Highly disappointing! On the 29th we invited a friend for the renowned "brunch" at the historical Des Indes Hotel. In a beautiful, classic setting, they served supermarket food and beverages. For EUR 30/pp, we expected at least barista coffee, fresh orange juice, and homemade buns.

This hotel is quite unusual and could certainly benefit from a redecoration in the near future. It seems to be very popular with the locals. The spa offers pleasant amenities and the treatments are provided with very helpful and friendly staff. IN the main area we found the service to be especially slow.

Had tea with my wife on a Sunday during a business trip. The hotel’s architecture and decor is wonderful and so was the tea. Unfortunately, the clientele was a little too judgy for us. Most of the patrons were wearing their “Sunday best”. This was fine except for several of the “ladies” that kept looking at us (and a few other couples that were dressed casually) with some form of contempt. Hopefully, that’s not a regular occurrence, but I’ll think twice before returning.

Hotel Des Indes in The Hague is not only a hotel, but it is also a museum in itself. Many well known people have stayed here, among many others Henry Ford, Thomas Mann, Tsar Nicholas II, Yehudi Menuhin etc. Fortunately, they also know to appreciate this in the Hotel, so we could look at a table on the wall with photos and signatures of many historical people. Though there has been a restoration at the beginning of this century, the old style of the end of the nineteenth century is still present. The staff is friendly and very pleasant, and they do their utmost best to make your stay as nice as possible. Breakfast is very good, and diner is exquisite. The room in which we stayed was spacious, clean and well furnished. You can prepare your own espresso, or take a drink from the mini bar. We will certainly visit this Hotel again! The hotel is not too far form the train station, and can also be reached by car. It has it’s own swimming pool and many possibilities for a good massage. Museums like the Escher museum or the Meermano museum are on walking distance of the Hotel.

From the moment you arrive to the hotel you feel at home. Whoever is the manager of this hotel he surely nows how to keep the spirit and training of the staff to the highest standards. The bellman, receptionist, all the staff welcome you by your name and a smile right from the door. Rooms are just perfect. Old grandeur without the dust. A short walk away from mauritshuis and then some tea maybe? Sanne helps me discover flavors I never tried! Wow! That lemon tea! This place is a gem!

Nice rooms, but we had a bit bad luck coming in during a storm, with rain water seeping through the window. personal at reception plus bell boys are great......... One big but is the service and the friendliness, hospitality attitude from the bar and longe personal. Not close from what you expect to get as service in a hotel from this allure. So our advice is, sleep at this old style heritage hotel, but go to town for a bite and a drink.

It is a very nice hotel, but a little bit over the top. I stayed for one night with my children. We booked for 3 rooms. My son was over from Singapore and asked to check in early. The have forgotten it and the room was only available at about 15.00 hours. When we arrived with with all the luggage at the entrance was no porter who helped us with the door. The service was all right but we have to ask for cleaning up the table. The rooms were all right but it needs some restaurations. The bathing wraps were hard. ( to old?) Nevertheless it is a nice hotel, but pay attention to small things

We had a wonderful dinner New Yeats Eve. Great food, good wine and a lovely setting. Staff were so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting with theChristmas decorations in this lovely old hotel were perfect.

If I could give it 6* I would. Fabulous location. Superb staff and incredibly comfortable. Restaurant is pricey but on dining, could see why. Excellent in every way and would not want to stay anywhere else.

I was in this hotel for two nights on a very tight business trip. Location of this hotel is excellent. It’s surrounded by lot of restaurants museums and places of interest. Rooms are not very big and spacious. For the price I paid for this hotel apart from locations others were not as impressive as the price level demands. Only one restaurant and restaurant food variety is not great. But hotel start service is very good and I experienced helpful attitude from the hotel staff.
