Hotel Dorpat is located in the center of Tartu. Good parking options, bus station is nearby,15min by car to airport. Staff is professional and friendly. It was very quiet in the room. No fridge. It was clean and bed was comfortable. Pillow was kind of small and too soft for me, but they offer a "pillow rent" if you need something better. Breakfast was tasty. Choices were good and included all the basic food options. Suggested especially for business travellers.
Dorpat hotel in Tartu is a nice modern hotel in the city center. Quite a large hotel with many rooms. Room standard is rather good and the rooms are nice. Not very expensive, around 75 euro/night. The hotel is located in the city center, so it is close to almost everything. Recommended!
Friendly reception. Clean and no small rooms. A bit poor sound isolation, keep it in mind. Some rooms have a fridge some don’t. Average breakfast. Dogs are welcome for an extra fee. Parking options are available. Close to a small mall.
The room was very clean and bright and had a lovely view over the river. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. My stay was very pleasant and I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Tartu.
Breakfast was excellent I was worried after reading other reviews ... no problem Excellent fruits eggs cold-cuts granola yogurt cakes and coffee Room is clean large and convenient Lots of obit electric outlets Great location Simply on the bus station and yet very quiet Easy access to everything in town including jogging path Will come back
Stayed in the Dorpat on business for two nights in October. Very nice, clean hotel. Good service at reception with quick check in and out. Rooms had everything required and were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was OK - buffet style and standard fare. All round a good hotel.
The best characteristic feature is its location. The room was clean and I had a strange feeling all the time. Staff is friendly and with all answers. Breakfast was OK.Didn´t like the taste of coffee. Tartu is the town which offers courses, lectures, meetings, conferences and people gather here all the time and from different fields. The price is mainly for the location, for short walks to the strategic places, not the quality.
Good location - near to several shopping centers and to old town as well. The hotel was nice - the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable enough. Rather good breakfast; friendly and helpful staff.
Sitting in what feels like a bit like a posh school canteen (the breakfast room/ restaurant), eating dried-out scrambled eggs and watery yoghurt, and drinking too-strong orange squash from a machine, I’m genuinely perplexed what constitutes “excellent” in some reviewers’ books. This place *really* does not excel in any respect. It’s a modern, clean, 2 star standard, block hotel devoid of any charm or character whatsoever. It’s located close to a shopping mall and the entrance opens onto the Tartu bus station. On the other side is the river, which at least is semi-attractive. The rooms are relatively small, quite basic, and have zero thrills or design elements. There are some practical problems like overlooking (no net curtains or screens), the windows only open 5cm, and although there was a/c I wasn’t convinced it was actually working. There is fast free Wi-fi (5 Mbps) which is handy. Bathrooms are basic wet-room style in a dark burgundy. There’s a shower curtain and the room flooded when I had a shower. The temperature intermittently changed from warm to cold. Breakfast was weak. As already touched on, the eggs were dry, the yoghurt watery, and the “juice” straight out of a machine. There’s one choice of bread, virtually no pastries, and the atmosphere is clinical. If the hotel were £40 a night I could forgive it much; you get what you pay for. But at £65 in a location like Tartu, it is taking the mickey. It’s IBIS standard with nine of the good design features of newly refitted IBISes and without the quality breakfast. + Free Wi-fi + Clean + Convenient location - Bland in every respect - Poor breakfast - Poor value for money Summary: it’s characterless budget conference hotel that doesn’t offer budget prices.
Dorpat is a nice hotel. Rooms are comfortable enough, good beds. And room was clean. We had a view to the river and small market place behind the hotel. Hotel is close to Tasku shopping mall and old town. Spa is nice. Only negative point was mad rush at the breakfast and had to wait for coffee and other foods several times.
