## Neighborhood

Tavira is a picturesque city, nestled between long sandy beaches and the rolling hills of the Ria Formosa estuary. Known for its charming blend of unique architecture, cobbled streets, and squares, Tavira preserves the feel of a traditional Algarve fishing village.

The city offers live music, a vibrant nightlife with tapas and fine dining, and a variety of shops and restaurants, including bakeries with fresh bread and pastries. The central Gilão River adds to the charm, with a Roman bridge providing beautiful views from Praça da República.

Just outside the city, explore the salt flats and the natural beauty of the Ria Formosa estuary, home to migratory birds. Tavira Island, a short boat ride away, offers sandy beaches, bars, and restaurants. Nearby, Barril Beach can be accessed by a tourist train, and Terra Estreita Beach by boat.

## Transit

There is public transport available in the area and all around the Algarve. But bus and trains do not go very often and a (rental) car is recommended
