Branch lake is known as one of the top rated lakes in Maine for its water purity and very unique sparse population as its the watershed for Ellsworth. Less than half the lakeshore is developed, especially the Southern end, making one feel wonderfully cutoff from civilization! Mainguy's is one of the nicest or best camps on Branch Lake for its location and amenities just off Route 1, center lake location, deep water frontage with a dive tower, small beach, lakeside fireplace and exceptional knotty pine interior with top of the line appliances, new beds, bar, stereo system, Wifi & 3 large LED TV's. The year round house/camp was totally gutted from top to bottom and remodeled IN 2015 and is just 40 feet from the waters edge. Ideally designed for families or 2 couples as there are 2 separate indoor entertainment areas. There is 1 ground floor bedroom with a queen, 2 bedrooms with full beds, 1 master king bedroom on the 3rd level which has a 1/2 bathroom, and a bunk bedroom along with a loft hosting a very plush full futon bed. The kitchen is completely remodeled with state of the art appliances, dual oven, 36 inch fridge with ice maker , dual gas stove and dishwasher along with a convection microwave oven. Hardwood flooring is laid throughout the 1st floor including the kitchen along with new wrap around quartz countertops. The house has all new linen and towels you will need along with all kitchen utensils and dishes. The ground floor has industrial carpeting as the sliding glass door exit finds you right near the sand beach and can handle the sandy traffic in and out. The hammock right near the dock is often fought over during the day or evening as a perch to watch the fire in the lakeside fireplace. Sunsets from the deck are magic! A very scenic 30 minute drive takes you into the famed Acadia National Park or towards Bucksport to start a must do memorable drive along the coastline down to Camden with all the roadside charm and antique shopping.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We had 12 adults and two dogs and there was plenty of room inside and out for everyone! The beach area was perfect and the lake is pristine! Fishing off the dock, swimming and boating in the lake, relaxing on the beach and the dock, everything was great! The beds were very comfortable and the large open living areas on multiple floors were great for entertainment during a couple days without great weather. The house was very clean and spacious as well. The owner and property manager were great to deal with and answered any questions we had very promptly! We would definitely recommend this rental!

We have stayed at this property for many years and it never disappoints us. The hosts go above and beyond to make sure our needs are met. The house is impeccably clean and stocked with everything renters need. It is spacious and the views of the lake are breathtaking. . The location of the house and the dock is perfect for fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating. The beach is great for children to play on and they can easily wade into the water. .The wrap around deck with its picnic tables, benches and grill is great for family dinners overlooking the lake. Our family of 10 played card games in the evening, watched the beautiful sunsets from the dock and just listened to the loons calling from the water. Acadia National Park is just a 45 minute drive away and a great trip to experience wildlife and magnificent views. I highly recommend this property. We absolutely love this rental and have not found any other rental to compare to this property or the hosts that offer this rental.

Perfect Vacation Spot

Spacious home with beautiful lake view and access. Fun for adults, children, and pets. Lots of restaurants and shopping all within a 30 to 60 minute drive. Communication with the hosts was never a problem. Very friendly and helpful.

Perfect Lakeside Home

I chose this house for our annual family vacation and it was as a big hit with everyone. We all like being on the water and having a good kitchen to prepare meals. It was a bonus to have watercraft and we used the kayaks and paddle board almost every day. The house is very well appointed so we didn’t have to run out for baggies, Kleenex or paper towels. We had everything we needed. A special treat, which I have not experienced in other rentals, was having no chores to do on departure day!

Once again we had a spectacular vacation at this rental property. We have rented here for many years and each time we have had a the most enjoyable vacations ever. The property is immaculate when we arrive and the property owner is always eager to make sure our stay is everything we could need or want. The sandy beach lakefront is accessible to all ages. The dock is equipped with a dive platform that provides hours of endless fun for all. There are kayaks, a paddle board and a canoe to use for fishing or just exploring the lake. We especially look forward to watching the sunsets over the lake from the dock. The kitchen is fully equipped and the barbecue grill is great for outside cooking. We ate outside most nights at the picnic table that had ample seating for all 12 of us. There is also a table inside off the kitchen that doubled for us a lunch table and card table. Downstairs has another seating area and bar with easy access to the lake. Rain or shine this property affords magnificent views of Branch Lake and the surrounding mountains. The property is close enough to allow for day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Ellsworth is very close and has many great restaurants and small shops. There is always something to do at this rental. We have stayed at many other Vrbo sites over the years and this property is by far the best! The owner is very easy to work with and always wants to ensure we have a great time. We highly recommend this property.

Amazing & relaxing week at Branch Lake

This property was everything we had hoped it would be and even better in person than as advertised. Our group consisted of adults & kids (7-11yr olds) and 2 fury friends. The backyard from the deck to the dock is where we spent most of our time, with the shallow water off the property edge an excellent spot for the kids to swim and adventure. The high jump off the dock was awesome as it's about 25-30' deep there. We also rented a boat from DownEast rentals who were great to deal with, provided a newer Pontoon for the week and the boat launch is directly across the lake (a kayak ride, or 30min car ride around the lake). We had a great week of fishing catching a ton of sunnies & bluegills, but also some awesome small mouth bass, lake trout and even an eel. Lastly, Peter and Jessica were great with communication throughout and helped answer any questions we had. Highly recommend for a nice R&R getaway!

Great Maine vacation

We had a great stay at this house. It was clean and had everything we needed for a week at the lake. The house was well stocked with essentials and cook wear. Our family had a great time at the lake kayaking and paddle boarding. Only a 45 min drive to Acadia made it easy to hike in the morning and get to the lake by the afternoon. The owners were great with communication and extremely accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful lakefront home

Perfect vacation spot for our family! The house is clean, spacious, and well-stocked with linens, towels, and kitchen necessities as well as games and lake "toys" (canoe, kayaks, paddle board). The lake is pristine and perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. The dock with its diving/jumping platform is fantastic fun. Three generations had a great week!

Great time!

We had a wonderful time on Branch lake!! The dive platform was huge hit regardless of the weather. I was in awe of the huge lake rocks and how clear the water was. We saw a bald eagle twice and so many fish. The house was a great fit for our large party. The beds were quite comfortable and the showers were exceptional! Can’t wait for next year.

Exceptional Maine Lake Vacation

Best lake house stay! Beautiful location on rarely traveled road. We do these family lake stays with 10 family members every summer and this was the best one yet. Enough water toys for everyone - paddle board, kayaks, canoe, dock and diving platform, beach with kids toys. Such a beautiful location on such a clean lake. Such great evenings around the fire and family meals on big picnic table on the deck. Can’t wait till next year!

Amazing lakefront getaway

Was looking for a lakefront summer vaca with swimming and boat access and close proximity to Acadia. This fit the bill and more. Enough room for adults, teens, and youngers to have space and also two gathering areas. Outdoor space was perfect with walk in swimming area, seating, and of course the high dive. Owner and property manager responsive. Can't recommend this property enough.

We have stayed at this property multiple times and every time we find new places to explore and new things to do. The property is well maintained and very clean. It is located close enough to Bar Harbor to make several day trips there. Ellsworth is a quaint New England town with lots of eateries and shops. This house is ideally located on the lake and the dock with swim perch is perfect for diving. There is a large amount of private shoreline and beach for pets and children to easily access. The house has an open concept design with a large fully stocked kitchen. There are magnificent views of the lake from the dining room, living room, downstairs den, and bar. The owner provides kayaks, canoes, and a paddle board to explore the lake. The canoeing and the kayaks are a great way for several family members to explore the lake together. We enjoyed many family sunset dinners on the outside deck overlooking the waterfront. Peter and Jessica are extraordinary hosts. They are easy going and very responsive to any and all your needs. It is very nice to have such accommodating hosts. This is a very special property.
