Just arrived from a budget hotel near airport which was 100% better than this hotel. First impressed looks very impressive, but rooms are in a desperate state. Given a free upgrade as on entering our room toe nails all over the floor and carpet filthy. got upgraded to a large suite but still not very clean. furniture tired and old, carpet dirty, not enough pillows on bed. Glad I am only here 2 nights .only think good about this hotel is the location.

From the gold chandeliers and marble floors you would think that this is a very nice hotel. Maybe it was nice at one point but it appears it has not been maintained over the years. A number of people on our trip became sick by staying at this hotel. There is a serious mold problem in the entire ventilation system of the hotel. Based on other reviews it seems that it has been a problem for a while. There is a damp smell in many of the rooms. Needless to say I switched hotels as I couldn't breathe at night. The air outside actually seemed cleaner than inside the room. If the hotel cared about their customers, they would close down the hotel and do a complete renovation.

Got a free upgrade to a large suite room, but I'm not very happy with the stay. The carpets are dirty, filled with human hair. I don't think they vacuum properly... or at all. The bottom of the provided single use slippers are full of hair after taking only a few steps. Pool seems closed forever. That said, the staff were friendly. The location is convenient for subway. The room furnishing are very old. The place desperately needs a serious renovation and housekeeping needs retraining on carpet cleaning.

The former Renaissance Hotel hasn't renovated after taken over. The staff don't speak english at all. The standard breakfast and service are continously decreasing I will not come back for my Next stay.

On my way from the train station to the hotel, it took the taxi driver quite a while to find the hotel as its name was changed recently. It would be a good idea to have the telephone number of the hotel handy, so the taxi driver can call the hotel for directions. The hotel is in a perfect location as the subway train station (Xiao Bai Lou or Little White Mansion) is directly opposite. There are many shops and fast food chains, cafes in the vicinity. The Tianjin concert hall is also right opposite the hotel. There are also numerous bikes for share parked outside the hotel. If one has a WeChat account with an App, one could use these bikes for tour of the Wudaidao Foreign Concession region, where a myriad of classical Western architectures built more than a century ago can be found. This area is only a short walk from the hotel. I did not try any of the hotel food during my 3 day stay, as there are so many choices of Western and local foods just outside the hotel. In fact, the renown Kiessling restaurant (over 100 years old), which is the oldest Western restaurant in the city is still open for business, and it is almost adjacent to the hotel. There is a good indoor pool in the hotel. However the water temperature was a bit on the chilly side. For location, this hotel is hard to beat. If one is not too demanding regarding the rooms, which are somewhat dated with average amenities, then this hotel should be on your shortlist.

Good location, good price, good service. Clean but little dated. Restaurant was nice and I liked the pasta. Our room was on the 32nd floor, Quiet and clean. Very close to the subway station with easy and quick access to the high-speed train station.

We stayed here on a recent overnight getaway from Beijing. Service was fine, but the entire hotel needs a refresh. Our Executive Club level room was large but furniture and carpet all seemed 10-20 years old. Executive Club happy hour and the breakfast buffet in the restaurant were both mediocre in variety and quality compared to a number of others that I've experienced.

Stayed on business. The hotel and staff were nice but the rooms were a bit dated and worn. Nothing terrible, but fresh paint, carpet, wallpaper, etc would go a long ways and the elevators were slow. Also, I asked for a newspaper in English I could read during breakfast but none could be located, but that is a minor inconvenience as they did provide wifi so I could read my phone which seams all anyone does anymore. The gym was very nice as was the pool. The location is great! Very easy walking to many chain restaurants, local restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. For the location I would stay here again, but the accommodations at the Shangrila hotel also in Tianjin are much better. See my other trips for a review of it.

Hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We were very pleased with our stay. They arranged our taxis to the cruise port which is over an hours drive and it cost us 300 RMB.

This my first time so disappointed to Renaissance ! I understand those kind of global hotel group they bought local hotel and became to their own brand hotel in China , so I accept the facilities got age but the cleanness should meet to global standard as long as you are "Renaissance "! The purpose to Tianjing was business so location was the first priority which this hotel met our expectations, very city center ! Service is fine but could be more professional, ex: I went to buffet breakfast alone and the waiter lead me in the table where belong to mine then I went to took foods but I saw someone sit on that table when I return! Many dust in the public area are even the restaurant... The most unacceptable thing was when I tried to take a good shower but I saw a long hair in the towel I never use ... I was quite sick after whole day walked in the bad pollution outside and it was very late so I didn't have enough energy to coordinate with hotel ,next day I had to rush to airport with colleagues so the bad experience end there . Here to remind the hotel ,matter what, the cleanness standard always is the first thing you should be ready for every guest!
