Great location. Staff were great. Food in the restaurant was also excellent.

It was quaint and clean the staff was very friendly and accommodating

When we made our reservation, there was no information about the construction on site. Furthermore, prior to our arrival, we contacted the Lodge with various inquiries. Again, no one mentioned anything about the ongoing construction right next to the cottage we were going to stay. As soon as we arrived on August 11th and parked our vehicles, we noticed the construction as it was very loud. Every morning, the construction site started work between 6:30 - 7:00am. It was loud and dusty. Our family was not able to rest. we, including our 4-year-old daughter were woken up by the construction noise. The crew was loud; parked their trucks right outside of our windows; and would cough and sneeze and laugh. This was very concerning to us as we took extra precocious in selecting a place for our vacation this summer to get away to a place that was not too crowded. It is for this reason we boked a cottage, so we did not have to share with strangers. So, to drive over four hours and pay a premium rate hoping to stay in a peaceful, secluded area, only to discover upon arrival that there is a construction right next door was a very unpleasant surprise. Otherwise, the Lodge staff was amazing. They were very friendly and accommodating.

Always clean, always relaxing and always an amazing place to stay.

The hotel and rooms are always clean and staff is amazing.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom cottages. The spacious accommodations were quiet and comfortable. Screened windows admitted cool Michigan breezes. The lodge is located close to Lelands small but attractive downtown and within walking distance of Lake Michigan and the Fishtown docks. The restaurant is quite good and the bar is a nice place to hang out after dark. We'll be back!

Came up for the night and had a great stay. We only stayed for an evening but the place was very comfortable. The breakfast in the restaurant tasted fantastic. I would stay here again.

Our opinion is influenced mainly by several disappointing factors. The location is very good but that's about it. The room was adequate size but cramped. The bed was uncomfortable for me since it had a plasticized cover which made it a sweaty experience for the night. The wall to the adjoining room had a connecting door that allowed us to hear morning conversations of the person in the next room quite clearly, as if she was in our room (earlier than when we wanted to get up). The coffee maker in the room didn't have a filter for the basket, which I needed to get from the desk, and once I got it, found that it was too big. I tried to adapt it but this caused grounds to spill over into the cup- messy and didn't brew well- coffee quite weak (I just poured it into the sink). Breakfast in the AM was an okay blueberry muffin, but you needed to get there early to get one. There is a restaurant on site but Mon-Thurs doesn't open up until 11A for lunch so we had to go down the street to get a more substantial breakfast than the single muffin (allocated at one/person). There is no elevator and all rooms are on the second floor, which would be a problem if you had more weighty luggage for a longer stay (which I would not recommend). It was pricey for what you got.

Thank you for taking the time to write about us. We are the only year round hotel/restaurant/bar in the area and we are glad you had the experience to enjoy it. Our chefs at Bogey's 19th Hole restaurant are amazing.

Thank you for being our guest and for providing feedback about your stay. We are sorry that the neighboring construction was not mentioned at the time of booking and the construction workers began their day earlier than their/our agreed start time. We have since addressed this concern with them. Our sincere apologies that you did not find the peace and quiet you were looking for due to the construction. I am glad to hear that you found our staff to be friendly and accommodating. We hope you will consider another stay with us when you can enjoy the peace and quiet that the Lodge is known for.

Thank you for your feedback and we are so sorry to hear that your expectations were not met during your recent stay with us. We are considering other options for in-room coffee makers to avoid the mess you experienced. The complimentary muffins and coffee in the lobby are a guest favorite and we are sorry if you found that not to be an adequate start to your morning. Our restaurant does close for breakfast in the off season and we are always happy to recommend another local breakfast place. What you share in your feedback is not the normal guest experience so we hope that you would consider another stay with us in the future.
