Staff very friendly and made us feel welcome. Room was very tired but clean, the bathroom was very small. evening meal was of a very good quality. Breakfast small and could be improved. All was very clean.

We only wanted a cheap place to stay and that is probably why. The door of our room had be lifted to make sure it closed, furniture very dated, en suite small and shower pathetic. All staff were friendly and helpful and we had an enjoyable breakfast in the morning, not somewhere we would choose again.

I actually booked the wrong hotel but had prepaid and was only here for work and decided to stay. Only decent thing is the staff they are friendly. Hotel is very dated like 1980s. Wifi is awful. And had issues trying to work. The TV didn't work - I got 1 channel. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows like hard thin dense bricks. Awful nights sleep. The water from the kettle tasted funny. Had dinner in the restaurant ordered 2 egg omelette and salad.... received half plate of burnt chips, massive omelette which didn't seem cooked, 1 lettuce leave, a tomato, 2 sweetcorn kernels & gloopy salad cream. Good job I had crisps and popcorn to keep me going. The restaurant and main area had strange odour - like musty and old. This hotel needs an upgrade and basic things to work.

Having booked a double room and told the hotel in advance that I was bringing my dog, the reception changed my booking to a twin room on arrival (only 2 dog friendly rooms in the hotel) and refused to change it back even though the hotel was not full. Dirty sheets, heating goes off before 9am when it is snowing outside and the shower barely had any water and what came out went hot to cold. The room décor was circa 1975 with a carpet that had faded to barely any colour and wall tiles I have not seen for decades. The bathroom was ridiculously small. Oh and staff that really had no interest in being helpful even though the service promise advertised at reception said that "if something is not meeting your expectation, please let us know" "We want to make it right. Yeah right.

All staff pleasant and friendly. Meals well presented , breakfast choice excellent. Offering a specially choice including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, Haddock and kippers. Rooms pretty standard beds large but a little on the firm side.

Lovely Valentine's menu, rose prosecco upon arrival and lots of heart themed decorations. I had beef wellington which was delicious. Dessert was brandy snaps. Reasonably priced too. Will be back next year!!

Friendly staff who were all very helpful. Warm room and all very clean. The bar has been updated, though rooms was a bit 1980's. Breakfast average - again appear to have missed how hotels have moved on.

Stayed here for a night after local funeral service very good and helpful staff members and the very welcoming rooms were very large and of a good standard the shower was totally useless but the bath was OK the bar and bar menu was of a very good quality and quantity was good too I would be happy to recommend this hotel to family and friends if they are in the area.

My husband and our two children stopped off in Swaffham looking for a place to eat before our long drive back to Yorkshire. We weren't disappointed the food was lovely and the side salad was so fresh, the chips are homemade and we would definitely recommend the giant Jaffa cake for pudding! The service was great and friendly and the restaurant is very pleasant, in fact we had a nice large table and played dominoes between courses, prices were reasonable, it was a lovely stopover! Thank you!

Our stay at the Best Western George Hotel was on one of the coldest nights of the year to date and although the guest room was quite small by present-day standards it was well equipped and everything worked as it should. The central heating was controlled by an adjustable radiator thermostat so we had a very comfortable night. We were attending an istallation service at the Swaffham parish church (opposite the hotel) which finished at 9.00pm and upon return to the hotel we discovered that service at the bar was still available so we settled down for a light supper and a glass of something warming! Complimentary a-la-carte breakfast the following morning was very high quality, hot and pleasantly served. We would certainly return to the George Hotel again and can wholeheartedly recommend it for a short stay.
