We booked this hotel as a 4* luxury break, how wrong could you be! This hotel is more like a 1*, the pool was out of action and looked like a building site, the linen on the beds was completely crumpled, leading you to wonder if it was actually clean. The Spa, was falling apart, all the mosaic tilling was broken with large areas completely missing, the pool water was cloudy, the floor in the sauna was disgusting, a breeding ground for disease. The whole hotel is extremely tired and shabby it needs a lot of work doing to it to bring it back to legitimately being a 4* again.
Good size room, balcony, large bathroom.. Plenty of storage although short on hangers. Good lighting. Lovely pool area. Excellent staff. Jacob, Pietro, Danielle and Francisco looked after us very well. Good hotel if you want to just chill by the pool, but surrounding area unlovely. Rubbish strewn including a dead cat that was there when we arrived and still there when we left. Excellent pizza and pasta restaurant nearby, great food at very reasonable prices.
The hotel is adequate, the rooms need "refreshing" with paint and new carpet. The lovely pool was not filled with water when we were there in April... too cold, they said. The hotel is outside of town so it's not easy to walk to sights and restaurants. The hotel restaurant was a bit strange... perhaps it was because we were there in the "off season" but most of the time we were the only ones in a huge dining room. The staff was pleasant and helpful, but if I were to go to Mazara del Vallo again I would chose to stay in the town.
The Visir is an off the beaten track hotel with lovely grounds to walk around in. There's a gorgeous swimming pool available to cool off when the climate is hot and humid. The rooms have an Arabian motif but seems a bit tired - like something out of the 1970's. Our room had a nice balcony but faced the parking lot. The breakfast buffet is pretty standard with the usual fare. This is a nice, affordable place to say if you're in the area touring and it's been a hot day outside.
The Visir looks nice from the outside but the rooms are getting a bit dated. Looks like it might have been a nice hotel at an earlier time. The pool looks great but the water was very cold so I didn't venture in. The location is off the beaten path and only one significant restaurant is nearby but wouldn't want to walk to it at night because no sidewalks. Our hot water worked irregularly and I ended up having to take cold showers two of the three mornings we were there. The staff was helpful and the morning breakfast buffet was very nice. The hotel is about 10 minutes from town which is also a disadvantage. The hotel was almost empty during the week but became crowded on the weekend because of people using the extensive spa facilities.
The Visir hotel is just adequate. The rooms are on the small side and the decor is dated. On the plus side, staff is friendly and the food in The dining room was very good. While the amenities sound good, the outdoor pool is very cold and there is a charge to use the indoor pool.
the building is barely marked, it is very private and quiet. it is mostly white in color and has a northern africa feel to it. the dining room is lovely and the food very good. good wifi too the room was very modern and the lighting was not only superb but very innovative.
Positiv was the spacious room (Delux category) and the large bathroom Definitely not a 4 start (Plus?) hotel. A big disappointment for us. Our Deluxe room was large but in poor condition: both carpet and curtain were terribly stained (see picture). If your room neighbor is noisy you will hear every step and word. The balcony overlooked the carpark incl. storage garages in the basement (see picture). The entire hotel needs massive renovation. The exterior area was not usable because of maintenance work. The breakfast room is located in the cellar, has no view and sees hardly any natural light. We knew when we booked that the location was well outside the city center but there is nothing at all of interest within walking distance. A car is mandatory. If we compare the price of 150€/night here with those of our other 2 hotels during our trip, this is by far the worst value for money. I do not understand the positive ratings - there are definitely better hotels available if you are willing to spend this amount of money.
Attractive hotel, helpful and friendly staff. Room very well lit and comfortable and excellent wifi. Well functioning safe, Mini bar/frig, large closets, limited drawers. The bathroom was very, very attractive, all tiled w one wall colorful and the rest white pattern. No bathtubs in any rooms. Bathroom large enough. Small balcony was nice although it was too cold and windy for us to enjoy. Breakfast good, but in a dark room on the lower floor. About 15 min drive from town; 0.5 miles from the beach; boring neighborhood- I would rather have stayed in town but on a tour, so....
Spa onsite. Modern, large rooms. Clean. Helpful reception and staff. Spotty wifi. The power went off and on a lot which caused lights to go on during sleep. Strong breakfast. Shower head bad and no good place for the soap! Overall good experience and I would stay here again. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below.
