I'll start with the pro's: - Big selection of food at breakfast including fresh omelette stand, fried egg and eggy bread stand, fresh pancake stand with plenty of toppings, range of cereals, fruits, pastries, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, and juices. - Clean pools (both normal and fresh water pools). We had no issues with sun beds or overcrowding like some people had reading previous reviews (maybe because we went off-peak- Mid Sept). Please note that you do have to pay for the sun beds in the fresh water pool area. - Rooms were spacious and there is plenty of storage. - Wifi was great throughout the hotel. - There are plenty of restaurants, pubs, clubs, shopping centres, and beaches that are very close by the hotel. - Staff are very friendly and helpful. Cons: - It was initially a bit difficult to navigate around the hotel as it isn't signposted very well, but we soon figured our way around. - There was building works going on as the hotel is undergoing some renovations, but it didn't bother us so much; the hotel needs a few updates! - The queen bed is just two single beds pushed together. - The drain in our shower was very slow and the shower area filled up quite quickly so it was a bit difficult to enjoy a nice power shower. I did fill in a request for someone to see to it, but unfortunately nobody did. - We had a leak in our AC unit and it made the room smell like sewage every so often which really wasn't pleasant! We didn't go to any of the restaurants that the hotel had so I cannot comment on the food, but the menus looked good- may be not so much for vegetarians. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was nice to stay somewhere different rather than a bog standard hotel.
Book double room with sea view What a laugh if you stretch you neck and stand on your toes you might have a chance Pool area is an hazard loose tiles all over Bath feels like it's going give way Bedroom over the nights entertainment terrible vocalists Reception listened to our complaints but nothing done Definitely would not recommend
It was being renovated at the time but I still don't see why you would do this in the middle of the summer, bizarre. It use to be a quiet relaxing place, now it's awash with touring parties and over crowding. If you don't get up early then forget getting sun beds. For what the experience was it was way too expensive. I had to kill a cockroach in my room, no one seemed to be that interested when I showed them photo's Won't be going back, it use to be very good. Didn't mind the extra cost back then, but this was a packaged holiday at 5 star prices, not good enough. And I was on holiday not a golf holiday with the lads!
My husband and I stayed here from 14-19 September 2017. We have just returned home from a lovely few days spent in the sun. We chose Jardin Tropical for its unique look and location and we were not disappointed. On arrival, after being held too long at the airport, we were welcomed my very friendly staff and given a glass of fizz while we checked in. This took minutes and before long we were taken to our room with a beautiful garden view. It wasn't one of the upgraded rooms but it was still lovely. We received a beautiful note congratulating us on our anniversary along with a fruit platter, chilled prosecco and chocolates. Really a very kind and thoughtful gesture. The bathroom was spacious with double sinks and a bath with a shower. It was clean and towels were changed As and when necessary. The wardrobes were really large with loads of hangers, fantastic as I'm always disappointed with the lack of hangers/space in hotels normally. The bed was very comfortable and I didn't have one restless night. Breakfast was a buffet service, very busy but lots of staff on hand to help. Tables were cleared quickly and waiting staff happy to bring you coffee promptly, and kind you wanted from double expresso to cappuccino- there was also the choice of a Buck's Fizz with breakfast too - a real treat!! The pool area was a little to busy for us but we used the hotels beach club which was really relaxing and right on the rocks of the coast. A nice little bar and a beautiful fish restaurant too. Beds were easy to get and staff brought mats for the beds and towels were able to be collected easily enough from pool staff. Yes there is a lot of refurbishment going on just now, and the hotel does need it, but we were not bothered by it at all. I was a little concerned with the loose tiles at the beach club, really gritty under foot so take your flip flops to the side of the pool! But all in all I cannot fault this hotel. Every member of staff was professional and accommodating, from reception to night security, everyone was pleasant and had a smile. It really makes a difference. We are looking forward to returning next year and hopefully stay in the same part of the hotel as we really enjoyed it.
We spent 10 days here at the start of September. This hotel could be great but we found it to be a let down in so many ways that we won't go back. Pros: Great location Comfortable beds Good breakfast Cons: Building work far more extensive than we were led to believe. Started at 8:30am (could hear it from our bed) 6 days a week. When we were there they were assembling wooden structures so constant hammering of ply wood and overwhelming stench of lacquer paint/glue around the pool area and at breakfast Room was dated, paint flaking off the ceiling and chipped furniture Gym has no air conditioning! And on more than one occasion had no water No information in the room so only realised there was a second seaside pool area a few days in, had to ask what time check out was Farcical sunbed system enforced indiscriminately some days and not at all on others After getting a sunbed on the seafront, at 11:30 we were told to move because there was a wedding taking place. Hard to find somewhere else to sit. Why not just cordon that area off before it opened? Had to wait 15 minutes to checkout with no apology for the wait
We were attracted by the white washed Moorish design of this hotel , so different from the usual package holiday offering. Refurbishment is underway , though sadly a few years too late . The main pool area is seriously overcrowded and the beach club though peaceful and spacious tired. Workers were literally painting over the cracks ! The service was good throughout the hotel and we hope that all the work will restore it to it's former glory
Honestly, despite all the recent reviews left on here - this hotel is now one of mine and my boyfriends favourites. We're about to fly back home tomorrow and we don't want to leave! I'll leave a list of pros and cons Pros: . Hotel is stunning, not the typical tower block type hotel you generally get. It is truly beautiful . We had a lovely welcome and were given glasses of champagne upon our arrival. . Staff carried our luggage to our rooms . Staff are so helpful and friendly . Plenty of choice of foods at breakfast including fresh pancakes! Yum! . Hotel is situated in the perfect location! Plenty of shops and restaurants around. But also very peaceful and quiet, luckily not situated in the louder part of Adeje! . There's always free sunbeds here. This isn't the type of hotel where people rush for the sunbeds every morning at the crack of dawn! . They supply you with towels and floats at the poolside . Very cosy and clean bedroom, had very good night sleeps in this room . Plenty of hangers in the cupboard, lots of storage for clothes and shoes etc . Wifi is amazing! Had no problems connecting to it unlike previous hotels we have stayed in . A letter from reception was slid under our door to update us on when we will be picked up from the hotel to be taken to the airport which I thought was fab! Now we don't have to stress about it! . Lastly we met a couple who told us they have been coming to this hotel for the past 13 years so clearly this place is amazing! Cons: . The building work that is currently taking place - although honestly, it hasn't been much of a problem at all. We have still been able to relax and have a happy time here! It's really not as bad as the latest reviews would make it seem. We were actually really worried about it when we saw the reviews before we arrived aswell, so please don't let them worry you either. . Our toilet has a leak. . The double bed is just two singles pushed together We can't wait to come back to Hotel Jardin Tropical in the future. We are excited to see all the updates from the building works :)
Good points: - Good breakfast - Big room Bad points: - Every double room is 2 single beds pushed together with a king sheet on. - Shaby hotel ( smells damp, paint work bad) - Tiles missing by the pool - Sun lounges reserved first thing, struggle to find one unless you pay inbetween 25 to 40€ for a cabana. - Building works start very earlier and carry on throughout the day. would defiantly not return.
We came here last year and loved the hotel, the service was excellent, we had a couple of minor issues with the room which were resolved within the hour. Had a great time so decided to come back this year. We were aware of the renovations this year, but they didn't cause us any inconvenience or problems. Yes bits of the hotel are closed off, yes the alternative routes to reception could be better signposted, but there was no danger that we could see, as some people have mentioned below. We didn't notice any noise or smells from the works at breakfast. Staff were excellent, service very good, rooms and public areas spotlessly clean. We had a refurbished room on floor 8 which was gorgeous. Breakfast was excellent... massive choice, seating service was efficient... yes there are queues for omelettes and pancakes at peak times, but freshly cooked and delicious, worth the wait. We went down a bit earlier a couple of times and no queues! Yoga and Pilates classes were great too. Location is great, beach club is gorgeous, we will definitely go back.
We went with a little trepidation as we knew building works were in progress but in truth the hotel is doing their best to minimise the disruption. The works are going on to the rear of the main swimming pool behind hoardings. There is some noise but only occasionally noticeable and once in a week not acceptable. The reduction in area has meant that sunbeds are closer together in some areas than ideal. Tip is get your towels on the beds by 08.30 am to get the best location. We were on bed and breakfast terms the choice of food was amazing and very good. We had bedroom 874 at side of hotel with partial sea view. Room very good size particularly the bathroom with his & her basins. Room maid Ruby kept spotlessly clean and teased us with various designs using the bedspread and flowers each day. Tip for evening meal nearby Embassy Restaurant very friendly staff and excellent food. The ambience in the outside bar is lovely and the singers were very good. Reception staff very good and helpful. Would not put anyone off a visit to Jardin Tropical.
