We were on the first floor. Nice patio and table and chairs. Beautiful view of the lake too. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Close to all the attractions. I would definitely stay there again. Friendly staff.
We usually stay in TC and drive up to Leelanau golf. This is better! The Lodge got us onto the Leland Country Club to golf next door = great. We golfed Manitou and Bahle, both very close. Large, clean room overlooking the golf course. AC worked great. Enjoyed stopping for a delicious cookie to take to the bar for a nightcap = yum.
Not only did I fall in love with the village of Leland, but the Leland Lodge as well. It’s such a wonderful little hotel, family owned and operated and run with such care and attention to detail. I understand well why some folks have been coming here for generations. It’s a beautiful property, in a great location. You can walk to town and harbor, and if you can’t, they will take you there in their golf cart. The rooms are immaculate, beds comfortable, with clean linens and towels. Bathrooms are clean, nice water pressure in the showers. WiFi is solid and stable. Didn’t eat at their restaurant, but it was filled with patrons and smelled great. Muffins and hot coffee are provided for breakfast, and delicious cookies upon check in. Staff are friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay a great one. Wanted to stay even longer here, but needed to move on. Otherwise, I would have stayed even longer. Thank you Leland Lodge, for a wonderful stay.
We tend to like B&Bs, but because we needed a cancellable reservation, we booked here. We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was quite large, very cute and clean! The bathroom is a little small and it would be nice if the dressing area had a door, for the sake of others trying to sleep when someone is getting ready. Staff was very efficient and helpful. Cookies were yummy. The place is expensive, but comparable in price to other places in the area during high season. Within walking distance to everything in Leland and if you don't like to walk, they have bikes to lend.
We were blown away with royal treatment from one of their managers, Tony. In the midst of a huge private party going on in a different section of the lodge, he made the time to start a log fire for us and made sure we were being well taken care of. Truly extraordinary service!
I think this place is better for lunch than dinner. Service is always friendly, and eating on the deck overlooking the golf course during warm weather, is very pleasant. Last dinner was a little overpriced, and not very good. I think we’ll just stick to lunches.
We had a great weekend stay here. Our room was cozy, the staff was friendly and we loved the muffins and cookies at the desk. It's just a short walk down to Fishtown which was nice because we took the ferry over to South Manitou Island for the day, no driving or having to find a parking spot so we were nice and relaxed for our trip. There was a wedding on property but they let us know ahead of time and they did a good job of stopping the music on time. Would definitely stay again.
We take a family vacation every year renting a house in Northern Michigan and come up early and stay here! Customer Service is great, the view is great, accomodations comfortable and if you are here over the 4th, great fireworks at the Country Club about 1,000 feet away!
My first visit to TLL was in 1950, as a five year old. My grandfather brought us here for dinner as we were renting a cottage on Lake Michigan. I fell in love with Leland. I’ve been returning ever since that first visit. My wife (of 52 years) and I began staying here for October weekends in the 70s. We’ve rented the cottages for summer vacations with our family. We’ve entertained our grandchildren here. (A granddaughter’s middle name is “Leeland.”) Since the new owners took over, TLL has been restored to its glory. Thanks to them for bringing this grand old beauty back. Service is wonderful. Restaurant is good. Rooms are clean, spacious and appropriately decorated for this area. The addition of the wine bar is terrific. It is a perfect location for a visit to this incredible area. TLL IS ONCE AGAIN AN AREA GEM.
Spent one night here. This lodge is a piece of history and cool all rolled up into one. The building is old, but super well maintained. It is like stepping back into history. The room we stayed in was not big, but it was clean and comfortable. It was also built in a time when travel was different. A five minute walk and you are at a beach on Lake Leelanau. A 10 minute walk and you are in Leland. The staff was very nice. I am in love with this area. Not one complaint. There are no rooms on the first floor and only stairs to get to the second.
