Beautiful clean room spanking new bathroom. Breakfast had a lovely choose and friendly efficient staff. Ample parking and easy to find although off quite a main road it was very quiet at night. Only one thing the back room needed a blackout blind as the lights were left on all night in the walkway below our room!

The history surrounding the hotel adds to its charm and beauty. Upon our arrival we were treated well and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Food is excellent as well. There are creaky floor boards but this adds to the character.

Delishes food and excellent service with friendly and helpful staff. Easy access and child friendly. First time visit, will definitely go again. Really enjoyable and relaxing, didn't feel rushed at all.

What can I say ....Dave, great person to have banter with but on top of that a top guy #Legend Great stay, good service, food and drink. Easy to find after the GP at Silverstone, really glad I booked. Room great, Breakfast great, its a very good place to stay.

My wife and I often use Old Englsh Inns as we are camra members and tend to get good deals. On this occasion we payed £156.00 for two nights with breakfast, well let me tell you it's not a patch on the Royal in Ross-on-Wye, we arrived around 2:30 at reception only to find a notice.....please ring such and such number and someone will be over to see you, WHAT!. Check in was okay and we found our room, the room was clean, tidy and normally what you would expect apart from looking out onto tiled walls that formed part of 3 roofs and as it was warm no cooling air could enter. Enough of the room as it was acceptable, breakfast the first morning there was no one to greet us and no clean tables so my wife sat down at the least dirtiest one and all of a sudden a waitress arrived who preceded to take unused cutlery from a dirty table along with the milk jug and setup our table. I had to pick crumbs (I hope) from the milk jug with a tea spoon before my wife spotted it as all hell could have broke loose, the breakfast was good and plentyful. It's just that of an evening this place turns into bedlam, the barstaff cannot cope, I asked for half a cider and an Irish coffee (I know real ale drinker but the ale on offer was IPA or one brewed especially for Green King)anyway the barman gave me a glass which to me as rather small, when the coffee arrived I challenged him about the size of glass that the cider was poured in , to which he replied "I'm having a bad day" he then took my original half pint glass to which I'd added the second cider and topped it up bought it back to me and spilt most of it over my legs stating that the night was going from bad to worse. Take a leaf from the Royal at Ross, they know how to treat customers. We shall not return here or recommend anyone to either.

if you read my reviews you will notice we stay at many old english inns and although generally good they do vary somewhat. the saracens is definitely up with the best. the welcome by the manager was first class as was all of the staff. the room was of a high standard especially the plumbing..towcester itself is a bit lame but the hotel is excellent thoroughly reccommend

In June a stay of 5 nights.Very friendly welcome by Natasha. We got a really typical English-furnished room that met all our needs.Very nice breakfast in a cozy breakfast room with friendly service. Also the food "a la carte" was very tasty and at acceptable prices as well as the drinks.  Saturday night was a very noisy evening by a music event which we were not aware and not being informed of. After consultation with the very understandable manager Dave this night was deducted from our bill since we were not informed in advance. This is a great service. We will definitely be back. Surely based on the staff and the manager. Roby & Claire  Antwerp-Belgium Verzonden vanaf mijn Samsung Galaxy-smartphone.

I was only using my room for a few hours as part of a business trip. Sadly the room I had was extremely hot, with no way of cooling it down. The small window in the room led to the main road (more on that later) so opening it wasn't an option. In fairness, it was just two days after the hottest day in the UK for nearly 40 years. Back to the main road.. I could her every car go past as if I were on the street, and what was worse, was that every time a truck went by, the whole room shook. The standby light on the TV was a very piercing blue which lit the room up pretty well! I had to drape a short over it so it softened the light! all this together meant I had a terrible nights sleep. On the plus side, the room was clean. I wasn't able to use the dining facilities, but judging by the number of people in the garden, it was a popular spot.

I organised an afternoon tea for a group of people early in June. Julie was really helpful in getting it organised and accommodating our needs. Food was lovely, the home made cakes went down especially well. We had sole use of the Pickwick Room which the hotel did some decorating of for us. Overall a lovely afternoon.

Ok so we have had some good and some avaergae experiences here. Tonight was awful. Decided to take the family here for a quick pub type meal Arrived and ordered food with a round of drinks. 2 rounds later no food Food arrives after an hour Mine is cold Sent back 15 mins later no food. Will arrive in 5 mins say the staff 10 mins later I pay to be told it would have arrived but staff busy with an engineer Refused to pay for food due to ruined experience Manager agrees We leave me not having eaten At the end of the day they were not busy at all, which only means that the staff are rubbish OR they are under staffed. I vote for the later as the guys are really good. Such a shame.
