Had a wonderful stay at this cozy, comfortable, clean cabin! The small lake is beautiful, peaceful, quiet and serene. Equipped with all that you need. Listing just as described. Communication with the host excellent. This is a new, quality built cabin with comfortable beds, bedding and furniture. We regretted not being able to stay longer and already looking for dates to return!

Another great stay at The Little Sand Lodge

This was our second year renting the Little Sand Lodge for the American Birkebeiner cross country ski races. We like the quiet and peaceful location of the cabin and a short drive to Hayward. The cabin is comfortable and well stocked. The kids loved the loft and everyone made good us of the ping pong table. I found the house guide for our phones very useful during our stay, any questions that we had we were able to find on the app.

The cabin was perfect for our family of ten to spend the weekend. It fit all of us comfortably and had everything we needed. The location was close to the wedding venue we attended. The setting was great for taking some family pictures too.

Little Sand Lake Lodge

We had another great stay at the Little Sand Lake Lodge! Everything was clean and ready to use, check in and check out went smoothly. Very nice little lake to paddle on and fish, feels private.

Great place to stay!

Very happy with this house...clean, well stocked with supplies and games. Owner was very good about responding to messages from the time we started looking at booking the place. Would recommend if visiting this area.

A Terrific Two Nights

We had the opportunity to spend two terrific nights at Little Sand Lodge. The cabin was spotless and sat on the beautiful shore of Little Sand Lake. We had everything we needed to ensure a great stay up north, and I would return to visit again in a heartbeat!!

Great cabin on the lake

Very nice cabin, great location, nice fire pit with plastic Adirondack chairs. House was clean and tidy, kitchen wares were adequate for preparing a few meals. Loft does get warmer than the rest of the house (which is expected) and is not a quiet place for early to bed folks. Excellent house, we would stay again

Perfect Northwoods Retreat

We had a great week at Little Sand Lodge! The cabin is beautiful, clean and well-appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I was grateful that we were able to to bring our dogs - would HIGHLY recommend!!

Weekend getaway

We stayed for a long weekend as a little getaway from our busy lives. The cabin was great and exactly as described. The cabin was clean, new and nice. We really liked the quietness and small town feel of the area too.

Easy check-in and lovely, pristine cabin that smells like cedar. New, well-equipped and comfortable with great views on a quiet lake. We really enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks, as well as the flat top grill,fire pit and ping-pong table. Very nice kitchen with big island. Reliable internet.Easy short drive to Hayward and Spooner. Highly recommended!

Great get away!

We will definitely stay at this lake home again! It was extremely clean and well appointed with all the amenities you need. The beds were all very comfortable and the layout worked well for a family with teenagers. Ping pong was definitely a fun added bonus!

The house was a amazing! Very clean and modern amenities. Just wish the lake was a little bigger and room for a boat, but very nice. The kayaks were nice but the seats were broke. We loved it!

Great house

This was our first time renting from O'Connel cabins and it was a great experience. The house was comfortable, extremely clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We had never been to Stone Lake before and we really liked the area. Our dog had a great time exploring the trails and the area around the house. We didn't let him go down by the lake as we weren't sure of the ice, but in the summer he would have a great time in the lake. A beautifully well built house and a wonderful get-away for us all.

Family togetherness

We enjoyed our stay at Brads cabin. It was a beautiful place. It was clean with everything you needed to make wonderful memories with your family. He communicated and answered any questions quickly. We used the kayaks he had available and sat on the deck for coffee often. The ping pong table was a hit. We had a wonderful time and would stay at one of his cabins again.

Simply fantastic

This is our second time staying at one of this host's properties and we will continue to come back. We had 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids) and it works out perfectly. It feels like home. Just pack food, clothes, and some beverages and you have everything you need supplied for a perfect stay at the lake. Love the kayaks, the grill, fire pit, arcade games, the board games, etc. Fishing off the dock is a lot of fun. No keepers this time but lots of sunnies for the kids to reel in and get excited about. Our kids (and us) are already looking forward to next year. Thanks to the hosts for an amazing property!

ice fishing trip

never been to stone lake in february with no snow but this was a tear of firsts. despite the beautiful weather 40+ and thinning ice 6-11 inches we had a great year yet again. the cabin was great beds for everyone and all the amenities of home, and easy access to little sand lake which took advantage of several days made our trip successful.plenty of parking and made friends with the neighbors. this was a perfect place for our group and hope to come back again

Perfect location

The house is in a great location, minutes to quaint stone lake, and a short drive to Hayward. You get the best of both worlds, away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to get to enjoy it! Great views of the lake, kayaks and canoes were nice to be able to use! Downstairs games kept the kids entertained for hours! Everything was well stocked and very clean! You could tel they out a lot of thought into making sure they’re guests were comfortable! Sitting by the fireplace with the lake in the back was a perfect view to end the days. Highly recommend!!

Great fall getaway

The house is great! We went on an ATV/UTV trip the best part is you can leave right from the house and get on the trails. The house has basically everything you need the pots and pans where great for cooking and the best part is having a washer and dryer! And they supply the soap. My wife forgot her hair dryer so we thought we where going to have to drive to the store nope they had one. The only downside to the house is the lake isn’t swimmable very muddy to get to the dock/use the cano or kayak very shallow lake. And the neighbors house is really close to you. But overall 10 out of 10 would stay again

This property was clean & well cared for. Our family had no issues during our stay. A generous amount of hand soap, dish soap, toilet paper, dishwasher tabs & laundry soap were provided. We also appreciated the provided bags for cleaning up dog droppings. Outdoors, we enjoyed fishing, & use of the canoe & kayaks. We had a couple of campfires, using the provided firewood. Listening to the call of the loons was peaceful & the beauty of the blooming lily pad flowers was lovely. It was nice to watch the wildlife near the dock, such as beavers & ducks, & the sunsets were beautiful. We didn’t swim in the lake, but the water was clear to where you could see from the dock fish swimming. Indoors, the ping pong table was a lot of fun & the use of a YouTube TV subscription was a nice added bonus. The beds were very comfortable, & the bedrooms were spacious with beautiful views out the windows. The appliances were nice & worked well & the air conditioning kept the house feeling comfortable.We enjoyed exploring the area, as well as locations that were further away for a day trip. We visited the shops in Stone Lake & especially liked The Whistle Punk. Hayward was where we went for groceries. We also found it was worth while visiting the Ojibwe reservation in Hayward. Our favorite part of Hayward was attending the Lumberjack Show. Further away, we took day trips to Hudson & Bayfield, WI, & Duluth, MN.We would definitely recommend this property to families & would love to return someday.
