The hotel is old and the common areas need a remodel. There is no decor in the common areas, it gives the impression of an abandoned hotel. It doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel at all. It is dirty! There is dirt on the floors of the hallways and the room. Pool is small for the size of the hotel. Lastly, the reception and entrance areas smell like fried food all the time. I would never go back to this place.

The rooms are cozy after a day of skiing. The valet for ski gear was much appreciated. Great service, great good and excellent location. The hotel fitness centre is not up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel, unfortunately.

The location of The Grand was excellent. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The lifts were problematic at times (stairs should be an option) but a very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.

We chose to stay here because it was advertised as ski-in/ski-out and seemed like it would make getting to the mountain easy for our family. However, you’re not allowed to put ski boots on downstairs, which is a significant inconvenience—you have to fully gear up in your room before heading out. For breakfast, I suggest offering a smaller a l crate breakfast less expensive and people will eat there. Dining was also challenging, with very limited healthy food options available. Additionally, restaurant reservations need to be made well in advance, which made meals difficult to plan.

The bad: ski valet is convenient but they put these unsightly stickers on your skis to label them. They didn't remove them afterwards and at home when I took them off, they left an annoying sticky residue. Either get them to clean the stickers off or don't let them put them on your equipment! Otherwise, older but well maintained hotel. Amenities are all functioning: hot tubs are hot, pool decks are clean, fitness equipment is working. Staff is friendly, competent, and efficient.

Check-in was slow, and cleanliness was very poor. We found crumbs and hair in the room, towels and toiletries were insufficient for four guests, and dirty items were not replaced. The pool was dirty, the hot tub didn’t work, and cooked-to-order eggs at breakfast were served cold. Besides the location and room size, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

I booked 3 rooms for 3 nights for my family getaway, we come to Sun Peaks often but this was the worst experience at the Grand hotel so far. From being double or even triple charged for rooms, to staff’s miscommunication about parking, moving our belongings out of our room one night by staff mistake to not cleaning our room and excusing it by the hotel being busy on that day. I paid more than $650 a night per room -at that rate I’d expect better service and staff professionalism.
