A very pleasant stay. A bit out of the way, but I suppose that is part of it's charm. A nice pool and relaxing environment. Breakfast was good, but not a lot of choice. Don't go there expecting a beach vacation as it is a 45 minute drive to the nearest beach. Road to the property is pretty rough, but that's typical of off the beaten path properties. The bungalows were very clean and comfortable. Owners were Francophones and communicating was occasionally a bit of a challenge. Unlike all the other places we stayed, check out is 10 am.

This is a beautiful property. Accommodation suitable for couples but maybe not so much for people sharing due to the open room concept and bathroom not being separated. They serve a nice breakfast.

Gorgeous property. Beyond meticulous attention to detail in the cabins and the landscaping. Perfect for a couples getaway driving from Nosara to Tamarindo. Owners were so friendly and welcoming, breakfast delicious - we felt right at home! Thanks for the tranquil stay!

We enjoyed the Baliyana Lodge very much. The owners were very friendly and pleasant people and they put their personal touch into making our stay a wonderful experience. The breakfasts were amazing. The cabin was private and beautiful and we slept well in a comfortable bed. The infinity pool overlooking the mountain forest was breathtaking. Amazing wildlife all around in this peaceful setting. The drive was its own experience as the roads were heavily damaged by the rains, but the Baliyana Lodge was well worth it. Highly recommend - a perfect 10 experience!

Wonderful people own the property. A great Breakfast is cooked every morning. The pool, grounds and area around the property are beautiful. Clean rooms, hot water and excellent service. Be careful what car you use as the dirt roads leading to the property get a bit rough. Otherwise there is not negative thing I could say. I will definitely be returning to these gorgeous cabins soon! Merci

Baliyana is beautiful

Second time staying here, wonderful owners, the grounds you will see are a labour of love an are meticulously kept, the cabins are gorgeous and very comfortable. The breakfasts are always delicious and moonlit swims in the pool are the best Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away from it all an fall in love with nature

Really enjoyed my stay. The large bungalow is very cute and nicely finished. They have tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was excellent. I loved the negative edge pool with views of the jungle. The owner was very nice. I also loved how quiet, private and safe it was.

Our stay at Baliyana

This place was the best part of our trip, the grounds are pristine and spotless, the accommodations are fantastic and incredibly comfortable, the owners are incredible and friendly. You’re only a short drive of 10 min or so from the best beach in Costa Rica. Baliyana is a 15 outa 10! When you arrive you feel as though your arriving at a high end retreat, it is a simply stunning place that my wife an I cannot say enough great things about how wonderful a stay it was. The only thing not offered as part of the accommodation is a TV… and too be honest after our stay was over, we did not miss it at all, we we’re actually glad by the end of the stay that we didn’t waste one second our days exploring the area and enjoying the property

Baliyana Lodge was an incredible stay! It is a quiet, serene location with beautiful views. Off the beaten path but within 30-35min drive to local beaches and Tamarindo. There are also a few restaurants within a 15min drive. If you are looking for a place that is unique, clean, calm, and still close to town I would definitely recommend staying here. We hope to be back.

My wife, myself and our two friends had an excellent experience at this property. The property is absolutely stunning and impeccably maintained. The cabins are clean, modern and very beautiful. The breakfast was very good. You do need a 4x4 vehicle with decent clearance to access this property. The property is located about 30-35 minutes from Tamarindo beach and requires moderate off-roading skills on an unpaved, very bad road. Also, we did not see a whole lot in terms of food options in the surrounding area so keep that in mind.

This place is AMAZING! If you want to relax, if you want to be surrounded by nature, see the stars without any light pollution, stay in a beautiful cabin, and maybe see some monkeys, stop searching. Book this place. I almost didn’t write the review because I don’t want anyone to know about this hidden gem. The fruit they served at breakfast was fresh. The property is so clean. The owners are so nice. It’s a tiny piece of heaven.

Horrible experience. The description of location and facilities did not match reality. The description said that the place is 10 minutes from Tamarindo. It was 45 minutes away with significant driving on unpaved road. It was extremely difficult and dangerous to drive on in the dark. The facility only accepted cash. This was not stated in the terms and conditions during reservation. Would not recommend this place to anyone

Amazing Stay!

Baliyana Lodge is an amazing little gem in the jungle! The service was phenomenal and the grounds are absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend staying here for a place “off the beaten path”, but yet close enough to the beaches and activities. The road to get to the lodge is a dirt path that can be rough in many areas, but well worth the trek.

Wonderful experience!

Really lovely couple running a small B&B with individual bungalows. It was just far enough away from Tamarindo... absolute peace and quiet, but still within driving distance for the day. The road's unpaved, so a 4x4 is probably recommended. The grounds are very well maintained and pool is wonderful, with abundant wildlife all around you. The hosts have some great recommendations that we wouldn't have known about otherwise, which led to some of the highlights of our trip. Definitely recommend!
