The Runnymede on Thames

I will never tire of saying that 'nobody does it better' than the Runnymede Hotel team for meetings and events. The service that they deliver is 'uniformed and sharp'. Every member of their food chain is 'on board' when it comes to 'customer satisfaction' and delivery of an excellent service. The fantastic Runnymede Hotel Army that assisted in supported our 60 people, 3-day event, enabled our meetings to run to schedule without any hitches, and of course enabled me to shine!!! A big shout out to Lisa Rose, whose tenacity ensured that I got the space and dates that I needed. For Emily and Jess L for so conscientiously checking and double checking my requirements. For Martin (events) and Tom (banqueting) who manage the best foot soldiers in the business: Thomas, Gabriel, Jan, Andrea (porter). Mustn't forget my 'stars of the performance' Phoebe, Jess and newcomer Precious... These ladies worked their socks off to check, manage, support, amend and deal with all of my last minute requests. I couldn't have done it without them!! Thanks Ladies, so looking forward to working with you again!!

The hotel is sat on the bank of the river Thames, though the building itself is lacking compared to its setting. Stayed here for one night in early May, overall a relatively basic and uninspiring hotel property (if not shabby in some areas). The food at the lunch time buffet is edible, but the quality is low and the menu poorly-thought out. Dinner was even more dissatisfying, involving an inedible and soggy salad and over-seasoned / cooked duck. The staff are friendly, but inexperienced. The hotel bar said it didn't serve cocktails (though behind them was a shelf of every drink you could imagine), hinting at a lack of experience and service more than anything. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, however, the design was horrendous - 90s style wood panelling (laminate), a frightful blue chair, faux fur blanket, etc. etc. The bathroom was small and needed a re-fit. My colleague reported a sticky and semi-dryed substance on her sheets, underneath which was a blood stain! Hopefully I'm never dragged back to this hotel, what a waste of money to stay somewhere so lacklustre when you think of all the wonderful spa hotel retreats there are further down the river.

We stayed in this hotel as part of a conference group for my husband's work. Lovely large rooms and extremely comfortable beds and very impressed with the food overall, really nice. Close to Windsor but also right on the river. We were unlucky with the weather but had it been dry we'd have spent more time in the grounds which are beautiful. Two things I would probably "complain" about (although that's too strong a word). First of all, the pool area was a bit disappointing, for such a beautiful hotel I was surprised at the pool as I'd expected it to be a bit more luxurious and instead it looks like a local leisure centre pool. Second the wifi was very weak in-room, I struggled to get signal and had to take my laptop downstairs to do some work which wasn't ideal, so worth keeping this in mind if you're planning to work in your room. Overall a fab hotel, lovely food and facilities, would definitely stay again.

Third visit here in 6 years. I think it's better than before. The lobby is spacious but can be busy with business meetings. My room was on 2nd floor and a corner room. Just got glimpse of the river but had access to shared balcony. Room was good sized all you would expect. Plus a couple of bottles of water which is a nice extra. Food was very good and staff serving on main evening were really nice. Great location for our Conference and AGM.

Where do I begin... this hotel is amazing! We stayed here the night after our wedding day and we were treated like royalty (although from what I could tell the staff make all guests feel like this) Nothing was ever to much trouble for the staff, unfortunately we didn't get the names of the staff that were serving us throughout our stay but you are all a credit to the hotel. I don't have one negative word to say about the place. The bed was so comfy and room nice and modern. The grounds are breathtaking. The food is out of this world and such good value (£30 per person buffet) with a lovely ambience in the restaurant. We also used the spa facilities and enjoyed a massage, aswell as having the outdoor whirlpool to ourselves for an hour with a glass of fizz. The sun was shining as we sat in the tub on the banks of the Thames..it felt like being on holiday! We will see you next year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary!

What a lovely place this is next to the river. We stayed here for one night and took advantage of the spa package which included a massage as well as breakfast and dinner. We have only positive things to say about our stay at this hotel. The hotel room was lovely and modern and even though it faced the road, there is sound proofing and it was very quiet. The food in the hotel was excellent and of a high quality with lots of choice and the drinks were presented beautifully - I recommend the g n't's and their cocktails which were nothing short of excellent. The massage was lovely and left us feeling really relaxed. The spa facilities were really good with lots of loungers and were very clean and modern. A small point is that the jacuzzi was a bit on the small side and people seemed to stay in for long periods of time and it took a while to get the opportunity to go in but this was a small point. The bar and restaurant overlook the river with beautiful views. It rained some of the time that we were there and when we went for a short work, we were ill prepared for the muddy Thames footpath - we will bring better footwear next time. We would definitely stay here again - a real treat leaving you feeling truly relaxed and spoilt.

We stayed here for two nights in an executive room which overlooked the river. It's in a lovely location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet dinner and breakfast was faultless, with so much choice. In fact it's probably one of the best buffet experiences we've had. We look forward to returning.

Have just come back from holding a 2 day leadership meeting at the hotel. Location is excellent, price is decent (not cheap but I'd rather pay for a good venue!). Food is wonderful and staff are top notch. We used two different meeting rooms (Minnow Suite and Riverside 1) and both were excellent. WiFi works, easy to get on, plenty of parking. Highly recommend, but need to book early as they get busy!

I came for a 5 day training. The service was superb. The offered buffet lunch was outstanding with plenty of options. More healthy snacks for the conference area would be nice as I felt completely over-suggered after that week. Rooms are good - however keep in mind the hotel is closely located to the airport and an Airbus makes a lot of noise.. if you not a light sleeper don't worry about it.

Stayed two nights for a conference. Very nice room overlooking Thames. Clean, comfortable and large room. Excellent gym with free fitness classes available and 18 metre indoor pool. Lovely restaurant but appeared expensive.
