No Complaints
Perfect homesbase for our crew of four (2 adults and 2 kids). Do be aware that the upstairs is an open loft and the beds don't have any privacy from each other up there. Wasn't an issue for us as I stayed up top with my own kids. My dad got some more privacy in the master bedroom downstairs.
Lovely place to call home base during the week.
Do take the bear warnings seriously. We saw a young one twice in the same day. The first time my dad had opened his car windows for a few minutes and went inside before we left for the day. I then found the bear in his car looking for snacks a short time later. Later that same day we saw him poking around on the neighbors front porch. Definitely leave your car windows up at all times, especially if you have any food or snacks in there.

Great house - great location
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Acadian Cottage near Townsend. The house was very comfortable and clean. The back deck was my favorite with a peaceful view down into a wooded ravine. Kitchen was well stocked so we were able to cook breakfasts and a couple of dinners. Previous reviews mentioned the driveway being challenging and it was a little steep but easily manageable with good pavement and plenty of flat parking at the top of the driveway. I would recommend this place to anyone. One thing to note - there is only 1 private bedroom downstairs. Upstairs is an open loft area with 2 queen size beds. My son loved the jacuzzi tub in the lower level bathroom.

New year getaway
Over the stay was great, we saw 3 black bears every single day right off the back deck. The floors could be a little cleaner and could have more pans for the kitchen. We only had one large skillet. Overall good stay!

Peaceful location
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Townsend is a much better spot to access the Smokies for those who don’t enjoy crowds. Other reviews mention the driveway. It is definitely steep! But you can access the top part which is flat (probably only room for one car on the flat spot). The road in front of the house is equally steep. We did cook breakfast in the cabin and wished it had a nonstick skillet instead of cast iron. Coffee was left for us - we didn’t use it, but it was a nice touch.

Great House
My sisters and I made a quick weekend getaway. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the AC worked well. We ate out, so only used the coffee maker in the mornings, but the kitchen looked well stocked to cook should you choose to do so.
The only concern, not a complaint, we had was the driveway. I would have liked to have known how steep the driveway was. It made it a little tricky going in, as there is truly one way to enter, as the exit is definitely too steep to enter. Put your vehicle in low gear and proceed into the second driveway going up the hill. In winter season, any ice or snow would make this difficult or impossible to enter without four/wheel drive. It is a wooded view, not a Mountain View.
