We enjoyed our week at the retreat by the sea. Its a beautiful property 2 minutes walk from the lovely marske beach. We ate and drank at lots of local businesss. From fresh seafood at the seaview restaurant in Saltburn to delicious pizzas at the local italian in Marske (Base). The only slight downside is that being on the groundfloor, you do hear noise from the neighbours upstairs. But overall, the house really is lovely with beautiful furnishings.

Extremely Dissatisfied

The property has not been maintained to a reasonable standard and the cleaning schedule is inadequate. We completed a ‘first impressions’ feedback but I don’t think it has been looked at. We have not had a reply. We can provide full details of all the issues with this property along with photos. We are in the process of sending a formal complaint.

Comfortable and stylish flat.

My impression of this property was that thought had been put into the furnishings and decor. The bed linen and towels were lovely and clean. The modern kitchen was fully equipped but not a drop of cleaning fluid was provided which was, I think, an oversight.

Little gem

A pretty little gem. The place is immaculate. Lovely modern decor, super clean linen, clean bathroom. Nice space to be in. Little garden- not big enough for children but I don’t have any. Does have a cute table and chair to sit out if the weather is nice. The town is well equipped with some takeaways, shops, restaurants etc. The beach is gorgeous and a stone throw from the house/studio. Lovely little community garden in front of the property. The downside is the on road parking. Due to it being so close to the beach others park their in the day but it didn’t detract from a well priced, well positioned stay on the N/E coast. Pretty and a lovely walk to Saltburn along the beach only a few miles.

Weekend in marske by the sea

We book d a last minute spontaneous trip with my elderly parent and this home was just the job close enough to everything for father to amble around and nice quality of finish in the home

Retreat by the sea was great. Clean modern and well equipped. It was lovely to be 100 meter walk from the beach. And a scenic 40 min walk to Saltburn on sea.

Lovely house near the beach

A relaxing house to stay in just a short stroll to the beach and the shops. Takes about an hour to walk to Saltburn along the seafront. Ample space and nice rear yard to sit in in the evening. Dog friendly, Would cheerfully stay again.

The property is beautiful and well equipped. You couldn’t ask for a better location. It is worth noting that the garden area is NOT private however this did not impact negatively on our stay.

Absolutely Perfect

This cottage is perfect, so amazingly clean seems brand new, could not have wanted for more, beach 2min walk, close to everything in Marske, fully fitted kitchen for all your needs, would definitely recommend to anyone

Lovely place ideal location 2 minutes from the beach and few minutes to shops. Everything you need but if there were 4 people the second smaller bedroom has no wardrobe so storage may be an issue
