Close to Songshan Airport

This time, the reason of staying there was just its closeness to the airport, but usually I stay a little longer for street-food hunting. It's a wonderful place for that purpose, and I'd like to come back and stay again.

The location is excellent. The interior is a bit dated but high quality and clean. Staff was friendly. Check in was quick, and all I had to do for check out was dropping the key. The bed was comfortable (a bit on the hard side), aircon worked well and was reasonably quiet. The shower had good water pressure and hot water with no issues. The refrigerator also worked well. I did not use the TV. The 7th floor I stayed on offered no noise from the street and a good view. Two things to consider: 1. The soundproofing isn't great, if there are loud people in the corridor (or perhaps in an adjacent room), you'll hear them in your room. This could be a concern if the hotel were fully booked, which it was far from during my stay. 2. There were only 2 power sockets in the whole room. Perhaps the reception can lend an adapter or an extension cable, I didn't ask. These are minor things though. Overall, it's great value for money, and I'd absolutely stay there again next time I visit Taipei.

Very old hotel

Clean. Old door with key, not sure if it really locks well. Show water, the amount is unstable. Bad is very hard. Door, table, bad etc. cheap and temporary.

We stayed in the City Hotel for 8 days. The first 6 days we stayed at the same room on the 11 floor. The room was very clean and quiet and we enjoyed our stay. The only thing I can complain is they don't have a working dryer and we had to bring our clothes to a coin laundry about 5-10 mins walking distance. It was very inconvenient, but their staffs' sweet and friendly manner seemed to offset some of the inconvenience. We had to check out for one day to visit a different city and they assigned us to a different room on the 3 floor after we came back. The room was bigger with one extra twin bed and that was the only good thing about this room. The whole room seemed really old. The room supply (shampoo, soap...) seemed to be the leftovers of a different brand. We felt even the towels are thinner than the ones we had for the previous stay. On the last night we stayed, a cockroach appeared on the ceiling and the hotel staffs moved us back to the room on the 11 floor. Overall the hotel staffs are friendly and nice. Should I recommend this hotel? I don't know.

Nice clean hotel

Hotel is in the older side, but it has everything you need. We had a room with 4 twin beds, with a good size bathroom. The shower pressure is really good. That staff was really good to work with. Their English is better than my Chinese. Lots of places to eat in the area and ealing distance to mrt public transportation

Very cold room and no good breakfast

The room was clean in general. The location is convenient. But this hotel lacked some important items, such as soap holders and air ventilation. Especially, the room had no heaters available and the room temperature was at 18 degrees (same as outside). I asked for a heater but they didn't have any. I ended up using the hair dryer to warm up my body. The breakfast was way too simple and not much to eat. Bread and porridge. They should put some more veggies and fruits for travelers like me. At this price, I will have to find another hotel in the nearby neighborhood that offers 10 times better service, warm room, and delicious breakfast. I will probably not return to this hotel again.
