We’ve had a great time here, obviously out of season, but very relaxed and quiet. Nice restaurant, great pool complex and apartment was perfect (except for no AC and upstairs WiFi). Great staff everywhere... and in our opinion good location for most everything. Airport proximity may bother some as during sections of the day planes are close, but didn’t bother us, we will come back.
Spent a week here and place is lovely Pools and accommodation well maintained. Entertainment is good during the day. Restaurant on site very expensive for what it is bottle of cider 5.95 euro which makes it about £7 a pint !! Shame that they are not in line with the nearby restaurants and bars. Small shop on site also very expensive easy to go to one nearby and save a bit of money on mist things. Reception staff very helpful and accomadating.
Just 15 minutes from the airport - 15 euros in a taxi. Facilities are great providing a reasonably priced mini supermarket, friendly reception and good entertainment to suit everyone's needs. Lovely clean pool area (heated) and on site Zackerys Restaurant which services good quality food and is reasonably priced. My only slight negative is that the bar is slightly over-priced. The apartments are well maintained, clean and has everything you need to a self catering holiday. If staying a week, it will get cleaned once with a complete change of towels. The resort is best suited to couples, families and a maturer clientele. The coast line is rugged so not suitable really for swimming as there is no life guard service. If you are a competent swimmer then that is okay. The daily bus service (8 euros return) to Los Christianos is available and only 20 minutes away. The local bus service is just down the road and is cheaper is you prefer the scenic route. The location is somewhat distant from local shops and bars etc and can be challenging in the heat, so you need to consider this for young children and the elderly. However there is a really good taxi service to get you around the resort. Los Abrigos is worth a visit, you can get there by the long beach / coastal walk which takes about 30 minutes or taxi in ten minutes. We've stayed a couple of times now and would return without a doubt.
We were looking for a chill out following a hard year at work and following a hip replacement 6 weeks earlier. We arrived on the 3rd September and joined our daughter and boyfriend who had arrived 2 days earlier. On getting there we checked in easily with a really efficient and friendly receptionist. We went across to our 3 bed detached villa, the downside was dragging our cases through the sun beds and no offer of a porter. Our villa was spacious and well appointed with 1 bedroom upstairs with aircon, a balcony and good ensuite. The additional bedrooms were down stairs with a shared bathroom. There was a good sized kitchen and a lounge diner with patio doors to a good sized patio with table and chairs to the front. The pool was a good size for the size of the resort with loads of sunbeds, albeit we were advised it was heaving during the school holidays. There was good poolside activities during the day wih aqua aerobics, water polo and water volleyball to name a few. The entertainment team where great and left you alone if you asked. The afternoon quiz was always fun with a beer. The bar/restaurant Zacharies, was good with good food during the day and the evening. Some people might not like planes flying directly over the pool every 20 minutes or so but it didn't bother us. In summary we had a great time, met some great people and will definitely go again
We decided to book here as originally we had booked for Berlin to go to for my husbands 50th birthday, but as i have a bit of a bad knee just now the sightseeing would have been to much walking so we decided to go to Tenerife as we have been to all the other Canary islands. As it was his birthday,we decided to hire a car so he could bring his golf clubs as that was what he wanted to do,he was not disappointed either as the Golf del sure and other golf clubs were great,Anyway back to Sunningdale...It was a fabulous pace to stay,we had a sea view, and we were up on the top which was very private, sun on balcony all day.The place inside was clean and had every utility you needed for a home from home stay, even had a tv in bedroom!,There was an issue with a few ants, but the spray supplied sorted that out,but its only to be expected in hot countries anyway. We never ate in the place itself as we cooked ourselves or went to the few restraunts nearby, one being the irish bar which had amazing food .The place was clean, had a huge pool, plenty beds,no getting up at 3 am to put towel on,lovely friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble,we got a courtesy room for half hour on our departure day as we had to be out by 10am and flight wasnt til 10 pmso it was a godsend to get a shower before travelling We really enjoyed our stay and will def think about coming back, maybe for my 50th in 3 yrs time ;-) and the hotel gave my husband a card and bottle of wine for his big day at the door for him. We got pool towels supplied which i found was a great help in keeping luggage to a minimum and a washing machine in apartment was just the icing on the cake!
I visited here with my boyfriend from 17th-24th September, we had a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor. It was a great apartment, spacious for the both of us, TV in the bedroom as well as the living room space. We only had breakfast in the apartment and ate out the rest of the time but if you were doing more meals in the apartment there's plenty of utensils etc. There is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for clothes, shoes etc. There is an iron, hair dryer, kettle, toaster and other essentials that are needed. Plenty of towels and they were changed once while we were there, there is a washing machine and 2 tablets are supplied for it, we did use it a couple of times for a few items and it's easy to use. The reception staff were always friendly and very helpful with every question or request we had. The excursion guy was friendly and efficient with booking the things we wanted to do. We booked go karting, catamaran and jungle park with him, he was informative and made the transactions pleasant. The on site restaurant is nice, reasonably priced and we enjoyed every meal and drink we had at it. The cooked breakfast which we had the first morning was very nice and we had a few evening meals and drinks too which were also very good. The staff are lovely in the resort and most of the guests while we were there were of an older generation but we didn't mind. (We're in are mid twenties incase you're wondering). There was entertainment every evening which we saw a couple of shows, there was a parrot show, snake show and owl show. The shows later in the evening were singers etc which was also entertaining. The pool is nice and big, the deep part is very deep, can't touch the bottom unless you dive. There is water classes on during the afternoon and music on sometimes too, no shortage of sun loungers. The pool has a great space, there's also mini golf, snooker tables etc on site. There is a small shop on site too which sells food etc which is handy, closes at 8pm, pool closes at 7pm sharp. There didn't seem to be too many restaurants and shops near by but there are some, we didn't venture too far, we went into the lively Las Americas a couple of nights which cost us €22 euro each way. There are bus transfers into las Americas too but they're at specific times of course. I enjoyed our stay but being our age probably would book elsewhere next time, probably las Americas as there is alot more to do around you.
Here on a CLC promotion. Place is amazing aircon in lounge and bedroom spa on the massive balcony two flat screen TVs. Washer dishwasher stunnning. Surrounds. Could not wish for more. Love the planes flying over they are so low but landing so not noisy. Huge bed jacuzzi bath two showers two toilets. Would recommend this resort
Very nice apartment on a beautiful resort very large pool and lovely restaurant it is very close to the airport but you soon get use to the aircraft flying in I would return to this resort in the future.
Great place for just couples or families. positioned close the the Airport, the resort grounds are always well kept, there is constant maintenance, going on, but generally unobtrusive. Get a B unit by the pool and you will, not go fay wrong.
Arrived home a couple of nights ago, we booked through Monarch Holidays so we knew nothing about CLC or timeshare or "holiday clubs" or whatever it is they do at Sunningdale... I was initially apprehensive after booking, after reading some of the reviews, I was worried about getting hassled to "buy into" the CLC experience but there were no problems; although other than a quick dip in the pool here and there, we didn't spend very much time using the facilities around the complex anyway. We had one drink in the bar on our first night because we were too tired to go out and explore and we never bother with the "welcome meeting" wherever we stay. The apartment was excellent, clean, modern furniture, fully equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer. washing machine, oven and 4-ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker; cupboards full of crockery, pots and pans, and washing up-detergent, cleaning cloths, bin liners and washing powder all provided. There was a TV in the living room and another one in the bedroom, both with BBC, ITV & Ch4 (but no Ch5) plus various other channels in other languages. There is also a DVD player. Each apartment has its own private wifi router with a strong reliable signal and this is free (I used it a lot during the day to stream Spotify while we were sitting on the balcony and the signal never dropped once). There was a huge super-kingsize bed which was very comfortable, extra pillows are in the wardrobe if needed. Lots of storage, two big wardrobes, lots of drawers etc and a clock/radio on the bedside table. The bathroom was clean with plenty of thick soft towels, and pool towels are also provided. You are required to use the pool towels when you visit the pool to show you are an actual guest and not just someone passing through. There was an assortment of furniture on the balcony, a big table & four chairs, two reclining chairs, a small side table and two sunbeds. There was a large sofabed in the living room and a nice dining table with four comfy upholstered chairs. The only grumble was no air-conditioning but there was a ceiling fan in the living room and another one in the bedroom, which was better than having nothing in the August heat. We left the bedroom window open at night which helped a little but the ceiling fan in the bedroom was too noisy to be left on all night. There was also a free-standing electric fan, but we didn't use it because there was nowhere in the bedroom to plug it in. We only had a cleaner and towel-change once in our eight days but this is explained in the information pack. It wasn't a problem, there is a washing machine and soap powder if your towels are getting grubby, and there were spare bed sheets in the wardrobe. As I said before, we didn't spend very much time around the complex apart from an hour or so in the pool on a couple of hot afternoons. We had a hire car for the whole holiday (from Cicar - highly recommended) which we used for a few days out around the island and also for a couple of trips to the Mercadona supermarket up near the motorway for cheap shopping. Sunningdale does have its own on-site shop - Sam's Pantry - but it is VERY expensive compared to any of the other shops nearby! We prefer to go out in the evenings and visit local bars and restaurants so we didn't use Zacary's at Sunningdale apart from one late drink on our first night after unpacking, but it seemed to be a pleasant enough place for anyone who'd prefer to stay on-site. It is quite a walk to any decent choice of bars/restaurants. There are a small selection of places within 5-10 minutes stroll, and a bigger choice of places in San Blas, about 15-20 minutes stroll away. There are also some nice places along the seafront down near the San Miguel Marina which we visited for a cool mojito in the afternoon, and if you like a good walk, Los Abrigos harbour is a lovely place to go for local fish restaurants. In summary, we were very pleased with our apartment. I had requested an apartment with pool view AND view of the flightpath (my other half likes his planes...) and this request was not only fulfilled but he also had a partial view of the airport, which he was delighted with! The apartment had everything we needed for days and/or evenings spent on the balcony and was a good base for exploring the island if you have a car (also plenty of parking spaces). We will definitely be back at some point in the future!
