Hotels in Terlingua

"Honestly wish we could have spent more time here. We arrived after dark and pulled up to the office which was closed. Since there had been no email or phone call regarding late check ins, I knew there would be a way to get into our room! Tucked into a mailbox were envelopes labeled with each guest’s name and a key. We followed the map to our cabin and were delighted to discover it was very clean and cozy. Since WiFi is limited to the close proximity of the office, we wandered back down there and were able to let our families at home know that we had arrived but would be unavailable since we would not have service all night. We promptly went to bed, got up early and headed out before sunrise. We were sad to never actually see the surroundings of our cabin and hope to be back! The only suggestion I would make is to add a very conspicuous note on the map to the various cabins that it is not to scale AT ALL. Since it is a dark sky area, roads are difficult to see and we had some trouble finding our cabin. Since we were all women in our group, that was a little nerve wracking. "
