I still have one night left, but unless things take a drastic turn, I’m sticking with a five star rating. From check-in until now, customer service has been extraordinary. Alexey at reception was personable and professional. The host in the main restaurant was nice and helpful, since I couldn’t figure out how to open the gate at the foot of the steps near the pool (you push a red button, that’s all!) Despite the number of tourists this hotel seems to attract, every employee has been most patient and kind. The food from the buffet at dinner and at breakfast is delicious and offers “familiar” foods, but also authentic Israeli food. There is a large variety as well. The room is quiet, the AC shoots out cold air, while the shower shoots out hot water, the perfect combo! There’s a mini bar, basic amenities like shampoo, lotion, etc. plus a safe. You can get YouTube on TV, movies and more. I also like the balcony that overlooks the sea on the left and the city on the right. The location is excellent , with a very long boardwalk along the beach, lots of cafes along the way and other enjoyable things. Really, a perfect way to start my Israeli tour!
I moved to Herods from a boutique hotel on the other side of Tel Aviv. Wishing to be near the beach!! Big mistake from entering the building I felt lost, no warm welcome!!! Nobody asked to help with finding room, so many groups arriving and leaving, a bus stop. It was a busy busy breakfast room, travelling alone it was not welcoming at all. The only upside was the direct access to the beach. This however was closed at 6pm. On my first night at the hotel, I placed my electrical point into the wall point. It fell out immediately and shorted my room. I was in complete darkness, when I rang reception I was screamed at for shorting the whole floor, I tried to explain what had happened but was cut off immediately. The Hotel is old, power points are broken, toilet ran all night, the balconies are great but can not see out as glass is filthy. I spoke to reception about late check out 4 days before checkout offering to pay to stay till 5pm as my flight did not leave till 10pm that night. Told very rudely could not do anything till the day, very unhelpful. Kept asking till the day before a helpful man at the desk managed to organise for me to pay 50% for the pleasure of a late check out. I was not going to wait till the last minute, as I had a 30 hour flight ahead of me!!! and wanted to rest in the morning. Even with this at 11.30am that morning I had a knock on the door and asked why I had not left room yet. Check out 11am, I explained I had paid for extra half day, I would expect clean towels but nothing, even had to use my own tissues as there was no toilet paper. A very very very disappointing HOTEL. With the fabulous choice of Hotels in TA unless your on a tour! WHY WOULD YOU???
Not impressed at all my room. Isreal apparently the only place in the world I’ve stayed where you pay for your stay when you arrive and not when you leave !!!! So after less than 12 hours they took money from my account even though my Company was paying for my stay ! My room standard was very poor , I’d say a 3 star at best . Very tired rooms and the standard of cleaning was also poor as I returned to my room to find very long black hairs in my sink and a bottle of cleaner on the side . The Shower looks less than inviting but works far better than it looks . The coffee making facilities were poor as no milk was ever left and no free fresh water . The hotel may be living off of past achieved standards but it now a long way off being a 5* Hotel !! I will not return and I live in hope my account is credited back with the cash they took from my card .
What a great hotel, amazing foyer with floor to ceiling curved window overlooking the beach. We were on the 5th floor, room was clean & large with a balcony overlooking the sea. Amazing breakfast every morning with views over the beach & option of eating on an outside deck. Large outside heated swimming pool & a great Gym. What really made it for us was how friendly & helpful all the staff were. I went to Tel Aviv with my wife & my father who was 90 this year, they didn't want to leave.
At the front desk, Sandra is very helpful to ensure the right room is allocated to us. She goes the extra miles to share with us with some essential info that make our stay memorable. The breakfast is nice with good spread. There is champagne for weekday breakfast too.
I enjoyed staying in this hotel and the room is cleaned. A friendly lady by the name Sandra has provided me with a lot of good tips to navigate around tel Aviv. Personally, I think she has outdone what we need to be doing as a front desk. Great job
The club lounge has a gorgeous view and a wide variety of food and beverages. The young women working while we were there (Sofi and Rotem) are great, they made sure to clear away used dishes , and replenish any dwindling items. The view is lovely, good food, coffee machine, beers, wine, alchoholic beverages. Perfect!
We were with my elderly parents who arrived on a night flight. We couldnt get an early check in but were offered breakfast as a compensation .My 92 year old father cut the top of his finger off on the saturday with the bread knife and thats were the over and beyond service began .The medic /security officer couldnt do enough before we took him off to emergency at the hospital. He came twice to dress it. After we got back from the hospital he asked to be contacted by the front desk to check that my father was ok .for the whole week after the security people who are first aid trained came day and night to dress my fathers hand which saved him having to go to the hospital twice a day. They always came with a smile and any time he needed .The breakfast was varied and the restarant staff and front desk staff were always smiling and helpful and friendly. The room was cleamed to the highest standard and nothing was too much trouble for anyone .This was our first time in the Herods and we can highly recommend it .
Myself and my partner were booked into Crown Plaza Beach hotel in Tel Aviv for 6 nights but when we arrived we found the hotel was under refurbishment and the rooms offered to us were sub standard. We refused to accept that and cancelled our booking. We went to the Herod next door and lady named Sandra helped us to fix us a room at a very reaonable price. In fact she offere us an upgrade and the level of service to go with it that was par excellence. Thankyou Sandra and Herod to come to our rescue. This was truly a service with a smile and going an extra mile to make a custmer happy. I have now recommended the hotel to my colleagues and my company. Well done.
Great time sitting at bar with bartender Yahav. Great recommendations on Israeli wines n great personality. Fabulous view of Mediterranean Sea from the bar. Staff very friendly n very helpful. Would stay here again.
