Just returned from a four-night stay at this handily-placed little hotel just off Egnatia, one of Thessaloniki's main thoroughfares (tip: get off bus at Kolomvou, turn right and take second street left, Siggrou: look on right for 'Chrisper' ladies' outfitters, you'll see the hotel just up on the right). Arrived at about 12.45pm, warmly welcomed by Demetrios on reception, and checked in right away (lovely to be able to get a hot shower so soon after arriving): Demetrios was also very helpful in explaining the layout of the city, and gave good advice on how to get a boat over to the beach resorts of Peraia and Neoi Epivates. My room (8) on the first floor was a nice airy single, with a small balcony (too small on which to sit in any way), and was kept spotlessly clean, with towels and bath mat changed daily. Not that I had it on that much, but the TV reception was very good, and the WiFi coverage throughout the hotel was excellent. Bed was comfortable: only niggle was the shower head stayed at one angle due to the way in which the holder was fixed, but the water was always very hot and plentiful. The public areas were immaculate, as was the fourth floor breakfast room. Breakfast was very good: while not a huge variety, what there was was typically Greek continental, and the coffee was delicious - appeared to have a touch of cinnamon, or maybe chicory? The lady running the breakfast service was very nice, too. There are quite a few hotels in the Egnatia area, and the Nea Metropolis is an excellent base, five minutes walk from Plateia Aristotelous, ten from the waterfront. Thoroughly enjoyed, and recommended . . .

My partner and I, along with another couple, stayed here for a short break of three nights. We were very happy with our choice as it was well located, fairly basic but clean and lovely staff and great value for money. Demetrius in particular deserves a mention as nothing was too much trouble and he was very informative, always cheerful and so willing. We had breakfast which was continental style and gave us a good start to the day. For the price you pay, don't expect 4* or 5* and you shouldn't be disappointed. If we were to visit the city again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here as our overall experience was very good.

It's a horrible hotel. Under no circumstances could I call this three-star hotel. Although the staff is very nice and the hotel seems ok at the entrance, when you get into the room you have a shock. I would never stay at this hotel. In Thessaloniki, I had the opportunity to stay at three star hotels, but none was so horrible. I certainly do not recommend. It does not deserve the money I ask.

We had two nights in this hotel. The bathrooms are integrated in the room, which makes the rooms too small. A bit like labyrinth. The breakfast was awful. Old furnitures. The air in the room smells bad. Terrible shower. Locations is not bad. Close to the city center and Ladadika district. Overall I do not recommend this place.

It was a pleasure spending some nights in Nea Metropolis hotel! That place is unique, it maintains the old city's glory... Takes you back to an other era of Thessaloniki! The stuff is also very warm, available at all times, and happy to help with nothing but big smiles! Of course I would choose it again and I totally recommend it! Thank you all very much!

Stayed here on three separate occasions during the course of one month. Very affordable and atmospheric centrally located hotel. Most of Thessaloniki’s major sites are located within walking distance. Tons of cafes and restaurants are located in the surrounding streets. Nice buffet breakfast included with room rate. Free coffee/tea is available all day. The manager Dimitrios is exceptionally friendly and very professional. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great location, the friendliest staff and free coffee for an exceptional price. It is not a luxurious hotel but it is clean. Just a two minute walk you are on one of the main avenues where the buses to and from the airport stop. About a five minute walk you are at the sea side promenade and all the main attractions. Plus it is not on a hill as Thessaloniki is a very hilly city. I think it is a deal

We stayed in thessaloniki for 2 nights. The hotel is in a good location, but the rooms are poor. Bad bathrooms. The breakfast is average. In desperate need of an update. The staff were very friendly and helpfull.

The hotel is located 7-8 min walk from Aristotelous square. Very positive that Egnatias street is not that near so there is no noise from outside at all. Just some basic tips for visitors: -The property and whole building is very old. Decor and furniture reminds you 70's or earlier. So, don't expect modern spacious rooms. -The location is very good. If you want to stay at this area don't worry about traffic noise but unfortunately noise coming from the corridors from other guests. -Staff helpful and friendly, WiFi speed at +-6 Mbps, tiny elevator max 2 persons. I booked a single room for 45euro per night without breakfast, Any amount above this in my opinion is too much. So from my experience if you find rooms at low price it's an ok place to sleep for 1-2 nights. I was about to leave a 3 star rating but as i mentioned, you get what you pay for. Cheers.

The hotel is conveniently placed near the old center, has an ok reception with an internet corner and coffee and very friendly and helpful staff (helped us park and carried luggage). Sadly the rooms were a let down due to the poor quality of its furniture and electronics. The fridge didnt cool, the room smelled a bit like closed air and the shower had a broken cap. Definetly just a transit place, dont stay for more than a night.
