This place was perfect for the town. The location is on the northern end of the main strip, but is easily within walking distance of the main beach and most restaurants it the area. The pool area was great too. You can see that the town is coming back to life after a Covid shutdown and at the Best Western they have been doing all they can to cater to the customer. Breakfast has been delivered to the room in the morning by the staff and is a great substitute for the restaurant being closed. The pool has swim up bar and again while a bit limited in options, they have gone above and beyond with service and price to accommodate for that.. The price for our stay versus value was unmatched in any of the three different places we stayed during the trip and I will be back again!

I stayed at another hotel in Tamarindo which had a lot of traffic noise this was a better option

i thought the property was nice & tropical with the old charm some doors & items could be fixed

Beautiful room. Wonderful staff. Maria Cruz, Jennifer, Eric all very helpfull. Good breakfast. Great view and pool. Best value in Tamarindo!

Has a queen bed ocean view room. Nice view and balcony. Room was small, very simple and old. Shower worked good. Desk area for sitting/working. The key card reader on the door did not work very well. It took multiple attempts to gain entry and once had to have the maid let me in. Bar staff are nice. Nice pool. Great views from pool area.

When booking the room we were looking for the location (close to beach) and basic room amenities. Pool for us was a bonus. We were looking to save money on lodging so we could do more adventures. It was a good balance. Pros: Location, Pool, on-sight restaurant/bar, great staff, large room, safe, fridge, coffee pot in room, free breakfast & Wi-Fi. Prompt response for maintenance/issues. Workout room/weight room. Rooms were clean compared to other places I saw in Costa Rica. As expected based on booking sight information. Cons: Layout of the property could improve. Reception is far away from most rooms, the parking lots are rock so carrying suitcases is essential (not that big of a issue for me). Sink was missing the drain stop & the inside was full of something gross. I am not a fan of the floor polish used (makes the floors slippery). Other: Major construction was taking place outside our room (building a new set of rooms) so this was loud but we were not in the rooms most days (2 times we wanted to nap and couldn’t, oh well). It’s understood construction and is needed to make the place better. That being said it would have been nice for the balcony to get wiped down daily (lots of dust). I thought it was odd there is no towel hanger by the sink, or a soap dish (I used a cup). The breakfast was good (same thing every day), I liked the coffee. The Friday night party was a lot of fun the band was very good! I would stay here again!!

They only down fall about here is they should have Ice available for the guest .

No creature comforts. We had to walk up 90 steps each way every day. No elevators, no formal reception, bad food, and price gouging.

The staff is really friendly and nice. Also, the hotel has a party every Friday night, and we arrived on a Friday which was perfect. Overall, we enjoyed staying in this hotel.

Clean room, suite actually. Professionall stuff at reception. Wonderfull housekeeper.

Hotel loaned out snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, etc. for free. Pool was nice and view was amazing (!). Great location next to a few restaurants and a supermarket. Room had a nice terrace but was missing a table and chair. All staff members were friendly when approached. Loved my stay. On Fridays they organize a huge pool party so make sure you get a room far from the pool if you are not planning to join the party. We were in the furthest room and barely heard anything.

Our room was small but clean. Good food. Lovely view of the ocean. We would stay there again.

Hotel overall was great very friendly and it was exactly what I was looking for. Thanx to the stuff for being so friendly and awesome.definately coming back.

By Costa Rica standards this hotel is great especially for the value. Clean rooms and the ocean view on the balconies are beautiful. The property was well maintained and above average medium-larger sized pool. good hotel for families. Not on the beach but pretty much next to it- About a block away. Continental breakfast was slightly above average.

It was a wonderful hotel. Beautiful views and a great pool. Easy beach access and easy walk to all the great dining shopping. They did host a loud pool party on Friday night. They did warn the guests and provide ear plugs. But we would still go again!

Over a period of 3 days we stayed in 3 different rooms. The first was their standard garden room. Cheap, for a reason. We paid a 50 percent premium to upgrade to a much larger 2 bed ocean view room. This room was a huge improvement. Unfortunately, we needed to extend our stay one additional day and were forced to move again. This time we paid even more for what was billed as their surfer's apartment. A 2 bedroom, 1 bath freestanding building. We couldn't have gotten worse for our money. It was filthy! The air conditioner didn't work. The toilet wouldn't flush and the apartment reeked of mildew, leaving us both with sore throats and severe headaches by the next morning. All and all, an expensive and unpleasant stay. We would not return to this hotel.

I have to say that I appreciate very much the friendliness of the entire staff on the hotel from the front desk Maricruz and his assistant to the people of the restaurant make of my stay a very memorable experience. You got to love the Best Western Tamarido Vista Villas.

We had a great first trip to Costa Rica and overall a good time.

We had an amazing time at the Best Western Vista Villas! The location was perfect for us because we were a short walk across the street to the beach, and a short walk back when we were done surfing! We stayed in a room that had a partial ocean view, and the view was amazing. Our room was great for the two of us, but also great for a family with small kids who wouldn't mind sleeping in the living room area. We saved a lot of money having a kitchen to make lunches, but still enjoyed the nightlife and restaurants in Tamarindo. They also have a party Friday night that it seems the whole town comes to, we had a great time but if you are looking for a relaxing Friday night request a room farther away from the pool area. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast, there weren't hot options but we thought the crepes were great and had plenty of choices to fuel us for a long day of surfing. Not to mention the views from the pool/restaurant area were truly breath taking. One thing I noticed was that there were a lot of children at the pool most days. The staff was great!!! We came home from the beach everyday to a clean room, including having all of our dishes done for us which was an unexpected perk! I've stayed in Tamarindo at another place and we had issues with the shower going from hot to cold randomly, but not at the Best Western! We enjoyed nice long hot showers! Overall, this was a great option for people looking for an affordable place, without sacrificing location and great service!
