The hotel is really "worn" and definitely requires some renovations. It is dirty. In no smoking rooms it smells with cigarettes. Bathrooms are smelly too. They didn't have first aid kit at the front desk. I was actually going to give "terrible" note, as for Holiday Inn Express it does not meet expectations at all, but during my trip to China I've found way worse object for the similar price. On the upside: Metro is close.
I stayed there only for one night. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was good as well. Considering the name for this franchise, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, it had lots of mold in the shower and the toilet had a very strong smell. The breakfast was mostly Chinese. I was quite disappointed to be honest as I expected more from a Western franchise. On the good side, there is a big mall nearby, you will find a metro line within walking distance and plenty of other transport.
Stayed for a weekend trip with family in Suzhou. Plus + Breakfast although very basic but cannot complain about it because it's free + Subway station within walking distance that goes to the city Minus - Understaffed in general - Foul odour in the guestroom for the first night
It is a very basic hotel, but good value for money. The hotel was fully booked for a conference and checking in and out of this hotel was an absolute nightmare, even with 3 receptionist on duty. It is a good budget hotel and is located near the underground and a shopping mall. The rooms were small but clean. Do not expect a lot of luxury at the price, but it is good for a one, or two night stay.
new, clean, fantastic customer service if you talk direct to Management or Assistant. Rooms are clean, very well equiped , Engl TV ( CNN, BBC, FOX Sport and HBO), Internet fast enough. Coffee ok...food....chinese.
Stayed for 2 nights. The room is small, but has comfortable furniture and fast internet. The bathroom is strange because the bathroom door and shower door swing to fulfill only one purpose at a time. Water pressure is good. Negatives: I was on the top floor and the elevator took forever to come up. Checkout was a hassle. Only two people were at the counter with about 30+ people waiting to check out. The website claims they have room service but they don't.
I shall not compare this with Holiday Inn hotels. This is not a Holiday Inn but a Holiday Inn Express hotel with its value proposition being -- value for money and proximity to train stations, with breakfast usually thrown in. I am happy to say this hotel met my expectation given the price I paid. The room is clean and spacious (24sqm) and doesn't smell. Breakfast is decent with a good spread. The train station is 450 m away. Next to the station are 2 huge modern malls. Go to B1 and 4th floor of the mall for food. There's a huge Japanese supermarket on B1, uniqlo and daiso on other levels. There are some foot reflex places a very short walking distance away from the hotel too to soothe tired feet at the end of the day. You can do your laundry too -- 20RMB to run the washing machine and another 20RMB to run the dryer. Our group had to depart at 6.45 am, and the hotel kindly offered to start the breakfast 15 min earlier to accommodate us. That's service! You can borrow umbrellas on a rainy day without paying a deposit. Wifi is easy -- just connect, no password required. The toilet is a little bit of a mystery though -- no lock and the frosted door swings either to close off the toilet or shower area. The glass blocks (as seen in the photos) also mean that the silhouette of the person showering can be seen, and MORE to be seen when you move closer to the glass blocks 😆 -- so well... unless you are squeamish about such matters...
I stayed at this hotel for a night. With my parents. So I ended up curl up on my mum's bed. The AC was cold. Loved it. Surprisingly the reception can speak english fluently. That's new. They need to change the carpet in the room though. It's quite old. The breakfast.... ok. Not many variety and the fruits were finish very fast but they didn't refill it. I didn't use the wifi.
This hotel is okay on the surface, with reasonable rooms and facilities. But look a bit closer and you will soon realise that it is aimed squarely at the Chinese market. Western travellers are likely to be underwhelmed by the experience. For instance, the breakfast was very poor with mostly Chinese fare. Warm orange juice and rice porridge will not make an appetising choice for most foreigners. Service is rather indifferent throughout the hotel, with no one putting themselves out. Finally, be careful at check out, or they will charge you in your home currency at a bad rage. Make sure you pay in cash, as they will sting you otherwise.
