We stayed here for 2 nights, and I had requested early check in, as we were going to a wedding. Upon arrival, the room wasn’t ready yet, and the girl working the front desk graciously switched me into a room that was ready. The room was updated and very clean. Check out was a breeze ! I woke up to my receipt slid under the door, and all I had to do was drop the keys at the front desk! Will absolutely return for my next stay in swift current
We have stayed at quite a few Holiday Inn Expresses and this one is at the bottom. The room felt run down, it definitely needs some updating. We also felt that the staff was less friendly than we are used to at this hotel chain. The breakfast was definitely one of the worst I've seen at a hotel. I know not to expect a gourmet meal or anything, but it was really bad. Another thing we noticed was that the hotel was VERY WARM everywhere you went. It was -25 degrees celsius outside, and inside it was like a sauna. When we initially got to our room we noticed that the air conditioner was running, which we thought was weird. So we shut it off, and that was a huge mistake. Yes, we actually had to have the A/C running in the middle of winter. Good things about the hotel was that we were with a hockey team, and the staff were nice enough to let us use the breakfast room for a team pizza party one night. They leave out coffee, tea, and fresh fruit all day. The pool was fine, the hot tub was actually hot. We probably wouldn't stay at this location again.
Good value for your money, it's not fancy but it's very clean and comfortable. House keeping takes pride in their work and the effort is noticeable. The hot breakfast is ok and there's lots of options available for other things as well. Most importantly the coffee is good. The location is excellent and parking is abundant. I will definitely stay here again.
I counted four different hockey teams while we were there with ours - that's about 80 boys between 13-14 years, plus parents. The hotel did an amazing job of taking care of us - they even opened the hot breakfast area half an hour earlier on a weekend because two teams had early games. They let us use the dining area for team dinners and even a team movie night. They also opened board rooms for video review sessions. The pool isn't huge but we didn't really have time to use it. Thanks to manager Sheryl Anne and her friendly, helpful team for a very comfortable and convenient stay.
I booked myself into this hotel based on the reviews I read. Certainly the building was in good repair and the staff were friendly; also I appreciated that though somewhat crowded in, the room had a comfortable chair where I could sit and put my feet up to read. My reasons for rating it poorly are two fold. First the noise, being next to the casino there were people coming in noisily throughout the night; followed up by some noisy vehicles out back first thing in the morning. Second, when I was waiting for the elevator, I noticed a roach like bug on the floor by the pop machine and while it might well have been just one bug, my mind started racing about whether there were others. As a result of these two things, I quite intentionally chose to try a different hotel on my way home.
I stayed here recently just for one night. The room was clean and had a mini fridge. It is walking distance to the casino and has easy access to all amenities. Nothing too fancy but also had a small pool and hot tub.
And there is nothing wrong with an average stay, but sometimes you expect a bit more from HIE. The reception area was attractive, check in was friendly and cheery and efficient. Our room was fine, nicely decorated and very clean. The bathroom was a bit battered around the edges and very small, one had to close the door to be able to get in the shower. Breakfast was standard stuff, and well stocked and attended to, tables were kept clean and wiped. Express checkout, so that was quick and easy. It was an average stay for a reasonable price on our way down the road.
From the moment we entered the Holiday Inn the whole experience was A+1. Front staff very friendly, room was big, appreciated the high speed wifi, bed & bedding very comfortable and inviting for a great rest. Could control our own thermostat. Left the complimentary breakfast very satisfied. Sure a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. We had a bit of difficulty finding it, as soon as you see the CASINO sign it's at the bottom of the hill.
Was in Swift Current for work. This hotel was within the hotel rate limit for my work, which was a very reasonable rate, by the way. Hotel is very clean, room was very clean and beds were super comfortable. Great selection of tv channels as well as Pay per view movies. Across the parking lot is the casino which is also very nice and convenient. There is a pool and hot tub however I didn't use either. Free parking and very close to what they call a mall but not much for shopping. There are a couple restaurants, liquor store, walmart, hospital and some other box stores within walking distance as well. Great continental breakfast too.
We were travelling from Manitoba to British Columbia and booked a one night stay in Speedy creek. The hotel was very nice and clean. The rooms were roomy and nicely set up. The view from the window was lovely. The shower was great. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel supplied a free breakfast as most Holiday Inns do not. It was a very good breakfast with a large variety of food. I can certainly recommend this hotel.
