Great place to stay. Upon arrival. The reception staff were amazing, gave the kids drinks and entertained them. They helped us get settled in our room and were always more than happy to help with any issues or problems we had. All the staff were friendly, always saying hello and smiling and talking to the kids as we walked in or out. The pool was great for the kids, mostly shaded after 3pm which was great for our kids who burn easily. It is situated slightly out of the way, but there are constantly taxis going both directions to nearby towns to restaurants and shops, both of which are also within walking distance. Shuttle bus service to the beach and waterfall were great, only thing we didn't think/know beforehand was the cost of getting into the waterfall. I'd highly recommend this place for families. We ate at the resort restaurant one evening, it was good. Prices slightly higher than local places but that's to be expected. Staff were great and friendly too. Evening entertainer slightly repetitive but fun. If I ever came back to Koh Chang I'd be happy to stay here again.
Amazing resort, for a good price! Loved our stay here. It was the service, the smiles and the respect. The scenery is amazing, and the pools matches everything. Crazy good burgers, had so many. We planned to stay for 2 days, was there 7. And have a massage after a good workout, these ladies knows whats up
At first sight the place and staff seemed lovely, however as our trip continued I found myself becoming more and more let down by staff and facilities. Simple task like ordering a taxi to the pier, we were told to simply "wait by the road" when asked how long that would be they said "could be up to an hour" even though they advertised a free shuttle bus. The western food was disappointing and over priced, they also mention free breakfast which was actually 200 bht a morning.
This resort is very beautiful, set in a fantastic location and the grounds are well maintained. The rooms are lovely as well and you certainly get a good nights sleep in this peaceful environment. The only problem is the lack or organising or will to want to help the visitors. We had problems getting from the hotel to the ferry port being told that we could be waiting on the side of the road for up to an hour because they do not do trips to the ferry, despite the hotel having a large shuttle bus! There was also some missing sports equipment, which they didn't seem too worried about replacing! The buffet style breakfast which isn't included in the price of the hotel is a whopping 200 baht per person (which may seem normal, but the food quality was pretty low) and we waited for 50 mins in their restaurant for a portion of fries and a very burnt pizza, one which was clearly straight from tesco! Overall, it was a lovely looking resort, but somewhere that I probably wouldn't want to stay again.
Stayed this resort for two weeks with family. 3rd time in Koh Chang. I have to say it is one of the nicest resorts I have stayed in. Hotel staff were attentive and friendly. We stayed in the Sittadorn villa for part of the stay and then a villa for the rest of the stay. Facilities were as described clean and comfortable. Complimentary fruit everyday was a nice touch. The resort itself is immaculately kept. Gardens are beautiful the pool is big enough to cope. Massages and gym were great. Free shuttle to the Dewa 10 minute journey and well worth visiting. Beaches were stunning albeit in the wrong season so water not calm enough to swim in but the beaches and scenary more than made up for it. Hotel manager Vikram was great. This man makes every effort to ensure your stay is as it should be. He went over and above in ensuring that everything from breakfast to dinner in the restuarant was spot on often serving people himself and ensuring his staff were attentive to customer needs. Taken a long time to write the review for which I apologise as I cannot speak highly enough of both him and his staff. The hotel itself is located in a quiet part of Koh Chang. I stayed at the Aanna resort which is located around the corner from this resort however visiting this again for dinner I was disappointed with the service. You simply cannot get away with poor service and this is something Mr Vikram and his staff are right up there on. Great value, great staff and beautiful resort. I will no doubt return. Vikram thank you again to you and your staff and keep up the great management and work.
I visited Koh Chang many times over the past 20 years and have just found this place. If you look for a well kept resort with good service, a good pool and a good location then look no further. I will definitely return to Ramayana resort.
The staff was very helpful and polite. Loved the pool. The only improvement we can think of was the re-fill of used bathroom products and laundry bags. We needed to call and ask for the laundry bags every time we wanted to use the service. Otherwise, the resort was perfect for us.
The original bungalows are now more than 10 (?) years old and definitely need to be freshened up. Rooms are nice and spacious but worn out, the TV set was from "the old days". wi-if ok. Bathroom not very nice, lots of dusty wood that also has been dented by the water. The shower part is a disaster, with mould, grime and rust, we wouldn't use the shower curtain because it was so worn out and dirty, but unfortunately we had to use the shower area. I recommend the hotel as such, pool is nice and the pool area is washed vigorously every morning :-), while the bathroom is neglected.
Spent 3 days here. As per the other reviews: facility a bit outdated (air conditioning, room safe, wall sockets no longer up to date). Restaurant was nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fortunately we had a car available, otherwise mobility would have been limited.
I booked a double and a twin room, when we got to the hotel they told us our room had been upgraded to the family room. We were happy at the beginning, but too many mosquitos, my family couldn't sleep well , and I got a huge bite. The second day the maid gave us the mosquito net which helped a lot. The Mosquitos mainly come from the gap between the wooden floor. We stay there 4 nights. The family room is special, but I thin kong night is enough, we didn't bother to change. The stuffs were quite nice, I've been thinking of staying this resort again, but not in the family room.
