Sheraton Tianjin Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

There are much newer hotels than the Sheraton around the area but the Sheraton remains my first choice. The staff are well trained , friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and very clean , and the bed very comfortable and the shower is good. Due to its age it could use an upgrade here and there but nothing egregious. The Highlight for me again is the R2J Band in JV’s bar. Spending time with them of an evening is always great fun and a great way to relax – it’s the main reason I keep coming back to the Sheraton.
Stayed 3 nights in this hotel. This is an old hotel but remind ok. I believe renovation of the room is engaged. As I have seen with other feedback, bed is good. The rooms are quite. The restaurant downstair is having a good buffet at reasonable price.
Very comfortable bed. Room Decor and furniture worn. Air conditioner in my room only blew around warm air. Good breakfast. Exercise facility next door was good. Friendly and helpful staff. It would be nice to update the furniture and decor and more important maintenance and repair of air conditioners.
Went on business. My first visit to China so I didn't know what to expect. Nice hotel, professional staff. Buffet restaurant was very expensive- $ 35 for an omelette and a croissant. Very extensive buffet, so you can overlook the cost. Excellent quality food. Bar was an uninviting, dark room with very little going for it. Needs a complete rethink on design and offerings- very 80's. The two issues I had with the hotel was the large stain on the carpet in my room that had not been fixed. Looked like someone had poured a bucket of something on the floor and they couldn't clean it up. Too tired to move the first day and spent little time in the room afterwards. They put me on the club floor, but my room key would not let me into the club lounge. Not sure why- again, couldn't be bothered to ask why. The second issue was the WiFi which was absolutely atrocious. There were a few spots in my room that I could get some reception but generally it would fade away regularly. The only place where it was even close to acceptable was in the main floor restaurant. They have hard wired broadband in the rooms, but it's kind of hard to hook your phone to that. As a business based hotel, this is unforgivable. Generally a good experience and I would return. They advertise as a five star. I think a 3.5- 4 is more appropriate.
Location of the hotel is kin'of out of city Centre, nothing much to offer within walking distance. Hotel facilities are old and extremely worn out for Sheraton standard. Not too many things are broken, but not far from that state. Service staffs are friendly and helpful. Gym are well equipped, but boring lighting. I would consider it a 4 star rather than a 5 star hotel.
Priced a bit on higher side and no complimentary breakfast if you book through any online portals (as they offer best prices and some discounts as well). Situated near market area on walking distance but far off from downtown. The staff needs to be more versed with english language and should understand easily, which was found lacking. Food was a bi costlier and even an indian curry dish lacks indian taste. Overall food options were less for vegetarian people. Room size is small with comparison to prices.
I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days, mainly for business. Generally, the facilities are in good condition. The rooms were well maintained, with a view of the park, and comfortable bed, which is appreciated when checking into a new room almost every night. Excellent breakfast and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Steve, the Restaurant Manager, was very helpful and went out of his way to assist. The dining room is very nice with a nice view to the garden. They offer a large variety of foods and the service was excellent. I tried lunch here one day and found it to offer a wide variety of options and everything I tried was good. I would stay here if I ever returned to Tianjin
Generally good facilities but the rooms are a little tired. Good breakfast and dining options as well as friendly staff make for a pleasant stay. Its location on the canal and proximity to parks is an added bonus.
I stayed in this hotel for a week in May, mainly for business. The Sheraton is one of the older hotels in Tianjin, it is situated in a nice area, with a little park behind the hotel and in walking distance to the TV tower, a nice park and other restaurants. The lobby and restaurant area looks all very nice and has a wide open design. The check-in was not so good. I arrived with 3 other co-workers and we all have had a very long trip, an overnight economy flight. Therefore we were all tired and just wanted a rest and a shower. However, the check-in staff asked everyone a thousand questions and tried to convince us to join the Sheraton member club. I was the last in row and nearly fell asleep while standing and waiting. Rooms were good, quiet (park view) and very big and comfy bed, which is definitely the most important thing on a business trip, however, I found the bathroom a bit to old and small, with a very low ceiling, so that I (1.7 m tall) nearly hit it with my head when having a shower in the bathtube. The bathroom could have also been cleaned better. Breakfast was very good. The breakfast room is very nice and wide open design with views to the garden. Food varity is wide and, staff was very helpful, coffee selection was great and good quality. What we all liked was the hotel bar, which was actually like a pub, with free pool billiard and table football and there was a band playing most evenings with two really talented singers. We got in there every evening. I had to check out one evening earlier and I was late, so I thought there might be a charge coming up but it was no issue at all. Staff handled that in a very professional way.
On a cycling trip through china we stayed in the Sheraton in Tianjin. This was the second time I have visited this hotel. I decided to come here again because I had such a nice stay before. The staff are very friendly and speak a good level of English, the rooms are very nice and the swimming pool and spa are a nice place to relax after a long trip.if you are staying in Tianjin I would definitely recommend this hotel.
