We went to Georgia at the end of January’17 (yes it’s a late late late review). We had booked a 3 nights stay at the Courtyard Marriott (though we really wanted to stay at the Marriott, but we didn’t find availability) & bravely went with the last minute arrangements we had done. I had called the hotel in advance and advised that I was coming in much earlier & would request an early check in. we came and made ourselves comfortable in the small lobby of the hotel for a long haul till we got our room. Hotel was not modern but was very comfortable and clean. I went to the front desk to meet the staff who were these ladies beaming with big smiles. Natia who was at night shift & I spoke to was not only a charming lady but also a great host but took out time to guide this novice new comer to town with instructions on where & what to eat, hidden treasures of the city, best money exchange places, tourist traps, museums, art galleries, local language words etc…… all from the perspective of a resident. She also arranged to get my check in done much before time, arranged me to have my breakfast once the restaurant was open & a lovely lady Katia who took over to assist me. Once I was geared up & fueled with food, which was a decent but a great spread, I went to my room and retired to a good amiable room with decent amenities and great upkeep. I had a great time till I was leaving and met another staff – Eva, who assisted me to get a cab for which she called her own know cab who charged me almost nothing as compared to other cabs on the street. So overall - Room – not modern or eclectic but to its credit – great, staff – couldn’t fault them anywhere, Room service – great, location – epicenter. Travelling back to the airport and all this while before I wrote this, I was thinking how much i was taken by surprise to see a big picture of the hotel staff hanging an “All Girls Team” picture on the wall right beside the reception which was unusual to see in any hotel & they were holding an award and laughing joyously in it………………. And I know after my stay and experience why.
I would normally stay in a locally owned hotel, but the friend I stayed with had already booked the Courtyard. I was happy with this choice. I stayed for four nights and was really happy with the hotel and the location. It's on Freedom Square and right on the edge of the old town. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. There's a mini-fridge and a kettle with instant coffee and tea. Breakfast was really good and the room was very quiet considering it faced the busy square. If your room faces the square then you'll probably need to close the blackout curtains at night since there is a huge TV screen flashing ads that is on top of a building that faces the hotel. I didn't notice the light once the curtains were closed. If you're visiting Tbilisi as a tourist then this is a superb location. The old town starts across the square from the hotel. My first and best meal in Georgia was a minute's walk from hotel at Sakhli #11. The free walking tour (recently re-named Tbilisi Hack Free Tours) meets outside the hotel on the right side of the square. My flight arrived in Tbilisi in the afternoon. I took the local city bus from the airport and the bus stops outside the hotel on Freedom Square. It took about 45 minutes. Super cheap (0.50 GEL = $0.20 USD) and super easy since I already had some coins.
I stayed at the Marriot Courtyard for two nights in May 2017, on a short city break with a friend. The hotel is very well situated smack in the center of Tbilisi with access to all the main attractions, good restaurants and so on. It is clean and the staff is highly professional. The hotel offers a decent gym with standard equipment in pleasant surroundings. There is a sauna and a smallish, but nice, pool. Happily, the opening hours for these facilities are much better than I have experienced in other hotels. This is a big advantage if you have early meetings to get to and need to use the gym early in the morning. We were on the 5th floor which was perfect as the height provided a great view as well as reducing the noise level from the street. Freedom Square is very highly trafficked, noisy and chaotic, so it is important that the rooms facing the square are well insulated. Mine seemed to be so, as street noise was not overly concerning- at least on the 5th floor. The room was a reasonable size with shower-in-tub bathroom. Standard hotel furniture, nothing remarkable or particularly charming, nor disturbing. The bed was comfortable. Kettle in the room with a good supply of tea and coffee. International TV channels with a fairly reasonable range of languages. Breakfast is served in a caffe-like environment on the ground floor. It was adequate though not exceptional. Everything was fresh and omelettes could be made to order on the spot. Perhaps a wider selection of fresh fruit could be provided, but there was enough on offer, if not an abundance. The service at breakfast was attentive and smiling during our visit. In general, we found the hotel staff to be professional and kind. All in all I found this hotel to be a very good, if somewhat 'generic' feeling option for either business or leisure in Tbilisi.
The location of the hotel is very excellent in the center of the city overlooking the freedom square, the cleanliness is good, there is no room service, the reception staff are very helpful ،They will try to help you as much as possible, you should carry your bags to your room on your own, suitable for business travel more than rest and recreation
Reception ladies were very helpful for our family from booking airport drops to Resturants' bookings and sharing some good tips on the city, really all were very kind Very clean rooms and an amazing view of main square plus in the middle of everything
Your typical average business/tourist-style courtyard Marriott. Staff is very friendly and the hotel is nice and clean. Location is also great. Very quiet at night. Rooms have a beautiful view of the square.
perfect location for a tourist..everything is walking distance from the hotel...Sub is under the hotel....all the night places are close by along with shopping streets...highly recommended....stayed as a ady traveller...
Held a multi-country business conference here in March. Rooms were arranged as agreed, staff friendly and responsive. We booked dinner buffets both nights for the group and food was of good quality (would expect more if had ordered ala carte of course). Overall comfortable hotel, located in best area of Tbilisi.
The hotel has an unbeatable location both for business travelers and tourists. The quality of rooms and services are somewhat higher than a typical courtyard, but not yet up to the five-starred hotel level. Their choices for buffet breakfast is generally OK and their lunch menu is also OK and not expensive.
One of the best four star hotel in Georgia. The location is prime. It is located at Freedom Square, Tbilisi. The service is very good with friendly staffs. The rooms are big and very comfortable. My room, 306 is one of the best as you can see the whole view of beautiful Tbilisi. During Christmas time, a huge Christmas tree with dazzling lights was erected exactly on the central of Freedom Square roundabout and in front of my room window. It was a spectacular sight by night.it was so unforgettable memory. The room rate is so reasonably good. I would recommend to anybody to stay at this hotel for money worth and the convenience of the location. You can walk around the area freely as there is where all the happenings took place. The shopping area, the restaurants, the massage parlous( decent ones) and the bars and discos are all located just opposite the hotel. There are plenty of taxis around and the rates are so cheap. It is very safe to walk around 24 hours. The Georgians are friendly and honest people. My friends and I walked till the wee hours of the morning after dining and discoing and we walked back to the Courtyard Marriot without encountering any negative incident.
