One assumes the name Novotel automatically meets a level of expectations, service, quality etc. This is not the case here. The rooms are absolutely awful, worn down and low end. No effort has been made to comfort, quality or anything else we are supposed to associate with Novotel. Go stay somewhere else. That's what we did. Frankly, I will not keep Novotel on my list anywhere else after this abysmal experience. I have to admit; the reception /concierge desk was extremely couteous and helpful. Terribly dissapointed, Celine
A mostly disappointing stay with the exception of our evening dinner in the restaurant and the pleasant and helpful reception staff. On holiday a good night sleep is paramount and this is a basic expectation in a 4 star hotel. Despite turning the Air-conditioning down to 15 degrees Celsius the room remained at a temperature too hot to sleep comfortably. With no bed covers on we still tossed and turned. The breakfast was of poor quality and with 40 mins before closing there was slim pickings left. I usually would not complain but my lack of sleep coupled with a VERY disappointing breakfast led me to reception. To the hotel"s credit they agreed to not charge us for our breakfast and to look into not charging us for the Accor points used towards credit on our bill. We hope this is forthcoming.
Belfort is a small city in France with a GE and Alstom plant. This hotel is close to residential area having lot of small eating options within walking distance. I spent just one night in this hotel, could not explore everything. But few peculiar and different things about this hotel are: 1. In the gym they keep healthy snacks and fruits. 2. The bathroom and WC are separate this is very good if two guests or family is staying can use them independently ... will help in time management. Overall a nice stay.
The city center is within walking distance from the hotel, and that is all I can say. The room is nothing special. I expected more from the price paid. The moment you come up from the parking garage to the reception area, you don't feel like being in a four-star hotel. It seemed like a hospital. This is the nth time that a Novotel didn't meet my expectations. But it is not a trashy hotel either. We just wanted to play safe, since we went to Belfort for the first time. And we were fine, especially with the location. Very nice receptionists too.
My wife and I stayed here and while I was doing some business, the wife explored the surrounding area. Location is good as it is quite close to the old town which is very scenic and has a lot of good restaurants. The staff could not have been more helpful and patient with us.Food is quite good except for the last night that we were there.
except the fact that underground parking should be FREE of charge for guests, and that a swimming pool or/and a jacuzzi would have brought our appreciation to the highest level...it's a great place WIFI worked top, rooms are not that big but efficient with great shower. Breakfast is just great. Location of hotel is close to old town. Still found it a bit overpriced compared to other Novotel.
What a disappointment, they refused to let us a room with our 3 children. We were asking for a large double bedroom with a sofa bed that our daughters would have shared and a cot for the baby. They refused and wanted us to rent adjoining bedrooms but our children would have been so afraid to be in an adjoining room. They really had zero understanding. all our friend were going on this hotel but I was obliged to cancel the reservation for us and find another more family friendly hotel. Moreover they made me loose some precious time!
People at this hotel were very nice and friendly. They helped arrange a taxi for me to a small city that I wished to visit The breakfast was diverse and ample. The English of the hotel representatives was very good. The rooms were clean and neat. It is a very good location for getting around and right close to the tourist information center.
Stopped here for a night, coming back from Italy. Friendly reception staff. We got the connecting rooms we asked for. The rooms were the standard Novotel rooms. The carpet had just been renovated or cleaned. I wonder if it is just an impression, or have the bathroom amenities been reduced recently in the Novotels...?
Nice hotel stayed for 5 nights on business. Comfortable & well-maintained rooms with coffee maker and fridge. May not be the cheapest hotel in town. Connectivity is bit troublesome unless you drive. You may visit the fort it's free to go right up to the top. You may enjoy food in restaurant up on fort. approximately 1km to downtown.
