Location is very nice, the public area just ok. The hotel is old, rooms are classic style, a little old but very well maintained. Service was ok, and for sure i will stay there again. The price is decent for the quality. Unfortunately you have no view:(
It is situated close to the city attractions. Clean and well maintained hotel. The breakfast is good with live counter for omelettes. The Georgian omelette was yummy. We stayed in Executive room which gave access to Executive lounge- a good place for business people to meet up and have light refreshments. Also had free early light dinner at the lounge. Only thing is the dinner closes at 7.30 pm which is too early.
I stayed there last month. I gave my credit card for preauthorization. And I paid with my credit card at the checkout. It has been a week and they still did not cancel the preauthorization. I don't know if they will cancel it ever. But even if they do, it already caused me a lot of problems since my limit is blocked!!! If you decide to go and pay with your credit card, make sure they cancel preauthorization.
I had a really nice stay here. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I was given a free upgrade to a room with a view of the square. My room was very comfortable and well appointed with a really good bed. I liked the amount of cupboard space and the free water. The bathroom had good running water and nice toiletries. The breakfast was very good. I particularly recommend the omelette chef who does a really great omelette. They do a range of breakfast options at different prices and the food is very tasty. The location is great for the old town and the shopping areas. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Seems like it used to be a nice place to stay in town. Not anymore - the entrance lobby has a cheap feel of a train station, the rooms could be updated - I did stay in a spacious suite, but there was no heating, only the air con that worked haphazardly... The safe in my room also did not seem to be working - the reception sent someone who could not fix it. Did not want to take it up with the management and waste my time visiting Tbilisi trying to figure out the safe and air con logistics. People working in the hotel were incredibly nice - but that is generally the case with all Georgians that I have met.
My trip to Georgia was great and great in Marriott Tbilisi as l have a membership in Marriott Hotels now. Really lovely helpful receptionist she gave me the room l wanted and with the greatest view of Samiba Cathedral which l can see every morning, in cafe of the hotel very nice helpful girls served me a great tea, the great supervisor lady in the cafe was so sweet with me. Receptionist girls gave me map and was asking me if l need any help of what l can visit in the city, truly will go again to Marriott Tbilisi Hotel. Attached photo of me with the lovely stuff the receptionists girls and attached photos the view from my room as you can see Samiba Cathedral and another small church next to Marriott Tbilisi Hotel. Last photo famous square the freedom Square.
I stayed at this property during a last minute trip to Georgia & Armenia with a friend. I booked using points and as a Platinum Marriott member we had access to the lounge. The room was comfortable and the balcony was nice to open in the evenings. The staff were very helpful as well. We had arrived from Armenia a little later in the evening and were exhausted. The lounge serves dinner until 9 and even though we arrived 9pm the woman clean up the dinner/drinks in the lounge gave us drinks and some food. It was nice as we were able to just relax and not have to go back out that evening for food. The location is also wonderful. We walked all over and truly enjoyed the city.
I stayed here on two different occasions during my visit to Georgia. Both stays were GREAT! Here are the pros on this hotel: spacious, very clean, quiet rooms with good AC and very comfortable beds; very professional, friendly and helpful staff; excellent location close to museums, opera house, shops, restaurants; absolutely scrumptious breakfast with yummy omelettes and pastries; beautiful lobby and common areas filled with old world charm and elegance. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tbilisi.
We spend five days here in October. It is a slightly dated property but in a great location, just off the square and near the historic district. We had, and I suggest you get, a room facing the square. Breakfast was excellent and the people superb. A few little things but then this is travel. This hotel was suggested to us by MIR, an excellent travel company which specializes in this part of the world and is located in Seattle.
after a bad experience with another hotel in the city we arrived to Marriot at 7:00 A.M and though the hotel is fully booked but the front disk staff were very nice and helpful and promised to check us in as soon as rooms becomes available but not before 11. by 9:30 we were in the rooms with more help from another staff also called Mariana if I am not wrong... so I do give the thump up for the extra nice and very helpful staff at the front disk. The hotel is very much conveniently located and with easy access to most attractions in the city and within walking distance to the city centre. Clean and comfortable but house keeping must do a better job !!! specially in updating the room with amenities when used .. while my friend got an executive room, I got the Terrace suite which was specious and beautiful with very nice views but for a suite you do expect a better quality and more amenities specially in the bathroom (very poor) and a very I mean very small shower beds are comfortable TV is an issue with 2 news channels in English and no entertainment channels in English what so ever (which is a very bad point) (talking about free TV) Breakfast and food in general is an average and acceptable. if returning to the city, this will be my choice for sure in any case..
