Spent an evening here on a deal. Lovely place, welcoming and friendly, with a wow factor from the gates and cosy fires in the entrance and lounge. Tasty food, well presented .if you into pie and lots chips it's probably not for you! Nice size bedroom with a view and helpful British staff! All in all a great stay with lots to see and do in the area.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our retirement and joint birthdays. Brilliant staff very friendly, fine dining high quality food nothing is too much trouble. Dining rooms and lounges are in the historic part of the building with piano music provided on a baby grand with your afternoon tea. If you want to spend time in a seriously good hotel at an affordable price ? This is it! We stayed in the Woodland wing which is a modern extension with excellent quality rooms clean, immaculate and contemporary. Next time I would like to stay in the original historic part of the building. Just to complete the stately home experience. Thankyou all for a brilliant time

We had a great one night stay, it a great place, the staff all from the local area go that extra mile, only one complaint in the two lounges have no atmosphere even when there were at least 15 other guests, everyone was whispering and made it like a library, so please please Gisborough Hall management lets have some sort of low background music for when we visit again

i was spoilt from start to finish! on arrival i had a 2 course lunch in the Bistro. the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. Then i was taken up to the spa for a sauna then a neck, back & arms massage followed by a facial. My pamper session finished with a file and polish. Louise who was my treatment therapist was lovely too . The afternoon was finished off in the drawing room that had fabulous views with a lovely pot of tea and 2 pieces of lemon poppy cake which was really nice & unexpected. i didn't think id be able to eat it but it was lovely and light. The only problem was there was no other spa facilities such as a pool or steam room but there was a tiny relaxation room with a shower and toilet within it. I understand that new spa facilities are planned. The hotel itself had a nice calm ambience about it but could do with some new furniture in some parts of the hotel as what was there was looking tired.

Been here a few times now and never been disappointed. It's a mix of very traditional and very modern in its dining and room decor. We've been in the old nursery room loads if space and very well appointed, we've also had standard room again very well appointed and has tea/coffee bottles of water, had room service that was quick and a good portion size. Dinner as ever is a relaxed affair and although the menu was the same both nights (not unusual) there was a good choice, red/white meat, fish or vegetarian dishes all available. Breakfast is equally relaxed help yourself to fruit, yoghurt, continental, cereals and your cooked order is taken at your table and hot drinks and toast. Lots of choice and nothing too much trouble. The staff are friendly and chat to you making it a warm atmosphere to be in, I just love this place for all of the above reasons. Plenty of walks or golf in the area but nice to sit around and just read also.

Came to Gisborough Hall as our first trip with Secret Escapes on a cheap deal. I really wasn't expecting what we got which was an outstanding experience! The bedroom, one of their standard classic ones, was roomy, clean with an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was very well appointed, marvellous shower, separate bath, two hand basin and toiletries provided. Tea and coffee making facilities were generous, even ground coffee and loose leaf tea provided as well as the usual. The staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We were given good advice on what to do in the area and felt as if the staff had all the time in the world to talk to us. Really good individual attention. The meals were superb. One of the desserts, the green apple Eton Mess, was the best I've ever had! The whole hotel is beautiful and welcoming. Lots of lovely areas to sit and relax in front of roaring fires surrounded by beautiful art and furniture. We can't wait to come back! We have discovered an absolute treasure!

When you go up the drive your eyes see this wonderful old building showing loads of character. The receptionists were absolutely great. We were given The Admirals Room which was very quirky and right over the front entrance. This was spotless and obviously had been revamped recently. Dinner was great and the service brilliant. Only one small grouse was that the meat portions were a bit on the small side, but overall were tasty and well presented. Full marks to Kirsty who pointed out places to go as we hadn't been in this area before.

It was lunchtime as we drove through Gisborough Hall's beautiful gates and gardens. The mansion built in 1856 looked amazing from the outside and the interior was equally impressive and was steeped in history. But as we entered the bistro we were confused and felt a little down. We came expecting 19th century history throughout, but what we got was a modern bistro that wouldn't look out of place in any suburb of any western country on the planet. The food made up for it with a great home made soup, traditional, fish and chips, pie and a massive burger complete with onion rings and chutney.

Birthday DB&B deal. Very reasonable. Very impressive building, entrance etc. Lovely, friendly check in and superb room, a teeny seating area on a mezzanine - lovely bed, bathroom etc. A teeny thing: fresh milk for tea/coffee to be ordered from Reception. We did. It never came. Down to dinner for drinks - waited an age to be served. But then waiting staff very friendly. Wrong drinks brought, rectified quite quickly. You see where my 'almost there' title is coming from... Meal arrives. One great starter (mackerel) and one that was average at best. One great main (cod) and a duck dish that was 'fine'. Perfectly fine deserts. Nice cheeseboard etc. Bill had 22x ports on it (we definitely didn't have this many) and was rectified quickly. Breakfast. Easy - we both wanted full breakfasts and the choice of black pudding or beans. We chose one of each. Both breakfasts were wrong - with added bits on some, missing bits on the other. Lovely though. It was a good night away. Not great but good. The things that were 'wrong' were small but added up to be a bit annoying. More attention to detail is definitely necessary. Extremely friendly staff - particularly the waitress who brought around our bread at dinner. I can't remember her name. We left clothes in the wardrobe (genius) and they posted it back to us, went to the post office to price it up etc. They absolutely want to go the extra mile so I hope this feedback gets them to look at the detail because overall they have a lot to offer.

Spent a couple of relaxing days at Guisborough Hall. Stayed in room 121 the Fountain Suite, beautiful suite felt totally spoilt. Four poster bed was one of the best hotel beds I've slept in for a long while. All staff were extremely pleasant and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was delicious and some great choices on the menu. Will definitely stay here again.
