Crowne Plaza Toulouse

I've stayed at a lot of Crowne Plazas and they're normally pretty good - and the Crowne Plaza Toulouse is exactly the high standard I would expect from this brand. Centrally located, it is easily and quickly reached from the airport by the T2 tram and the metro. Staff are warm and professional. I got a room upgrade (yay!) and the room and bathroom were both a good size, and there was a great selection of toiletries! Bed was very comfortable- as you would expect from a Crowne Plaza. I didn't try the breakfast, but colleagues said it was very good. As part of the upgrade I got access to the "Club lounge" where you can get aperos early evening and continental breakfast in the morning. I didn't try the breakfast but I did try the apero - there is chilled beer and wine and a small selection of cheese and mini-sandwiches. The vibe was a bit too airport lounge for my personal taste but you are right on the Place du Capitole so plenty of good places to wine and dine. Definitely a good hotel choice if you're visiting Toulouse!

The location of the hotel was key for us as tourists. The location couldn’t be better to enable us to stop in to add or remove jackets, umbrellas etc as needed. Shops and restaurants are nearby as well as pharmacy. The club room was worth the extra money. We made use of the the wine and beer during the evening. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the coffee offered the room! The breakfast had ample selection. The front desk was friendly, professional, and spoke English.

This place is at a very good location. Quiet, clean, spacious rooms, awesome staff everything available. What can one ask for when at this hotel. I enjoyed my stay from start to finish. You can walk to any restaurant or to any landmark without problem

Chose this hotel as we were planning to spend a few days in Toulouse. The hotel is in a brilliant location, facing the Capitole square, and is within walking distance of all of the city’s main sights. The desk staff were kind and friendly, even changing one of our rooms at the last minute due to a bed mix-up. The rooms were spacious, with one of ours looking onto the square. However, at night the rooms did get extremely hot, with no option of aircon. This was pretty disappointing and led to a restless nights sleep. Breakfast was good with a range of produce. The gym in the hotel was quite tired, and only the minimal equipment supplied. Overall, I would recommend here to stay, based on its ideal location.

We spent a lovely long Easter weekend at this hotel. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city and you really couldn’t ask for a better location for touring Toulouse. There is a vast selection of restaurants in the immediate area to choose from. Prior to our arrival date we received an e-mail informing us that due to our Spire Elite status we were going to be upgraded when we arrived at the hotel. We were greeted professionaly at check in and were informed that we had been upgraded two levels to a junior suite. Always wonderful to know that your loyalty to the program is indeed rewarded, this is a very important aspect of the program. The room was clean, well appointed and had a seperate seating area with enough room to get comfortable. The linens were fresh and of good quality. The breakfast was good, however, it should have had more fresh fruit available, a selection of non fat or low fat milk should also be added to the offerings as well as eggs cooked to your liking. We did not find it to be a 5 star hotel but a very solid 4 star. The hotel did not have some of the criterea of a 5 star such as turn down service, spa services were not made known to us. It most definately was a very nice hotel, but it did not have a luxury feel to it. We were very happy with our stay at this hotel and would reccomend it. We did have one issue which puzzeled us greatly and that was the following Taxi issue; On March 31, 2018 we arrived at your hotel via a taxi which we took from the airport in Toulouse. The price we paid was €21.50 including 2 small suitcases (please see the attached receipt from this taxi ride). On March 3rd we arranged a tour of the Airbus museum and factory with your concierge Paul. Paul was extremely helpful and had his colleague arrange for a taxi to pick us up at the hotel the following morning and bring us to Airbus which is 4 km from the Toulouse airport. The price for this taxi that the hotel called for us was €47, with absolutely no luggage, (please see the attached receipt from this taxi ride). We were very curious as to why there was such a huge difference (€25.5) for such a similar distance when we didn’t even have any luggage. So, we showed Nicolas at the front desk the receipts on March 3rd and asked him if he knew why this was. He said that the €47. was vastly overpriced and that he would look into it. Upon our check out on March 4th Nicolas was at front desk but did not approach us. We asked that he come over and asked him if he had looked into this issue. He informed us that while the price of the taxi was far too much there was nothing that he could do about it because there was only one taxi company in Toulouse and even if they were overcharging the customers he could do nothing about it. I would like to call to you attention the fact that if you Google taxis in Toulouse you get a very easy 16 taxi companies based there and there could possibly be even more (please see the attached business card for Capitole Taxi which we also used during our stay). Nicolas also informed us that he called the taxi company in question and due to privacy issues they could not tell him who the driver was. He asked us to leave this problem with him. WE asked him to let us know if he could find a reason for this and left him our e-mail details. We have not heard back thus far. We always book with very reputable hotels so that we feel our needs are being looked after in a safe and trustworthy manner. We do feel let down with regard to how we were so blatently overcharged for this taxi which the hotel called for us. NOTE: THE TAXI COMPANY IN QUESTION WAS TAXI TOULOUSE AND NOT CAPITOLE:

Good standard. Friendly and informative reception desk. Although pricey - very well worth it. Internet wifi a bit slow. Room bed sunken giving a bad back after sleep - room 420. Otherwise a pleasant stay. Great location to many conveniences around Capitole.

On the positive side, we had a large room which was very quiet. And of course, the great location directly in the centre is a major plus if you want to explore. The price was adequate for the quality and service standard as the hotel is a nice 4-star business property. If you set expectations at this level, you'll be fine. It is not a 5-star hotel, even if it nearly meets the official French standards. I did not see any of the 'recently renovated' side, and there is no luxury feel to the hotel at all, decor, staff or otherwise. Especially the bathrooms need updating. The location has the downside of driving into the centre (great by public transport though). I recommend to put 'Parking place capitole' in the GPS. If you put the hotel, you overshot the parking and need to do a round in tiny one-way streets.

I was taken here for a surprise overnight birthday treat. The lobby is fairly modern, but once you go upstairs to the rooms, the hotel becomes more dated with the deco. The bedroom was clean and the bathroom also, but very dated. The shower leaked as the glass divider is ill-fitted. The prices of the drinks and snacks in the minibar are ridiculous, as in most hotels. We had a few drinks in the mini bar before heading out for dinner. 50 euros for 6 drinks (beer, wine, gin and tonic...) which is really quite good. A few people did however come (and then leave without being served) to the bar, but the barman had disappeared. Breakfast was good with a good choice of hot and cold drinks, (including Innocent smoothies and organic juices) cheese, meats, cereals, breads, fruits, yogurts, cake, scrambled eggs, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes...

There does not seem to be a lot of "5 star" hotels in Toulouse. The CP seemed to be the closest online. In reality, the hotel is more like a Mecure or less. The room deal offerd upgraded the room with a little more space, and access to the crown lounge. The "Breakfast" was a slim continental which was not replenished, so it was first come first serve. The happy hour and appetizers was no better, with the beer and wine running out by 6pm. The breakfast buffet downstairs was not included although colleagues with smaller rooms got free breakfast. This was nothing compared to most Marriott properties. My mistake in "upgrading" but it was poorly advertised, deceptive, and they only adjusted the bill 10e.

Hotel is centrally located in the Toulouse city center. Great place to explore the downtown area for shopping and dining. Hotel itself is well appointed with comfortable rooms. Did not have a chance to dine at the restaurant but they have a full bar and dining room. The hotel is not very convenient if you are driving a car. It is very difficult to navigate to the hotel and the parking is either expensive or a pain. They offer valet parking which is premium priced but very convenient. There is an underground public parking garage about 1 block away from the hotel. The train which runs to the airport is close by if you elect to skip a car. They have a gym but it is inadequate. I was forced to run outside to get exercise.
