Florida's Alafia River Get-Away

This would be a fun get-away mini vacation on the historical Alafia River named by the Indians years ago; Alafia meaning 'River of Fire'.

The downstairs studio: Exclusively decorated white tile floor, l6 ft of closet space with mirror doors, all new appliances and granite counter tops. It has an outstanding view from the whole apartment. To just sit and relax or from the bed you can just marvel out at the river through the 20 ft of sliding glass doors. With this view, you can overlook the patio deck and boardwalk dock where you can enjoy fishing, relaxing, or water watching with pleasure. It has a small, man-made sand beach on 1/2 of the property and a fun tiki-hut on the other side for your favorite cocktail mixing, etc. This unit includes a washer and dryer.


There are 3 happening spots on the river just minutes away offering live music, karaoke, food, and fun. There is a pontoon rental just across the river which you could use to visit the three hot spots, or go to the local spring up the river (very popular with the locals on the weekends). Heading out to Tampa Bay (just minutes from the house), is a popular sand beach island where you can beach your boat and enjoy meeting with other boaters.

Relaxing vacation.

My husband and I were very satisfied with our stay in Riverview, Florida in March of 2022. We were close to friends, shopping, cinema, restaurants or we could just sit on the patio and watch the activity on the river. Our hostess, Candace was very nice and very accommodating. We would be very open to returning next year.

River View Hide Away

Directly in Alifia River. Saw a Porpoise and many birds. Near I-75 traffic for a constant din but ok. Can quickly get to downtown Tampa on US Rte 41 and down to Ruskin area on same. Rental is great. Supplied with cooking necessities and a wine cork remover!!

Quick weekend get away

Our hostess was a delight and the accomdations were comfortable and clean. The property itself needs a little tender loving care. It was a beautiful location on the river, but there was a lot of stuff laying around the yard.

Really sweet property on the river - very welcoming backyard set up with lots of seating and tiki bar. It was perfect for what we needed. Unfortunately we were in meetings most of the time and not able to enjoy sitting out back much, but the unit was thoughtfully stocked with everything you'd need and was just perfect for our needs.

A little slice of paradise.

It is a gorgeous setting. I was stranded in the area and Candice was kind enough to allow me to stay at her place for a couple of weeks. Spending the mornings on her dock with the fish jumping out of the river and the birds gliding inches above the water was extremely relaxing. But the piece de resistance was when several dolphins swam by 5 feet from the end of her dock. I wish I hadn't had to leave.

Tranquility and Beauty

The condo is awesome! The view is amazing! The owner is spectacular! We rented the condo at the last minute and did not meet the minimum required stay, no problem. Candice was one the those special people that come into your life and you hope never goes away. She even provided me with a cat (Willow) to love and take care of when she found out how badly I was missing my own babies! The condo is everything and more. It is beautifully furnished and decorated, but not so much that you need to worry about breaking some thing or having a place to put your own stuff. The kitchen was a dream. New appliances, sharp knives (very rare for a rental property), good pots and pans (never in a rental), nice dishes and plenty of them. A cooks dream while on vacation. The bedroom had a nice bed that actually adjusted for TV watching or just drinking morning coffee and enjoying the view of the river through the double glass patio doors. Plenty of closet and drawer space for storage of your clothes and vacation goodies. Another plus was the blackout curtains across both patio doors, feel free to sleep late! No 6 am sunrise alarm clock. The living area was just as nice. very comfortable with a coffee table for casual dining again with a view through patio doors and black out curtains. The backyard was like a fairy tail. Beautifully decorated with views of the river 20 foot away. At night the yard came alive with solar lights and whimsical lit up flowers. There were several choices of seating with tables so you could always find shade a few feet away. We spent most mornings drinking coffee and watching the boats on the river. Their is ample dock-age and parking if you choose to bring a boat. I finally got up the courage to jump in the river for a swim, no problem getting back out from a platform or ladder on the pier. There are so many great things to say about this property and the owner it is hard to write about. We rented 4 properties through VRBO over a 5 week period all lived up to our expectations but this far exceeded them! We really were not planning another trip to Florida and won't go back to the Keys, but we are already talking about returning here next year with our boat. It is a short 5 to 10 minutes to the gulf and fishing is excellent. I simply can't say enough great tings about Riverview and the surrounding area. I dug up some of her Bird of Paradise plants, they are on my deck, I smile each time I look at them and think of Candice. A true Gem!
