Amazing location and accommodating staff

Tbilisi is an amazing city and this hotel puts you right in the center of it. The amenities are basic, but the service was so personal and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this to others who are looking for a simple place to stay.

Horrible hotel

After 75 countries and hundreds of hotels, we here found the worst service ever! - "Your problem", said the girl in the reception as we showed her our booking, clearly spelling out a room with balcony and city view. We got a sad-looking room with small roof window and no balcony. - On check-out she wanted 25 USD in "tax". I showed her the receipt from hotels.com, and that the tax was already paid. Then she wanted 25 USD for the pick up at the airport. The price of taxi is 8 USD (35 GEL), and she never explained why she suddenly should be paid in dollars. "Are you crazy", she yelled when we tried to argue. - The pick-up at the airport had left before we had got the luggage, after 30 minutes he returned and told us we should have been quicker. 0630 in the morning. - We got the room we had ordered after 1 night, and SIX hours and a lot of arguing. We had to show the booking receipt 9 times, but she still didn't agree with us for some reason. - The breakfast is in the reception with no windows. Find another place to stay!

Good mid-range find.

Excellently situated, the hotel is a short walk to everywhere and has arguably one of the best views in the city. The staff are all very keen to do whatever they can to help and provided lots of advice and logistical support. The rooms are clean, bright and airy. Not luxurious but great value and worth a lot more due to staff, location and views.

Would not stay there again (nice staff though!)

We booked a 35 sq m room with a double and a single bed (and paid for this!), instead we were given a small room with two single beds. When we asked about our room, we were met with a shrug. We had to push the beds together to make a double, but we had a gap in the middle. Room was basic, but clean. Bathroom, however, smelled awful (from the drain). The shower had a curtain that was too short, so the water was all over the bathroom, and stayed a while as the drain was clogged. Breakfast was basic, but eggs were good. Extremely dry bread (surprising as Georgia has sooo much good bread). The staff were lovely, but when we asked for taxi service to Kazbegi, we were given double price of what you could get it for in the street. They said "special price for our guests" - and special it was indeed. We saved almost a 100 lari by going outside and hailing a regular taxi.
