Bali Masari Villas & Spa

I meant it. This villa is really different from others. When you enter the lobby, you can see big villas lies underneath in the slope. Directly overlooking the Petanu river, made the surrounding view looks so adorable. I love the atmosphere here in Bali Masari, so quiet, tranquil, and far away from the bustle. Nonetheless, they also provide shuttle bus to drive the guests to the nearby attraction like Sukawati and Ubud which is not too far away from the resort. They already renovated some old buildings, meanwhile, the others are still ongoing, which is a good addition to get their glory back, they are on the move. The staff is very nice and friendly, service was tremendous. The restaurant, including its selection of food and beverages, I'd like to rate 9/10, just need a bit improvement in the variant, otherwise, the taste is already perfect. They have a big infinity pool with the best surrounding view, and also a plunge pool in every villa. The villa building is very big and lovely, we stayed in two bedroom villa and it really feels like home! The living room is big, and every room has a nice bathroom with shower and bathtub inside. I also like the garden they set, it's so neat and beautiful, a perfect place to kiss the nature. Will definitely come back here again someday!

Jupen 5 has recenly undergone a refurbishment and work is currently underway on Jupen 4. Tranquil quiet location, next to the sacred river. Surrounded by nature the Bali Masari is very peaceful. We love the remote location. Blue Bird taxi cost $11.50 AUS to Sanur where we do some early morning shopping and retreat to the Bali Masari as the day heats up. The infinity pool has spectacular views, then we finish the day with drinks on our balcony, a splash in our plunge pool and room service.

This resort needs an injection of money and fast. What was probably once a fine resort is showing signs if age and maintenance neglect. Mould and algae cover walls and paving and the thatching needs replacing. Actually many of the rooftops could be redesigned to give better views across the valley. The restaurant staff were lovely and the food in general was good. The ambiance was dead as often we were the only ones eating. The spa staff......well I didn't get to have a massage as when I was sent down to the spa by reception the girl sent me away saying she wanted to go home and I could come back tomorrow. The pool was the only saving grace of our stay, but unfortunately I could not recommend Bali Masari to anyone until the clean up the place and restore it to it's former glory. Oh and it might help to remove the rubbish from the river banks as it's not a good look.

We were in Villa number 3 for 7 days The Good:- - Peaceful, zen, perfect location for honeymooners - good pool with view over the green lush flora - Service and staff very helpful - room service efficient - menu for room service has a decent choice and food was nice - gardens well looked after - cleanliness of the villa was good - TV5 monde, CNN, HBO available on TV To be improved:- - quite dated. Big potential as the site is unique but the villa was a bit tired. Blinds not working in the living room, bathroom and overall furnitures quite old - plunge pool needs a renovation - overall property needs a serious revamp - make sure you have a taxi handy as once locked on the resort, no way to walk around for restaurants or quick shopping. It's 20-30 min to Ubud centre and the hotel charges USD 35 for a return trip to Ubud. - make sure you have good legs, there's lots of stairs to get to the villa and up to reception. No lift available Final word: Will come and visit again once the Resort goes through a big renovation.

We really enjoyed our stay at these villas. The staff is so accommodating and friendly. Hotel grounds are well kept. Please know, these rooms are not sealed so there are lizards and bugs, inside (didn't bother us). I would suggest stopping at a convenience store to get any drinks/snacks you want to take back to your villa as there is no market really close. The restaurant is awesome, with a decent sized menu, and the room service is so worth it. Also suggest making sure you schedule your trips at least 24 hours in advance through the front desk. It is out of the "tourist" spots but centrally located to most locations you will want to see. So super relaxing.

This villa is little far away from the ubud central (approx 10km). We found less number of taxis around. The hotel was located beside the River covered with greenery all around. Area is little isolated is what we felt. Security was good.. American breakfast is very tasty.. employees in the Villa are helpful and good. AC was little noisy in the bedroom. Our stay was very good but we felt little isolated as very few villas were booked on that day.. nothing bad about the villa but this is what we felt.

Decent stay for short stay over a. Basic breakfast. Lacks a pool if you planning to stay over for 3 or more nights. The staff are excellent and very accommodating. Perfect positioning if you want to be near the beach and shopping and night life.

This place is a bit off the beaten path and is in a super relaxing environment. We actually saw a fair amount of wildlife just walking around the area. The villas are much bigger than anticipated and were furnished well. They were clean and well taken care of by a friendly staff. The outdoor showers were fantastic and we spent a large amount of time on the couches by the infinity pool. Each villa also has it's own soaking pool, but we didn't use it very often. We took advantage of our free 15 minute massages on the last day and we wish we would have booked longer massages. Downfalls - There are a lot of bugs because of the area (lots of ants by the pool), but I think the staff does a good job handling that to the best of their ability. We did find two cockroaches in our bathroom one day, that wasn't fun. There are a lot of stairs, not recommended for someone who has difficulty with stairs. There is a full size refrigerator and microwave, but no stove or oven. The most annoying thing was probably the poor wifi, it was very slow and we were constantly being disconnected from it. It's definitely not a perfect place to stay, but I really enjoyed it. The benefits definitely outweigh the downfalls in my mind.

We checked in and as long as it took us to get down the stairs is as long as we stayed in the room. The whole place is run down and not maintained. The staff were absolutely sympathetic and need accurate reviews so the owner will fix the place up. The mould, peeling paint, rotting door frames and hand rails that were all but ready to fall with any weight put on them was to say the least disappointing. It's not safe with the amount of mould and rotting in the rooms for anyone to stay. The smell was overbearing and certainly not what the images depict. The amazing flowers and clean looking rooms have long since departed and rotted away.

As it is located in village, the environment of the surrounding is fresh and breezing in the morning. Though the private pool is kind of small but then enough to accommodate us. Only down point is we always run out of hot water during our shower time.
