Everything was clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful. What we were not impressed with was the afternoon tea which we had booked for 4pm. The room had only about a dozen customers, most were already served. The man in charge showed us to our table and took our order for tea. I told him we had booked for 4pm and were on time. My husband aged 90 and I sat there waiting for nearly 45 mins and he was feeling physically uncomfortable in the low wrap-around chair. I noticed new people coming in were being served so I went to the service area and asked what the problem was for our service. I was polite. We were served shortly afterwards. All the staff looked a bit harrassed but we had no apology. We did not see this Manager (if that was him) again.

The internet worked well and the room was clean but a bit old fashioned and worn furniture. The fan was very useful. The bed needs to be thrown out as it is too high and far too soft. One falls out of bed because the edges are too soft and the floor is too far down! We had two poor nights sleep!

Great night stay

We had a great 1 night stay at The Imperial Hotel. It was called a cosy room so we were expecting a small room but there was an entrance lobby, bathroom and bedroom. Very comfortable bed and a good location within walking distance of the town

We've stayed at the imperial many times and it's always good. Especially the view across the bay. For a large hotel it's always quiet and peaceful. Food wise, breakfast is very good and although for dinner the food is good, the menu is limited and very samey

Imperial Hotel Torquay

Great stay at the Imperial hotel, amazing views from our huge room, lovely bed and facilities. Bath a little small for taller people. Service from all the staff was great but special mention must go to Kate at reception for really looking after us, and Basia in the restaurant who was brilliant too. We will definitely be back soon.
