This spacious accommodation was clean and welcoming. We had a partial ocean-view apartment and it had all the necessary facilities to make our stay successful. The apartment is not on the beach and is a car-journey away from the shopping centres. There was free Wifi.
Very well located with the beach just a short stroll. But tired and dirty interior takes away from this. Found we were calling almost daily for missing things (not one fork) or broken items. Management were helpful, but I echo past reviews that they could avoid this by having a good deep clean and cheking the rooms thoroughly. Whilst the WIFI is good, beaware only abailable power points are in bathroom or kitchen to charge devices and they are limited.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom part ocean view apartment as we are a family of 6. The room was perfectly set up for us, games in the cupboard, nice sized tv area and a well set up kitchen with everything you could ever need. For us it was a great room but had a few flaws... The dishes in the kitchen were dirty, the tv remote wasn't working well, the fan in the kids room was rusty and very dirty, the toilet brush was gross, the tv in the main bedroom didn't work and was only able to play DVD's. The manager said there was a sign on it stating that, and there may have been but we didn't see it! Perhaps it could've been mentioned on check in, or a sign put in a more obvious spot. We paid over $200 per night and were happy to pay that because apartments catering to large families are difficult to find, but think if the room was a little cleaner it would have been worth it! As for the complex, it was great! kids had a ball in the spa and pool and games area. a lot of people have reviewed the manager as being rude. Look, she isn't the most personable person in the world, and perhaps needs to smile a little more, but we didn't really have an issue.
Had 2 visits close to each other. Pleased the wifi connection had somewhat improved from previous visits. Still a bit slow when a lot of people in the complex, no problem in quiet season. On site management very friendly and helpful. Really good location for Sunshine Beach. If the wind gets up from the south and you want the beach go to Noosa itself which is more sheltered but busier.
A last minute booking bought us to the Sunseeker Lodges in Noosa. We were travelling from Lone Pine Koala sanctuary and timed it well for the check in time of 2-5pm. Check in took a few minutes and we were handed our keys to apartment number 12 and were directed to the allocated parking underneath the apartment. As mentioned in other reviews there isn't a lift but it's only about 12 steps up to the door. The apartment was huge in comparison to the hotels we stayed at so this was welcomed. There was a nice big living/dining/kitchen area looking at to the balcony which had ocean views. There was a master bedroom with walk in closet and separate toilet/shower. Bedroom 2 had twin beds and a nice big wardrobe. There was a separate toilet and another room housing bath/shower and washer/dryer. These came in handy after travelling for 3 weeks. It's a 5-10 minutes walk down to sunshine beach which is not safe to swim at this entrance but 250m up the beach is patrolled so safe. It was very windy the day we went to the beach so didn't stay too long. The rooms were all clean but basic. We felt the apartment was 'unloved', limescale covered toilet flusher, rusty toilet roll holder and some kitchen utensils weren't clean enough. It wouldn't take a lot to correct these things and make the apartment feel loved again. The kitchen did have everything we needed for our stay. The apartment could be modernised to increase it's star rating and charge a higher price. Shops and restaurants are about 10 mins drive away.
We seldom write reviews but unfortunately felt these circumstances warranted one. After check-in we started to unpack but after opening a cupboard in the bathroom were rather surprised to find a bowl of drugs, tobacco, scissors and used paraphernalia (picture attached). We are quite a liberal couple however found this gravely concerning given this was a family apartment made for 4 children & 2 adults, and the floor level cupboard was in easy reach of any children that could have been staying. We reported this to the owners and rather than the expected apology received a rather extended tale about how they had actually found class A drugs in another apartment (Of which the gentleman’s main concern was that a $50 note had been used to take them and left behind?!) All rather odd. He then asked if we would like it removed (as opposed to not having it removed I assume?), which we agreed would be preferred. While this wasn’t the expected response and we weren’t offered any kind of apology/compensation for the incident, but we didn’t want to spoil our holiday, and once the drugs were removed, decided to let it go (despite the apartment being generally a bit dirty but this was somewhat shadowed by the above – see pictures) A day later we ran out of toilet paper at a rather inconvenient time, however on requesting a spare were told we were not entitled to any further toilet rolls as per the contract. Given the circumstances, we didn’t think this was an unreasonable request, but were told that this had “no connection” with anything that had already happened and needed to go buy some as per the contract. After a re-iterating the issues of the previous day our request was rather grudgingly honored, however accompanied with an explanation that what happened previously was “the cleaners fault” and “people have different life choices that we aren’t to judge” and “it’s unfortunate that it upset us”. Wow. As mentioned above, we are a liberal couple that are pretty relaxed about these matters, however the way in which this was addressed was wholly inappropriate and totally unprofessional. The thought that a child could have found this and the potential consequences was something that horrified us and the attitude of the owners was beyond disgusting. On checking out we mentioned that we had on the whole enjoyed our stay but still found it concerning how the issue was handled, to which the lady shouted loudly “I’m not interested, write a bad review I don’t care!” and stormed out the reception area, leaving us speechless. We felt compelled to write this review not in an act of bitterness or revenge, but to simply warn others of the attitude towards these kind of issues at a family based development. Needless to say we won’t be going back :)
Decided to come here for a weekend getaway with the family. As the room we'd booked was still being renovated we were upgraded to a room with sea views. The place itself was nice and spacious, although appeared a little out dated, one lamp was missing a bulb, and several of the lights wouldn't turn on. The owner was friendly and promptly came to resolve this issue. (Note: the recent storm may have had a part in the light situation). The ocean view was stunning. The beach was accessible via a gate which lead to a long steep walkway (covered with debris from the recent cyclone Debbie), and once there, approx 300m walk to the life guarded area. Overall a beautiful and relaxing getaway.
I've been meaning to review Sunseeker Lodge for a while, as we have stayed there quite a few times - and after another great weekend break about a month ago, I feel I need to spread the good news. Sunseeker Lodge is located on top of the ridge above Sunshine Beach. It's an older complex, and seems to be more spacious than some of the newer unit complexes we have stayed at. The grounds are well kept, and the pool/spa area are right at the front of the complex - overlooking the ocean. We've stayed in a few of the Sunseeker units over the years, and they vary in fit out and view. We try and get Unit 19 - top floor to the left of the pool and amazing uninterrupted views of the ocean. The unit has always been well presented, and the owners have done a recent renovation - new kitchen and bathroom and a lovely feel. The pottery Pelican sculpture is an interesting addition. We like to have breaky at Fratellini's, which is only 5 min walk away, with quite a few other cafes and bars to choose for. Can thoroughly recommend Sunseeker Lodge, and go for Unit 19 if you can.
Beautiful ocean view from our two bedroom and bathroom apartment. Plenty of space for all our family. It had all we needed in the kitchen to make great family meals; comfy beds and air-conditioned lounge/dining area. The pool and spa was lovely and a short walk to the nearby Sunshine beach and surf life saving club. Hosts were friendly and accomodating. A wonderful stay and quiet surroundings away from the busyness of Noosa.
Looking for a short stop following 12 days on beautiful Moreton island we could not find any accommodation in Noosa so we decided to take four nights at Sunseeker. It is a bit dated but in a great location with a laneway access to the beach and a 5 minute walk. The rooms are clean and well equipped .The common ground areas such a stairways needed a sweep and the pool was a bit tired. We were in room 16 with a partial sea view which was excellent. The balcony was a beautiful place to sit but a little small if you had more than 4 people . The gardens were beautifully maintained as were the barbecues. The manager was very friendly and extremely helpful. If you like Noosa but want to get away from the bustle at night then this is the perfect place and the rates are less than Noosa. Sunshine Beach has some great coffee shops check out the roaster on the corner at The Little Cove Coffee Company and the surf club has nice meals.
