Asked especially for a quiet room. There was a bit of street noise (nothing major),but absolutely no noise from bars/discos etc. Room was small but very clean, housekeeping cleaned and changed towels daily. Very good location and very helpful staff.
I came to Tel Aviv for 2 weeks on vacation. I was planing to stay in one place and from there to travel all over the Israel. Now, I think it was a mistake. It would be chipper to stay in different places that I wanted to see for 2-3 days and move further. But for now I'm in the sun city hotel in Tel Aviv. Location is very good close to the beaches and to the center of Tel Aviv, close to restaurants and markets. I was walking everywhere and didn't use any transportation. Personal of this hotel is very nice, friendly and helpful. But itself hotel is old, bathroom is very tiny, bed is not very comfortable and room is noisy. I think it's too expensive. But not many hours I spent in the room and thanks to personal I was recommended very good places to eat and were cheaper.
Centrally located in Tel Aviv at a decent rate. However, there is a nightclub next door that blasts LOUD music Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Unless you bring ear plugs, you will not get any sleep at this hotel.
We pre-booked this hotel for 3 nights when going on our Israel-vacation. The location of the hotel is ok, but the rest of the experience was not good. The male receptionist who met us was unfriendly and not service-minded. Could not get any sleep as the disco next door might as well be inside our room. Regretted our pre-booking.
Everything was very nice and clean. The male receptionist was very helpful in showing me on map where the place I needed to go to was. :) The location superb, a few minutes walk to all the important places. The room was a bit small and noisy, but I didn't really mind. The only bad thing was the room temperature. I had to wake up a couple of times to turn on/off the a/c. It would change temperature by itself. Really weird.
The room is spartan, with very little in the way of amenities. The shower is old. The heating didnt work very well. Most disappointing was that we had what was once an adjoining room where the door had been sealed off. One afternoon we could hear a couple next door having sex. That night, it was another couple that went on ALL night (twice!) until we called and asked them to be quiet. It didn't help much. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep either. The location was okay, but I'd never set foot in this place again.
My friend and I stayed 1 night at the Suncity hotel. We're both students so we we're looking for a clean room in a good location! The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms we're clean, reception was helpful and we even had a small balcony looking over allenby street. Recommended for budget travelers and students!
Small rooms, not very pretty, and I had to change rooms once because they had no light in the bathroom and no replacement lamps, but all in all, a usable hotel in a convenient location for a reasonable price.
The hotel had in the lobby free coffee, hot choco, Tea and cold drinking water available all the time! Hallways were really narrow and walls like paper. No elevator. Noisy to sleep like everywhere in TLV. Location really good next to the Carmel Market, Sheinkin, Nachalat Binyamin etc.. From/To central bus station goes the minibus (Sherut) nr. 4. Less than 5 min walk to the beach. And AmPm around the corner. Perfect Location.
To consider this a hotel is an exaggeration. While the air-conditioning did work and the hot water did too, there is little else to praise. This place is in desperate need of a total renovation. Staff is apathetic, carpeting is totally worn out, decor is absent. When compared to sleeping on the street, Sun City may "win" though prospective guests would be worse to try something else if possible.
