Leaving a review to let Travellers know that this place deserves a better rating and reviews than what some Travellers have left. We had a great stay! The property is older and could use some upgrades but it was exactly suited for our stay. Property is right on a canal where you can see Tarpon, Manatees and other fish, if you have a boat you can dock right there. Our stay was quiet and peaceful and housekeeping took care of any needs we had. Its within walking distance of a few restaurants, dive shop, bait shop, snorkel tour. I would recommend Lido73, Mar Bar and Old Tavernier restaurants all within walking distance. Just know it not the 4 seasons just and older property that will suit your needs. I would definitely come stay again.

The room needs to have a deep cleaning service. Everything we touch, it was full of dust. I had to use a washcloth to wipe every single thing literally! The wall apparently was fixed but poorly done. It was definitely NOT a 3 star hotel. Not worth for the amount of money I had to pay for 1 night stay.

We had a creekside room but no view unless you were on the patio which other people were using our table and chairs. I guess I assumed that each rooms table and chairs was for the rooms use and not just anyone that was staying at the motel. The only window we had facing the canal was our tiny bathroom window. The other window faced the road and it had frosted coating so you couldn't see out of it either. Definitely didn't get a room that was pictured. The room was big and the a/c worked great. Parking was tight. Overall not what I was expecting and probably won't return since there are other properties similar in price that we have stayed at.

We give credit to the staff - when we had a problem members were right there to deal with (as much as possible) with our issues. As the property is "aged" not all amenities were acceptable (not on water-view side). Pluses were that room and bedding was clean, bathroom supplies well stocked. Had plumbing problem in bathroom, but staff response was immediate and a solution was found. I would describe the property as a "sportsman's accommodation" with some comforts for occupants.

The location was ok. Easily accessible but limited amenities close by. The rooms were clean but dated. We were unable to get hot water to shower and the front desk was only open limited hours so we were unable to ask anyone about the hot water issue.
