I stayed at the Dolamanco Hotel overal for 7 nights (4 nights and 3 nights). On each occasion I found the room (703) very well serviced, the breakfast was excellent and management, 1st class and very polite. I'm not sure what I paid for the room cos I booked and paid thru a travel agent but if I had booked direct and I did ask what the cost per day is for any future stay If or when I return to Taipei and was told around $100 Aussie. I think the weekend maybe $10 extra. Lastly, its location (near Daan Park railway station) is excellent for getting around. I enjoyed my stay there and would thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay.
I couldn't find the hotel at first coz they have the very shady frosted doors at the main entrance like a hourly motel. That gives me a bad impression already n I started to doubt the hygiene... Turns out it was acceptable... Just not too pleasant. They requested me to leave the old school metal room key at the counter everytime I go out n claim it back again when I m back...that's weird! The non smoking room still smells like an giant ashtray The fabrics on the furnitures r mostly worn out & damaged The whole bathroom & sewage stinks The location is nice with parkview, that's the only good thing about it! With room rate NT$4400, I deserve sthg nicer in Taipei city I supposed
Good position but is all. The reception is small, and the girl is a little rude. Elevator is slow and very small. 2 People. The bedroom door is hard to open. Room is not to big but is ok, bad is too soft and small. Not too clean. Air conditioner is noisy, the bathroom is not separated from shower (is ever wet). Mirror is rusted. Breakfast room is small, dirt and breakfast..... We can say to the same price near by you can have more!
We stayed here for 9D8N with 2 Senior and 2 Toddlers. It's our daughters really loves the location. Infront of this hotel, it's Da-An Park, there's playground and very clean, kids loves it. For the adults also can relax at the park. But hotel room are quite small. Their front desk were very helpful. Housekeeping was very EXCELLENT.. Everyday they clean our rooms, and Toiletries were complete (everyday refilled the toiletries). Snack bar and drinks are compliments (also every day refilled). Really loves their breakfast. It's typical Taiwanese Breakfast. Elevator is quite small. Very near to MRT Station 1 min. walk only. There's 2 711 nearby also. Every weekend there's Flowers Shop you can check it out. Little bit further but still can walk it, there's LOTS of restaurant and Shopping... Very happy with our stay esp. it's new yr eve. We watched fireworks at 101 bldg. It's big WOW... Just across to Da-An Park you can see the fireworks...
The Dolamanco is a fine hotel if you are visiting the city for a few days. The room was comfortable enough, and the view from my window on the front of the building was of a nice park. The bathroom was a little run-down, and there was still evidence of the previous guest there (hair in the tub and around the sink), but overall it was not too bad. I had no complaints about the bed, and the air conditioning worked (which is not always the case in "budget" hotels in Asia). Breakfast was included, and was average. There were typical Asian foods and a few "western" dishes, mostly fried has browns, hot dogs and chicken nuggets. The staff were all excellent! Overall, I would recommend it, but only for 2-3 nights.
We stayed twice in this hotel, which is situated in a quiet area, with an MRT station and a large park across the road. Convenience stores and fast food are only a block away and shops and more restaurants a little bit further but, easy to walk on well paved, well lit and seemingly safe streets to walk, even late at night. Given that we were most of the time exploring Taipei, we found the hotel 100% satisfactory. There was nothing we could wish for. Breakfast was included in the price and consisted of a KFC voucher; an opportunity that we skipped. Staff at all times of the day and night were extremely kind, helpful and professional (like almost everybody we encountered in Taiwan). Room was fit for the two of us, the bed could be a bit harder for our taste, but it is perfect for young lovers.
Very helpful staff that speaks English. They can arrange pick at the airport for 1000 NT dollars about $33 US. This can be less than a cab costs and eliminates language problems at the airport. Rooms are clean and kept up well. Nice breakfast included with different vegetable dishes, fresh cooked eggs and usual Chinese breakfast items. Walking distance to the best dumplings in the ? world at original Din Tai Fung restaurant. This is a busman's hotel it is not a 4star hotel.
We stayed at this hotel for one night because our first choice was already booked. This is an old building. Very small rooms; ours had a small sofa in it. There was no shower curtain although there was a shower head in the bath, so expect water to spray all over the bathroom. There were no wash rags, although they did provide a plastic wash sponge. There was a coffee maker, mini-fridge, and DVD player in the room. The bed was comfortable, and overall the room was clean. The MRT subway entrance is right next door, and a very large park is right across the street if you like walking or exercising. While this hotel was okay for a night or two, there were too many other negatives for us to ever want to return. There is only 1 tiny old elevator; you can expect to make 2 trips for your bags. The very minimal breakfast was not kept under heat lamps so most of it was cold. There was also substantial noise from the busy street outside the windows, and also noise from other rooms in the hallway. Staff was very nice, but unfortunately the facilities will prevent us from returning. No way this place was worth $91 USD; more like $50 at most.
I noticed one side of my socks was missing after housekeeping. Called the reception, told them that I left my sock under the blanket and asked if the housekeeping staff has accidentally wrapped it together when changing the sheets. The receptionist said she will make a check. She called back later saying that the only sock the housekeeping staff found when tidying the room was the sock under the blanket. I said I don't mind going through the pile of used sheets they collected that morning. She said she will check again. Ten minutes later, the housekeeping staff appeared with my sock at my doorstep, without a word of apology. What a blatant lie, apparently they didn't even bothered to check the first time! Thumbs down for service. Bad housekeeping, with strands of hair not cleared. Lacklustre breakfast. tiny lift that holds only six pax, back to back. 20min walk to Da'an station. Noisy construction right at the footstep. So, do check with the staff whether the works has been completed if you intend to stay here. For a better holiday, choose another hotel.
The Dolamanco is in Xinyi Rd, not too far from the center of Taipei. Rooms are not too small, there is a safe, a flat screen TV, air-conditioning is perfecting working. Nothing too fancy, but quiet cheap and there is everything you may need. When you get there you could probably get scared by the poor lobby, but don't worry, rooms are really ok, quiet and comfortable.
