Enjoyed a family wedding at this hotel and stayed the night, what a perfect venue for a wedding, all the staff were fantastic, the food was great and the setting is perfect, would recommend the hotel for any occasion or just to stay
Booked this as a pamper treat to myself. Room was lovely, especially as I was upgraded to a river view room. Dinner was ok, but a really good choice on the buffet. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Spa was also great and very good value for money, definitely return
It’s rare to find a large hotel that offers such a personal touch. Well, the Runnymede has this weekend. From a warm welcome at reception to a knock on the door shortly after wishing us Happy Easter with a gift of Chocolate eggs it never ended. The service was faultless and genuine from every member of staff. The room was spacious with Espa products. Modern fittings and angood selection of Coffee/Tea. Ate at Leftbank in the evening and whilst it was a buffet it was faultless. Such a choice of Starter/Hot main & dessert - all delicious. The waiting staff during the Evening Meal and Breakfast were attentive. So often you are just a number in a large hotel, but i have to say this wasn’t the case. The staff constantly checked all was ok, were more drinks required. This was when the restaurant was full. This morning i used the Spa. The Massage was great. The pool was busy and very noisy with lots of excitable children, but a quiet lounge was available with complimentary refreshments. Plenty parking available also. Cannot recommend this hotel enough! Well done Runnymede 😀
We stayed here for three nights to celebrate our friends wedding. The hotel was excellent and there were so many highlights. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. From the porter who helped us with the luggage, to reception who got a complicated bill 100% correct, to the waiting staff where nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely, spacious room overlooking the river. Huge bed, high end toiletries and a Nespresso machine!! I used the pool which was warm and not that busy plus the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. All facilities very clean. The lobby bar was a great place for us to meet up the night before the wedding and then about 20 of us eat at the Leftbank restaurant. This was buffet style starters and desserts with an extensive choice of main dishes. All for £25 - great quality food, sensibly priced wine list and excellent vfm. We also had the breakfast buffet here and I can see why the hotel has won awards for their breakfasts. Probably one of the best I have eaten anywhere. Extensive choice of just about everything. Some nice touches too such as the smoothie of the month and honey from their own bees. Most enjoyable Would certainly recommend this hotel.
My family and I just got back from this hotel. The hotel is situated by the Thames and in a great location. There are a lot of things to do around the area, especially for kids. The rooms are ok and reasonable sized. The hotel is very clean. The morning breakfast buffet is amazing too. On the other hand, the hotel is very expensive! The room service menu for lunch and dinner is limited.
As usual with the left bank restaurant, genuine meet and greet and shown to a nice table overlooking the Thames. Although been before many times, waiter explained everything to us. Great starter selection from salads to cold meats and fish. Main course ranged from Chicken, pork, lamb kebabs, fish, and a veggie curry. At least ten sweets to choose from. My only negative comment is there is only one drought lager and cider, would prefer to have a choice. Will definitely be back
The best hotel with a great view of the river; The breakfast is excellent and you will be spoilt for choice; The staff and service is excellent - especially in the restaurants. Though I found the room to be bit small, everything else is excellent.
This is a lovely hotel in a nice location, our room overlooked the river and lock. The rooms were spotless and well appointed. We had the fizz and films deal which was great value. The spa facilities were great and all the staff were really friendly.
Celebrating our Golden Wedding. All our requirements were met and more. Thank you. This was our second visit and was very enjoyable and we would recommend this Hotel. The Hotel can get very busy when you clash with a large wedding party
The Runnymed is a great hotel, with a great team who I've found is always happy to assist you. The rooms are quite small - for example, room 163 is almost laughable and this is the main negative point of my evaluation - but quite comfortable. Breakfast is great, with so much to chose from. The restaurants at the hotel - either The Lock of the buffet - are also a great option for your dinner. One plus for the breakfast room is that you can see the Thames right from your seat. A good option for your stay in Egham. It would be great if the rooms could be a bit more spacious.
