This resort gets a lot of mixed reviews and I can see why. On one hand, the staff is very professional and friendly and the resort has breathtaking views. On the other hand, the building need a lot of maintenance and I didn't have cable on my TV. my I got 4 fuzzy, broadcast channels. If you're an adventure traveler or on a budget, this is the place for you. It's not luxury or high end at all. I wouldn't spend more than $60-$70 per night and that's because of the beautiful view. My first night, I decided to order from the restaurant an hour or so before closing. I got a terrible diarrhea shortly after and my toilet wouldn't flush. I had the runs for an hour and had to use the guest toilet while they worked on mine. They never got it fixed so I had to change rooms at 10pm. This was the first night! I never ate dinner their again but I did have breakfast everyday with no complaints. I was in a junior suite but I couldn't get the cable channels to work so I was stuck with broadcast channels. There were only a few and they were fuzzy so I didn't watch. I also had to have maintenance come and turn the bedroom lamps on. The building is clearly old and needs a lot of work and unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they stay on top of it. Just fix it when things break down. As long as you don't expect a luxury experience, it's a nice place to spend a long weekend.

We had a great 2 night getaway! It was off season, so the first night it felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. Excellent service. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were both really really good. Beautiful views. No heater in the room so it was cold at night. We didn’t try using the wood fireplace because we were worried that we'd get too much smoke in the room. Overall the place is looking a little old and rundown (broken tiles, etc). But they keep it very clean. And the ocean views couldn't be better.

Our room was quite nice. The view is stunning. However, it needs upgrading. It was cold in the room even with a fire going. They should put extra blankets and pillows in the closet. There is a one-inch gap under the entrance to the room. I stuffed a towel underneath to keep out the cold. It helped some. The restaurant had very good food and the service was wonderful. Thank you, Jax. The front desk was pleasant and accommodating.

We stayed in oceanview suite with king-sized bed. The room was spacious with gorgeous sweeping views of the ocean. We stayed in early January and it was quite cold but room does not have a heater but does have a fireplace. The first night, we purchased 3 single logs $8 each (the easy lighting ones) from the hotel. The next morning, we went to supermarket and bought bunch of firewood bundles for our remaining two nights. The gym is very sparse with just few pieces of equipment and dumbbell set also limited (didn’t have lighter weights like 5, 10, 15 lbs). The bathroom shower didn’t work very well - I wanted hot water with good water pressure/spray but got more lukewarm water at light spray. The included breakfast was actually very copious and delicious and you can apply credit for another selection, if desired. The staff was courteous, attentive and helpful. In terms of location, you need a car because it’s not located in walkable neighborhood - it is right off highway in front of large Christ Statue which served as nice marker, about 10 minutes north of Puerto Nuevo and 20 minutes south of Rosarito. Plentiful self parking was convenient. Overall, we had a pleasant stay which would have been better had few modern amenities like nice gym, heating, remodeled bathroom been provided.

Las Rocas was overall a nice place to stay, however our restroom had no shower door therefore inconveniently building a puddle of water outside after every shower. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
