This hotel is clean and in a great location close to beaches and restaurants. Its about a five minute walk for a perfect spot to watch the sunset on the beach each night and its about an hours walk to Jaffa. The staff are friendly and helpful. One of the staff even dropped me off to Jaffa on his way home. Thanks for a great stay Armon.
I came to the hotel for 1 night, the receptionist was nice and welcoming but after I got into the room I've noticed that the AC is not cooling and secreting a horrible smell. I went down to the reception to notify the receptionist about that, he tried to fix it but couldn't really help. Since the room was on the 1st floor to the main street and it was a very hot night I asked to cancel the booking and left (less the hour after I came in), but guess what, they charged me for that disappointment (120$). Since then I sent emails but didn't get any reply except "the hotel manager will be in contact with you". Very disappointing, 120$ for nothing!
Small hotel right next to Tel Aviv Port and beach. Clean. Rooms are small and the balconies are not possible to use - very small. The breakfast is nice, the staff is trying to do their best. Good return for your money, but don't expect too much pleasurable atmosphere - it's just for having a nice sleep next to the beach.
It is best to describe the Armon Hayarkon hotel in terms of its obvious positives and negatives. Some positives: a goodly supply of power points; nice toiletries; modern TV; good storage; good location only five minutes to one of the beaches and also to some good eateries at the vibrant port section; and, helpful reception staff Negatives: small clunky elevator; poor wifi signal; old carpeted and wall-papered room (not my favourite decor); quite limited, but nutritious, breakfast; older furniture; small room; dilapidated in-room safe (cannot use the numbers 2 or 3 in your code); six steps to lug up the luggage at the entrance; no convenient space for taxi to stop on a busy road; not cheap - but not overly expensive; only hardened desiccated dairy creamers; and, on the second day no supplies of coffee, tea or the fossilised creamer provided (possibly the latter should be considered a positive). As can be seen, the negatives outnumber and would also outweigh the positives, and this provides a reasonable summation of the experience. The hotel is serviceable but not flash, and whilst not uncomfortable, it would not likely be one I would select in a future visit to Tel Aviv. Certainly the pictures in the hotel's website present far better images than the reality.
The hotel is on the main road on the way to the TLV port. The location is good. Restaurants and supermarkets within 10 mins walking distance. Same with the harbour front where there are many good restaurants. There is a good promenade to walk up to the old Jaffa city along the water front. The front office staff are kind and helpful. Special thanks to Saul and Reuven for the guidance and tour/taxi bookings they made for us. Buffet breakfast is basic but good and substantial with eggs, bread, fruit, salads, etc. Rooms a bit small but clean and well equipped. Free wifi with a good strength. Stayed for 5 nights then proceeded to Jerusalem
I do NOT recommend: No parking-small dirty rooms- very noisy- poor service. Parking - Despite their advertising the hotel doesn't really have free parking which is a HUGE issue in Tel Aviv. Hotel with 20+ rooms has 4 parking spot in a long drive way and They would not allow rental cars park there as they refuse to move the the car for you if u block someone. Dirty rooms - the carpet had much better days, the shower is tiny and slippery Noisy - while in the bath room you can hear EVERYTHING that is going on in all the room close to you up and down. They can probably hear you too Poor service - I am Israeli so I am Not very spoiled but when I dared complaining about the parking situation I was cursed, threatened and yelled at by both the receptionist and his manager the next day UGLY
Take the time to get to know the staff. Saul and Irma at the front desk will be very helpful if you are polite. You can practice your Russian second language and many speak several languages. Thank the cooks and house keepers. You may get a heart shaped chocolate on your pillow from Tatyana after your over night trip to Eilat as I did. I highly recommend this hotel as the central point of your extended holiday in Israel. Ask how to get to my favorite cafe a couple of blocks away for Шешлик and meet my friend Yakov (Jacob)
Nice hotel, central location, very clean. Good value for a short stay in Tel Aviv. Location is very central, beach is very near. Hayarkon Street runs alongside the Tel Aviv beaches. Breakfast is ok, self service.
Reception service was acceptable. Breakfast : i do not know if they are blind ignorant lazy and unpolite but good luck in finding a cleaned table . Those 2 ladies only speak russian and if you don't they completely ignore you. Tables might get ckeand in case there is really no free table available. They pass by those but just spend their girls talk in thst little kitchen. I am not talking about the food that is good or the location but the service personal needs proper training in hospitality...
Have reviewed this hotel on my previous stay and have stayed here 5 times. The reviewer called "stinky rooms" must have been extremely unlucky because the rooms are kept clean daily and not a whiff of smoke and shouldn't be as the whole hotel is a smoke free area. The breakfasts are very good and the travelling from the airport by train and bus and is as quick as a taxi and 8 times cheaper. The whole of Tel Aviv is noisy so you cannot expect a hotel opposite the beach to be quiet. Fantastic value.
