We were very much looking forward to our stay at Frensham pond hotel, the decor and greeting was lovely. After we checked in we weren’t too happy with the sound of drilling and banging very close to our room whilst were trying to relax in our room. At £81 per night we didn’t expect to have to deal with this. We would have appreciated to have a discounted rate. When we went to dinner, my boyfriend wanted a burger which was on the bar menu but the staff would not provide on the restaurant menu. And finally we felt as though 2 ladies sat next to us got special treatment, they were provided with menus before they were seated in the restaurant and asked if they wanted a table in the window. We were not offered any of this.

I went there for afternoon tea and did not have such a great experience. The location and view were lovely, I had booked in advance but it took 3 people to find the booking. Very inattentive service at first, until the manager came and asked how was our experience and offered us to order more tea towards the end of our meal there. No explanation of which sandwich was what, just everything was dropped on the table and we had to replace things as the 3 tier was sitting on the edge of the table. Not much choice of tea, flowers on the table dead and the clotted cream had turned so they changed it for us. All the cake on the 3 tier were industrial made, some were soggy, other had a big chunk of the turned clotted cream on it to decorate, the one I liked the most was the chocolate one. We were offered to bring our left over cake home though which was thoughtful. I just think the food was not nice quality which is a shame because it is a lovely spot. I would not suggest it or go back unfortunately, and would not advice it to purchase it as a gift either...

I attended a business training course over two days at this tastefully decorated country hotel. My room was spacious, enjoyed the amazing "rain shower" (Grohe) experience in the bathroom and very delicious food. The view of the large pond was lovely too. Would recommend for business and leisure.

the hotel and staff cannot be faulted my room was very spacious and the bathroom was of very high standard. the breakfast was excellent with plenty of items to choose from. i would possibly stay here again however the down side of my stay was that i was led to believe the spa was open for service but upon arrival i was informed it was closed and undergoing building work which was very disapointing after that was 1 of the reasons i booked this hotel but all the recepionist said when i booked in was its closed so you will have to come back again wont you.so this will make me think twice if i return as misled on original booking

I stayed here for one night as a preferred choice! As previously reviewed, I had an amazing superior room in the main hotel! It was clean well stocked with a fantastic walk in shower. Reception, as ever were helpful informative and polite. Nothing too much trouble! I was so tempted to stay this morning for coffee and cake, but I knew if I’d stayed I wouldn’t want to leave. Thank you once again and can’t wait for the spa to be open !

In 2016 I got married at Frensham Pond which was just the most amazing day and in October 2017 we were invited back for a free meal for our 1 year anniversary. Everytime I have eaten there the food has simply been superb and the staff are very professional as well as being friendly and helpful. The hotel location is also in a beautiful setting on the edge of Frensham pond. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough whether it is for a stay, an event or just a meal. You will not be disappointed.

Recently stayed and ate here. The room was ok. However the a couple of things could of been explained a bit better such as the use of WiFi and spare batteries available in the room for the TV remote. Fed back to the receptionist on departure who did not seem bothered. Dinner was good and the staff were attentive both at dinner and breakfast. Would stay again to explore the outdoor area and new spa which they are in the process of building.

I was here for a 2 day work conference but was able to enjoy a lovely walk around the pond, which was a bonus. The food was delicious and everyone attending seemed to enjoy the rooms and bedrooms. I had no complaints and many compliments regarding the food and accommodations. Only complaint is that there were still building works taking place which caused a bit of interruption during the conference but the staff were very helpful and eager to solve any problem.

Excellent location, with a huge lake to walk around away from the beacon track. The room was comfortable with modern bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable but pillows quite bulky and hard so take your own, like me, if you prefer softer ones. There was a kettle to make tea or coffee, but would take large bottle of water next time as the water tasted. There are two small bottles supplied. The television was huge and a settee provided to view it. The room was lovely. Would advise to take out key card in wall to cut out the blower for either air conditioning or heating as very noisy at night. This does not cut the electricity supply so you still have the lights etc. The family visited us in the evening for a meal, but was disappointed with the food. I had beef bourguignon which was tough in a coloured water, absolutely no flavour at all. The potatoes were tiny cut in half and had obviously been previously cooked, so just warmed in microwave. Two had a curry which was in a tiny dish and the smallest pompadoms I've ever seen, also heated up. The fourth had fish and chips, not a lot can go wrong cooking fresh in a fryer. The desserts were expensive, a tiny portion in the middle of plate. Finished with coffee. Would stay at hotel again, but would give dinner a miss and eat elsewhere, which is a shame. The staff are very welcoming.

First and last time at this hotel - overall a really weird experience, as though a group of clueless otherworldly aliens (in human form) had been allowed to take over an English country hotel for a couple of days. What follows is the email I sent to the hotel - some three weeks ago the hotel confirmed that it had been forwarded to the operations manager, but no further response. The mattress in the bedroom was like a sack of potatoes - impossible to get comfortable, and ought to be changed before the room is let out again. There is a very inconsistent temperature in the shower, and after an uncomfortable night what I didn’t need was cold, boiling, tepid, hot, cold, unbearable on a random cycle. Finally the hotel has a number of members of staff for whom English is not their first language, and one with a particularly penetrating voice. He may not be aware of it because of how he’s learned the language, but constant swearing whilst in loud conversation in the kitchen is not the way for guests to enjoy breakfast.
