Had a pleasant week here but the apartment we were "Upgraded" to was sort of semi improved with some modern furniture combined with worn items and the tiling in the bathroom and kitchen very old fashioned. Nice patio area with some lovely sunsets and you could just about see the sea. the main problem was the very small bedroom that you could not shut the door on because of the position of the bed. We were told on arrival that we could ask to keep on our room until 12.00 and if that was not possible then a room would be available to shower and change in on our day of departure, the same girl on reception that told us then said when we asked to arrange this that we could not keep the room as they were fully booked and that there was no courtesy room but to use the pool showers! The complex was very quiet always plenty of sunbeds but no real entertainment other than quizzes and bingo but there are a lot of nice restaurants nearby as well as bars offering live music. Overall very average.
We are members and used points to stay at RPA, we had a spacious one bedroomed infiniti apartment, ideal for 2 people, but I think 4 people would find a lack of storage. Resort is maintained to a high standard, spotless inside apartment and outside. The restaurant/bar is now not part of the hotel. New staff and not very friendly or professional. Had happy hour at the bar on the first day 5-6.30 pm. Service ok but went second day and ordered Bacardi and coke's and I'm certain we only got cokes. On ordering the next drinks we mentioned we would like Bacardi in the drinks this time, but again just coke. We were charged over 20 Euros and told Barcardi not on the offer. That's fine I don't mind paying for Barcardi but at least put it in my glass. I went to reception and saw Laura and said I did not like their attitude. She did ring the bar. We didn't go back until about 3 days later, when we called at 10.30pm for another drink. This time we sat on the terrace and were completely ignored and didn't even get a drink. Obviously we never went back. There are too many good restaurants and bars outside the complex to worry about using the hotel bar/restaurant, and you get better service. The specials board outside the restaurant advertised the same meal every night, fish of the day with prawns,no wonder we never saw anyone in the restaurant. I do think a hotel needs to provide a bar that opens later than 11 pm. A good holiday but a shame about the restaurant. Reception staff were excellent.
Stayed for 2weeks, would highly recommend, lovely room, clean, and all up to date, everything supplied no hidden charges on s/c. Pools heated which was great for the little ones. Staff cheery and very helpful. Also had use of the hotel pools and entertainment. Overall would definitely return.
Just returned from a week's stay here.We were in an Infinity one bedroom apartment with a patio.Refurbished apartment everything perfect apart from the sofa bed - it had seen better days.Apartment serviced almost every day Good welcome pack on arrival - milk, juice, wine bread, eggs, cooked meat, cheese butter and jam. Lots of steps on the complex but there are lifts and ramps. Pool area very clean and a good restaurant overlooking the pool - ideal to sit in the sun with a drink. I would not hesitate to return.
Stayed here on half term school holidays in October with my family (wife and two kids and eldest daughters freind). Booked with travel republic for the first time after the "Monarch" episode and last minute found this. On arrival were met at reception to check in by pretty pleasant staff, the apartments are split between privately owned and timeshare and a few holiday rental. We were given apartment 318 which was a 2 bed which is what we booked, if you are unfit or struggle with steps this is not the place for you as there are many steps to get anywhere. Apartment was good overall apart from the oven had no shelf's at all and there wasn't a pan in sight so how we were supposed to make anything for meals being self catering was a bit of a baffle... bathroom has no windows so after a couple of showers it had the humidity of the Amazon rainforest in there, all of that and other minor issues I could deal with but my biggest letdown was the balcony... apartment 318 is right in the corner and a 6 berth apartment but the balcony you couldn't swing a cat on and was overlooked massively by next door as there was a minimal dividing wall between the 2 ( In my opinion obviously why this apartment was on lets because they couldn't sell it). Pool area is good and always sunbeds available but I did have to save a drowning child myself at one point because the lifeguard was too busy eating his lunch and facetiming a freind....just something to be aware of if you're there with children. Overall was a clean and tidy apartment block but in my opinion needs a bit of a cash injection to make it a great complex. Golf del Sur is embarking on a lot of building work and will be pretty good when it's all finished....San blas is good for restaurants and souvenir shopping which is about 20 minutes walk along the coast from this complex but is very hilly along the way. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the immediate area... would I go again?...yes is the answer but would request an apartment with a better balcony. Hope this review gives people a little insight in to what to expect.😎
Stayed next door at Golf Plaza but popped here for a couple of meals. Food very good and child friendly. Service could be improved - slow at times and errors in order each time (e.g. forgot coffees, no meat lasagne so just brought vegetable, vegetables forgotten). Food was good so just frustrating. Would go again.
We have just returned after staying here in a self catering deluxe apartment. The room was clean and spacious- one main bedroom, a bathroom with shower and bath, a spacious lounge/diner/kitchen with sofa bed, tv, air conditioning and an enclosed patio area with table and chairs, two sun loungers and an airer for drying clothes/towels. The sofa bed was not the most comfortable- the mattress was in need of replacing as the springs could be felt, but as the kids slept on this, it as not a major issue-they did not complain. The main bedroom was fine, with plenty of wardrobe space with lots of hangers, drawers and an overhead fan, which was adequate to keep room cool for us. The room was cleaned, the first time was a few days after arriving, we had to request at reception for it to be cleaned and after that we hung the sign on the door and the room was cleaned. The pool area consisgs of a kids pool-no deeper than 0.75m and the main pool which ranged in depths but deepest was 2.3meters. The pools were cool, but once in, pleasant to swim in. THINGS TO BE AWARE OF AT THE POOL: *Floats/inflatables are not allowed *Despite the pool rules clearly saying kids under the age of 6 have to be accompanied by an adult at all times, children CANNOT swim in the main pool if they wear arm bands or use other flotation devices e.g. noodle/woggle. We had different conversations with different lifeguards as we believed we were following the rules as shown on the board, however according to those who live on the complex, Spamish laws mean changes are always appending to pool rules. We think it is ridiculous not to allow children into the main pool with or without armbands and accompanied by adults-our 31/2 year old was wanting to practise her swimming skills but with this new rule was unable to.She was upset that she was unable to swim in the big pool and cried when the lifeguard shouted at her. We are less likely to return in future as this means she is restricted to just the kids pool, which is such a shame as the holiday was great apart from this. There are lots of lovely places to eat in the area and 3 supermarkets-we found the best one was on the Greenparks (?) Area, opposite the Irish bar (turn left out of the main hotel) Overall we enjoyed our week-hot weather, good trip out to see the dolphins and whales, great restaurants and cafes, just the pool rules put a damper on the experience (excuse the pun!)
Quite a very nice place to go to and relax. Few facts: Booked a room with balcony got one with a patio... Not a big deal but still... They blamed 3rd party where I made my booking Dont count on great views but its not any bad either Some of the staff very helpful and nice, some not really like Close to TFS ~15min with a taxi ~14€ Buses available every 30m or so across the island ~1.50€ one way Closest real sand beach in El Medano ~20min with a bus Free WiFi only in the lobby Overall I had a very good time, there are positive vibes about that place. Enjoyed my stay and will come back - sooner or later! Till next time!
Just returned from 2 weeks at Park Albatross. Great room overlooking pool. Room was cleaned every day and fresh towels. Pool bar under new management and food was great, Annie behind bar most days was great and very friendly, some of other staff were hard work more for her than us! Resort is very clean and well maintained, can't wait for next visit!
We have been here several times. The Royal Park Albatros is dated but very clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. If you want a quiet resort, this is what it is. I was here with my 2 grand children 23 & 20 and they thought it was great and we will be back.
