Had a business conference here. Good location on banks of Thames. Picturesque and peaceful but with all the facilities that you would need for a conference. Good conference rooms, excellent restaurant and fitness facilities. Comfortable, modern rooms, well appointed and friendly helpful staff at the front desk, in the restaurant and in the conference facilities. Highly recommended for business conferences in the Windsor / Heathrow area.
We visited The Runnymede on Thames hotel during business trip. Rooms were clean and nice, beautiful surroundings. Great breakfasts and dinners. Train from the town straight to the London. Recommended! I hope we're going to come back sometimes!!
We had a friends and family BBQ in two of the function rooms overlooking the lock to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. All the help we needed was provided by the hotel staff and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. The BBQ food and service was excellent and well thought out.
Booking was easy, there was an offer on the Runnymede website which made the stay very good VFM. Guest relations were really helpful ahead of our stay. I was speaking with Julian who arranged afternoon tennis followed by the whirlpool with prosecco waiting for us! I'm glad I got to meet Julian, he was lovely, very helpful and professional! Our room was a really nice size with a large bathroom, all very modern and lovely ESPA toiletries for us to use, most importantly the room was spotless. We had a beautiful view of the river. We then went and played tennis in the courts which were well kept with rackets and balls provided. The whirlpool was the highlight, it was private and on the river, very romantic and the prosecco on arrival was perfect. Even though it was raining slightly it didn't take the shine off! We loved it. Julian was there to meet us when we were finished and he gave us an umbrella to go back into the hotel which was very sweet and thoughtful. We slept really well, very comfy bed. Breakfast the next day was perfect with everything we wanted and more. Can't complain about anything, our stay was lovely and we will be returning for future celebrations!
We stayed for 1 night only but experienced a relaxing lunch in the lounge, followed by an afternoon in the spa. My husband had an Espa massage and I had an Espa facial - both were excellent. We then had pre dinner drinks in lounge and enjoyed a gin and tonic from a really good gin menu- then on into the Lock for a superb dinner, Great service and lovely food, the following morning we had a lovely breakfast in the left bank looking out towards the river Thames - such a lovely setting. Overall the staff make this hotel and should be complimented on their friendly and happy manner. The rooms are ok, functional and comfy but nothing special, and small bathroom but we did only have a standard room so there may be nicer ones if you pay more. Good facilities in room including tea/coffee.
The hotel is located by the Thames river and is lovely to wander around (weather gods permitting). As I was attending a conference and was my visit to the area, I was unsure on what to expect. There is a separate building for meetings/conferences, as it is a popular destination for corporate off-site meetings. The staff is friendly, pleasant and professional, with both my check in and check out proceeding smoothly. There are two restaurants as well as an open bar at the reception area. The breakfast and lunch spread is extensive and the service good. So why the low rating, well it has to do with the size of the room. The room was tiny and the window overlooked a wall, so not much natural light coming in. I stayed for four nights and I must admit I started to get claustrophobic by the second night. It would have been better to have booked a double room, just for some more space. If you happen to visit, I would recommend doing the historic Thames Walk. Well worth it!
Recently stayed here for two days. Very modern "corporate" and comfortable hotel - high quality. Great location right next to the river and close to Heathrow. Lobby area can get very busy as business meetings take place - suspect it would be quieter on weekends. Staff were very welcoming and they have a great team that looks after the conferences. Bedroom was very also comfortable. Kitchen was very good. Proximity to London, Heathrow and Windsor etc would make it a good weekend destination. Would return
The location of this hotel is amazing. However just to warn people, the rooms are almost claustrophobic they're so small. We could barely fit 2 suitcases and hand luggage. The staff are indifferent and robotic. It could be lovely ... it's not.
This used to be called the Anglers. The old part burnt down many years ago and it's now a modern hotel. A lovely location by the River Thames and Bell Weir Lock. Handy for visiting Runnymede and exploring the history of Magna Carta. Close to the M25. Nearest town is Egham with the larger Staines nearby. Oh and they do amazing high teas. A good place to stay if using Heathrow airport. For the historian, apart from the obvious Magna Carta connection, there used to a very notorious horse racing course opposite. For the energetic there are good walks along the river just outside the front door.
One night before our flight out of Heathrow. The lobby and public areas are as busy as Heathrow ~ business person hotel. Maybe a weekend visit would be better to enjoy the property. Our room was comfortable although tiny. The check in was exactly like an airport check in but the staff were excellent and the pushy nature of a business crush was not their fault. All in all it was fine for our needs but next time back to Great Fosters.
