bay made it all easier. The rooms were CLEAN...not just maintained. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the location so close to Sutton’s Bay center was super convenient. The view of the sunrise each morning was great. I would imagine this place would be great as a summer rental as well. Keep up the good work, Kevin!
Nice little place across from the bay. The room was nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the girl at the front desk was really friendly. The mini kitchen with microwave and refrigerator freezer was nice to have. It’s just out of town and close to a lot of wine vineyards. The room was nice and quiet. We will definitely be going back 😁
I expected a cabin...booking.com had said that's what it was...it isnt. It's a motel right across from the bay. Traffic is high...but,definitely a nice place&convenient location. I had also went during off season...so,it wasnt busy. Which was much more relaxing.
Will be back, wonderful girls trip. Very clean and peaceful. The owner is such a cool person. A beautiful view of the lake from your front door. Short drive to several beaches. Miny fridge in the rooms, new carpets. Would also be great for a romantic getaway.
We were in Sutton’s Bay to visit and it was too late to return home safely so we’d booked this room on the recommendation of our friend. It was perfect for us. It was really cold out so being able to park right outside our door helped. It was a large room with two double or queen beds and a table and a whole kitchen. We were pleased with the amount of space and the cleanliness. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. And not too far to town. It felt like a shelter in the best sense of the word.
Family live in the area and ran out of room so we booked M22 as they were the closest motel and the only one that had a room. So plan as much in advance if visiting that beautiful area. Easy booking and easy checking in and out. Inn keeper was pleasant and the room was pretty clean. Room was much bigger than we thought it was. Kind of a half kitchen area with plates glasses silverware, 3/4 frig microwave full kitchen sink. Good place for a family vacation to save some money. For a weekend getaway I thought it was overpriced, but location is what it's about.
This is an older motel type of building, directly on the main highway north. It was clean, and the owner/manager was friendly, but not overly so. There was plenty of hot water, but there was some mold on the bathroom ceiling from a leak. There is no food or services nearby, closest is 4 miles away. We had a room with 2 queen beds and a kitchen nook, which we didn't use. The lighting was poor for reading, but otherwise the room was ok. Road noise was very noticeable, must be terrible in summer. The room was expensive for value received. I would not stay here again.
