The Space:
The home features two bedrooms and one full bathroom with gorgeous views! You cannot get any closer to the water than Tide's Edge! Tide's Edge is located in Surry, a quaint coastal town. The home is a 40 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park!

The Neighborhood:
Tide's Edge is part of a three-home retreat known as Patten Bay Retreat! Each home can be rented separately, or all three homes can be rented as one which would accommodate up to 16 guests. The shore access for Tide's Edge is directly in front of the home. The shore access is available for all three homes and guests are asked to be respectful of others using the shore.
The vacation home is heated and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. The vacation home also includes a coffee maker.

Complete Disappointment

The only thing the place had going for it was the view once we washed the inside window to enjoy it!!!! The owner was difficult at best to deal with. We arrived 1/2 hr. prior to check in and received the door code, after 3 requests. We did receive a dumpster code and useless misc. info. 1 hr. prior to check in and note, we pd. in full 7 wks. prior to arrival. We encountered no safe outside sitting, dirt and mold all over deck, exposed pipes on the ground, no batteries in bedroom light/fan, no heat to dry towels in bath, no bath mat, shower leaked, broken window, missing screens, inside screens full of dirt, pot for lobster too small and didn't fit on outside grill, hole in door screen, bedroon had 12 in. on sides of bed to get in, the list goes on. We were very, very upset with the conditions and the apparent lack of care the place had received. We paid a high price for this very low quality. Another place we booked was 1/2 the price and 100 times better and the owner was very accommodating and helpful. I have used Verbo many times prior and I was very disappointed with this listing and the owner. This listing looked great on paper but was a complete misrepresentation in person. Overall rating is negative 1 if that's possible. I will think very hard before dealing with Verbo again, and never with this owner........I plan a detailed letter to both the owner and Verbo with pictures to verify my claims.

Quiet Serenity

Had a wonderful stay at this lovely little house with a cabin feel to it. Had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Loved the spectacular views from the living room and deck and the fire pit was great for finishing up the day with a great fire I highly recommend this property.

Perfect Quiet Place to enjoy Maine

Property is just as it appears in the photos. It was very clean, with comfortable clean bedding. My spouse and I enjoyed using the spot as a home base from which we were able to drive to Bar Harbor and Inland Maine for fun. The location was quiet with its own rocky Maine Beach just below our window, from our window or deck. Comfortable bed - we used the bunk bed room as our closet. Kitchen was perfect for making our own dinner when we weren't eating at Perry's Lobster Shack a couple of miles away. There are three other cabins within sight of the cabin and there is a path to the beach passing within a few feet of deck and off deck seating area. But it still felt like a perfect remote low key location. Highly recommend this place as a get away
