First of all my husband, 2 year old child, and I were assigned a handicap room without being asked if such room would be ok for us. Only one queen bed and a sofa chair. Typically rooms have 2 queens or one with a pull out couch so we didn't think to ask upon room assignment. The front desk clerk must have thought we'd enjoy sleeping 3 to a bed.... with a 2 year old who tosses and turns and hogs the bed. It's great that hotels have handicap rooms for those who need it but they're not ideal for groups of more than 2 especially with small children who can then reach all the light switches and climate controls. This wasn't a big deal with our child but I can see it being a nightmare for some families. With a handicap room it also comes with a special door bell feature so that someone can see a strobe light in their room lighting up instead of a ring tone in case they are unable to hear. This went off a few times likely kids in the hall playing with it and if we turned the off switch it just strobed non stop. So that was great. What kept me up all night, other than being squished in a queen bed with 3 people were these three main things: - The climate control switch was eye level when laying in bed and had a laser beam bright blue light on it that was disturbing anytime I rolled over and faced it. I eventually covered it with a tea bag at 4am (genious!). - If the light wasn't driving me nuts the air conditioner was. Every few minutes it'd kick in and turn on. It had a clicking noise that sounded like an egg timer and a rustling noise that sounded like someone rubbing two sheets of paper towel together. - The third but more minor thing that kept me up (because by then it was 5am and who cares at this point) was the cheap black out curtain that did a terrible job of blocking out the light. Another notable thing that I wasn't pleased with was the sandpaper tissue and toilet paper. I hate it when upper priced hotels cheap out on this. Also wondered why there wasn't a bathroom in the pool area....I imagine they must run their chemicals higher for obvious reasons. Maybe that's why we all felt itchy after the pool. Positives - towels were soft, bed was relatively comfortable, room was clean, breakfast had several choices, 24hr coffee in lobby. After sharing my feedback with the management in the morning they apologized the clerk didn't explain upon check in that the handicap room was the only one available and that they had to give it to us because we'd prepaid and booked through online priceline. Management seemed more concerned about explaining how priceline works rather than addressing the concerns of the room/hotel. Not sure I'd return to this hotel again or recommend it to others.
Although I had hoped to be able to use "mobile check in", I was not. However, I was very pleased to see that I was able to check in by authorizing my credit card only on a chip and pin terminal, and not being asked to swipe it. The room was very nice. Well equipped with a comfortable bed, ample desk, properly functioning TV, good air conditioning, and internet that was nice, about 40 megs up and down. They also don't limit your devices to three or six, which was nice since I had forgotten my travel router. The bathroom was a bit dated but fine. Breakfast was adequate. Check out was efficient.
Good location, right off the #1. Very good breakfast, friendly staff. Rooms are extremely spacious and clean in the King room. Because it is a wooden structure it is a little loud in the hallways by passersby. Friendly front desk staff. All around good hotel.
Stayed for one night in Swift Current at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites. The check in was speedy and the room booked was exactly as ordered. The hotel staff were outstanding and the free breakfast was exceptional. Will certainly return to this property next time my travels take me to Swift Current.
The room had everything we needed. It was clean and quiet even with 50 Hells Angels staying there. The breakfast area was a bit busy in the morning but was able to get a seat. Good breakfast. The bed was comfortable. Bonus - right next door to the casino. You can walk from the hotel.
Stayed multiple nights on work trip. As with most hotels nowadays like this, the sound transference between rooms and floors is below average. Unfortunately my room backed onto elevator shaft and the sound of the luggage carts rolling off the elevator sounded like someone falling down the elevator shaft. Try to request top floor away from the elevator if you can. Internet was ok, but not rock solid. My fridge froze my items even though I turned the temperature down. Free breakfast was normal type items. The one thing that got me was the front desk staff for the most part were cold and lifeless with a blank stare. A few were friendly but there were others that looked as if they hated being there. Walmart, casino and mall are within walking distance.
We stayed in room 304 and all I can say is smoky! It was contained to the bathroom at least so we kept the door closed but it was so strong it made you choke whenever you had to use the bathroom. The room was a good size, comfy pillows and the breakfast was good.
Clean and Quiet! The two most important items for a Good over night stay! Well done! Breakfast was ready early and well presented. Breakfast was well attended by staff....Thank You! Location is close to stores, casino etc.
On the road west bound. Had it in my mind that I wanted better than average and found it here. Away from highway noise. Nice clean room. Nice bathroom. Not sure that ww can do better than this along highway 1? Enjoy.
My mother and I checked in on a Saturday night. Check-in went smoothly and our double room was very clean--just a few small stains on the carpet near the door. Our stay was very quiet, but we couldn't help but notice that the parking lot was less than half full. Regardless, we had a quiet and pleasant stay. I can't comment on breakfast in the morning because I am Celiac and tend to steer away from anything not explicitly gluten free, but there seemed to be eggs, bacon, a selection of cereal and yogurt, and some bananas, apples, and oranges.
