We stayed here for 3 nights and weren't disappointed. Nicole on reception was very friendly and helpful and our room was cozy (but slightly compact). We were in the main building. Car Parking plentiful. Pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna were hardly used by anyone - in fact we were the only ones I saw using them in the 3 days we were there. Slept incredibly well each night in a comfy and clean room. The AC unit was very noisy though, but you can open the window. Laundry room was easy and quick to use ($1 for a wash, $1.25 for a dry) and also an ice machine which was welcome. Shame the bar/restaurant is being refurbed and they seem to say this will be ready in December, although we saw no works going on whilst we were there. Also well ,located and only a short walk to many restaurants and bars
We were in Stowe for only one night. Our stay in this Inn was very nice. The room was a bit small but it was just what we needed and very clean and comfortable. Only negative was the bed pillows were a bit hard. Would have no problem staying at the Inn on a return trip.
My husband and I spent one night in Stowe and choice the Grey Fox Inn. We were so disappointed. First check-in wasn't that smooth. The clerk didn't seem to know much. The room was very very very small. And not very well maintained or cleaned. There was leftover soap from a previous visitor left in the shower. The parking lot needed some work. It was a bit of a muddy mess because of the rain. In fact there was a mud hole in front of the entrance. Thankfully the windows opened. There was no air conditioner that worked. Hopefully the Grey Fox will come up to par soon.
Beautifully appointed room with near to full kitchen. Get snowed in here forever! Large TV and fireplace. Such a lovely, peaceful location in the heart of Stowe Vermont. Clean and refreshing. Can’t wait to have a cuppa on the balcony overlooking a natural environment. Beautiful in the Fall. Will be a regular visit on my mother / daughter annual New England road trip.
Such a cute, cozy Vermont Inn! We were so pleasantly surprised by the almost-full kitchen in our room & the beautiful fireplace. The room had an energy of calm & serenity. Not to mention, when we arrived, the girl at the desk was so lovely & answered all of our questions with such kindness. The Inn is located right in the heart of the most charming little town filled with shops, restaurants & beautiful views. My mom & I travel through Vermont every year. It’s something we look forward to from the moment our trip ends until it begins again the next year. This spot will leave a lasting memory of an awesome stay for us. Thank you!
We stayed in the efficiency units towards the back. Very quite and the rooms where clean and the kitcheneet well stocked. Spoiler alert, the fireplace is just fake light and phony logs. I guess my impression is that the main Lodge is old and tired looking. The grounds could use some TLC. For the money I was look elsewhere, but the rooms were very well done.
We stayed during British Invasion. No restaurant but there is a bakery right beside hotel and 2 grocery stores to the other side. Within walking distance to downtown area. Overall nice, quiet stay. We were in the main building.
I stayed here for one night and will be happy to return. The receptionist was friendly, the room was nice and clean and the location was good as I could walk 5 mins to a bar nearby (the Bench) which served great food and beer. The restaurant was under construction but there we many places nearby to get breakfast.
We spent a few days in Stowe in the middle of August. We stayed at the Grey Fox Inn and we were pleasantly surprised by the newly renovated room and the new outdoor pool an patio. You could tell that the owners are really working hard to upgrade the facilities and are really doing a good job at it. We had the "One King Mountain View Room" and even thought this room does not have a balcony, the view from the room is gorgeous. You can watch the sunset over the mountains directly from your bed while enjoying a cold drink and looking at the fireplace ! The location is perfect, within walking distance of lots of nice restaurants and the recreational path is accessible from the back of the hotel. You can take a nice stroll directly to the village and back. There are lots of breweries to visit in the area and you are just a short drive from the top of the mountain. I will definitively go back the next time I will be in Stowe.
We would highly recommend staying here! After checking into another motel in the area, and being very disappointed, we had the good fortune of meeting Neil, our waiter, at one of the restaurants. He told us his wife worked at Grey Fox Inn and that we should stop in the next day and see his wife Nicole. Not only was our room clean, comfortable and charming, but the inn has just been newly renovated, the view from our little deck looked onto the bike path. Two pools & a large hot tub as well. Mostly, it was the warm, friendly and accommodating personalities of Nicole, Neil, and staff! They are truly amazing! We will be back!
