We give credit that they are trying to upgrade the property, but it's like putting lipstick on a pig. The room had be painted and flooring looked new. Downsides: weird & small bathroom - sink and toilet were practically in the shower. There were insufficient electrical outlets, as evidenced when we ran the coffee maker, kettle and TV at the same time: the electrical outlet shorted. There is no artwork in the room. The hallway smelled weird, and the room wasn't much better. It had an old motel AC unit that was very loud; with the current humid weather we didn't have an option not to run it. Our sleep was disturbed. The bed was soft and my partner re-aggravated a hip problem. It looks better on the website than it is. It's not worth what we paid.

Getting its sparkle back!

Excellent location—theatres, restaurants and shops walkable distance. Staff are very friendly and thorough. Building has been renovated without losing its historic charm. I have stayed here before while it was still under its original name. It really needed some care & attention then and I’m thankful for the revitalization of this gem. I can’t wait to return and see the next wave of renovations completed.

Very nice Quaint hotel in the middle of the town. Able to take beautiful walks to everything In the write up it said a breakfast was included it is NOT..so not a pleasant surprise so that was the only disappointment

The staff was especially helpful. My room on the third floor was very nice. The location is great, near shops, restaurants, and the Avon theatre. The only problem is parking. The hotel has a very small parking lot. Be sure to book ahead. I have a handicapped tag so I was able to park on the street. I recommend this hotel.

Excellent location in Stratford--we walked to three theaters for Shakespeare performances while in Stratford. Lots of good dining choices nearby. Rooms were very quiet and clean, and staff were very helpful.

My complaint is with Expedia. I kept getting these Null.Expedia text messages on my phone. I did not book the room through my phone so I was very suspicious that these messages were spam and it was a trap by a party other than Expedia tto get money out of me. Since this happened I will not use Expedia again.

The staff were great, the place was just terribly understaffed. Most of the time there was no one at the desk and no one available to answer the phone when we called a few times. They would call back, but maybe hours later. There were no washrooms available in the lobby but one was available in the cafeteria which was under construction and very smelly. Friends felt unsafe with no one physically watching the front door.

No WiFi, no parking, poorly done Reno. GFCI not working in bathroom. Poorly done reno. Been coming to Stratford for 20+ yrs, I know what to expect..this was beyond poor. Thank god the plays were good. Reached out to the hotel no reply after a week. Hopefully they fix the room we were in before the next guest.

Hotel lobby is undergoing renovation but rooms have been updated. Nice rooms but small - just fine as a place to sleep and keep your stuff. Bathroom is small but functional, nice tiled shower enclosure. Location is great - a stone's throw from City Hall/Market Square and the Avon Theatre, one block from Ontario (main) Street shops. On-site parking is very limited and costs $20 per day. Tip: if mobility is not an issue (and the weather is good) there is a huge, free parking lot a five minute walk away.

Stayed here for two nights and everything was great. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and nice to sleep in. The room that I was in had some wifi connection issues but otherwise the room and everything we needed. Location is great for walking to many different stores and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again when I travel to Stratford.
