The hotel is perfecter than what you want. I would like to give my gratitude to Jenny (work at Lounge), who is professional, warmth and friendly. She makes a good job when I CI and stay. I love this hotel, and it would be my first choice in Tianjin. Go further, Allen who is a tall guy is perfect too.
Having stayed 3 days at their sister hotel in Beijing, which was a great experience, I was looking forward to more of the same but this hotel was a big disappointment. Superficially inviting entrance/lobby area, but it stops there. The room was poorly equipped and did not feel 'clean'. The bathroom was good though, with a lovely big walk in shower. Half equipped mini bar, tea and making facilities - well, the kettle was evident, but had to hunt for cups, coffee and tea sachets' - they were in different places. Never saw that before in any hotel I have ever stayed in. The lifts were very slow and one of them was out of order. My colleague asked to change rooms as his non smoking room reeked of stale tobacco. He was moved from a double bed room to a twin bedded room, but the stale tobacco smell was just as prevalent in that room. He will also not be staying there again. The upside is the location - it's in the heart of town so everything is very accessible and lots of restaurants and bars on the doorstep.
I stayed in room 1913 from September 2-4, that room should've been listed as Out of Order instead of released to guests. Toilet didn't flush and had to call the staff to fix the air conditioning 3 times. Not surprisingly, I didn't get the Medallia survey about my stay. My best bet is my email was either deleted or tampered with so I wouldn't receive the survey and affect the hotel's internal rankings/score. I also wasn't asked how my stay was during checkout, which is standard operating procedure. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and making up to the guest, the front office staff deals with their problems by sweeping it under the rug.
Stayed here for a work trip and wow! The entrance, rooms, hallways, everything is stunning. Staff are super friendly. Bruce on the bar was particularly helpful and friendly. He seemed really interested in us as guests. Rooms were amazing and the views were great. Gym and pool facilities were great too. Definitely recommend this hotel!
Stayed on business. The hotel was great, fortunately you could use the LAN connection as the WIFI was poor. Staff were very friendly & accommodating. There is great live entertainment in the evening. The breakfast buffet was good. Evening buffet could be better. If you do stay make sure you stay above the 10th floor so you get a good nights sleep to avoid the noise from the very busy main road.
This hotel is fine - a few good points are the excellent location within walking distance of shops and cultural areas and the very comfortable beds. Nice pool area too. Unfortunately the hotel was a little dated and many basic services such as the toilets and internet were not good. Both myself and my colleague experienced issues with these, and although my room was non smoking it smelled like it could have been a smoking room in the past. It's got a lot of potential so would look forward to seeing some renovations so it can keep up with the other 5 star business hotels in the area.
I had an enjoyable stay at the Westin coupled with excellent food, ambience and overall service. Kudos especially to the folks at the club lounge for their warm and friendly reception during my time there. My since gratitude goes to Jenny, Arielle, Debby, Kang Kang, Christina and Alan.
Jenny is an excellent hostess because she makes me and all customers very happy when we are away from home. Always a friendly smile and good humour which makes my stay at Westin hotel very enjoyable. I would recommend this to any one
I had a wonderful stay at the Westin Tianjin. The rooms are very comfortable - actually luxurious - and the staff is very friendly and nice. I was there for a business trip with my whole team of 5 people. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and since they spoke English, we were always going to them for every little thing. They helped us from booking cabs to train tickets to arranging print-outs, etc. The Breakfast spread was nice and a comprehensive mix of continental and chinese cuisine. I am a vegetarian (actually eggitarian) so even for dinner, their Italian Restaurant Prego came to my rescue most of the time where I could actually manage some vegetarian pizzas and pastas. Prego was quite good and the taste was almost authentic Italian. While their front desk staff spoke good English, the staff on the phone for guest services was not that fluent. Twice the housekeeping had forgotten replenishing tea and coffee in my room. First day, when I called the guest service to request tea, sugar and creamer when I came back from office in the evening, the lady though absolutely polite did not fully understand and sent coffee instead (that too without sugar and creamer). The housekeeping staff did not speak English at all, so I had to call guest service again. The lady did not still understand me fully and I ended up with tea and sugar but no creamer. At least, I had something. So, when they forgot replenishment of tea next day, I did not bother with the guest service. I walked down to the front desk and explained to them the situation instead. The stuff was in my room in a few minutes. The bed in the room was a little too soft for my liking but it’s a personal preference and my colleague actually liked it so. I also particularly liked the location of the Westin. It was in the middle of the city and there was a metro station just 2-5 minutes walk from the hotel. My office too was a few minutes walk from the hotel. While there were many malls around the hotel for normal shopping, there were also small lanes on the other hand where there were fruit shops, etc. We found a good eatery where my team could satisfy their cravings for local food (including some supposedly tasty Pupa / Larvae on sticks) and their thirst for local beer. I skipped the meal there as I couldn't find anything vegetarian. Overall a nice and comfortable stay.
The stay at The Westin Tianjin was perfect. Check In procedure was very quick, the personal was very friendly and english skills of the personal were good. A special thanks to the Club Lounge Manager Jenny. It was a very warm and super friendly welcome and treatment. Also all the other staff of the Club Lounge was very friendly. Food offer was yammie.
