Great nights sleep

Lady who checked us in was really helpful, nothing was too much trouble even though she was really busy. Restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly. There was a long gap between our starter and getting our main meal which was the only downside. We had to ask for the child’s meal to be brought as it was getting quite late. Food was hot and tasty when it was eventually served. Booking a slot in the pool was easy. Our room was clean, well stocked with toiletries, tea and coffee and the beds were very comfy. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the team at Josiah's Brasserie. Sofa beds in the family room were not particularly great for older children. If we were to return we would elect for interconnecting rooms instead of a family room.

I’ve got no complaints regarding the standard and cleanliness of the hotel over all, it was lovely. the room was also lovely and had everything we needed other than a fridge. My only winge is on a day that was around 28/29 Degrees the room temp was also set at 29, I turned it off after a lot of guess work ) but even with 2 fans and the windows open the room remained uncomfortably hot all night. We tried out the leisure suite, The pool was busy but was really nice and you got enough time in there. We also tried the restaurant, most of the food was good and you got plenty but the beetroot started was a disappointment, the beetroot was really hard. I got it for myself and my daughter to share as she loves beetroot and she couldn’t eat it so sat with nothing until mains arrived. Apparently the Double tree’s signature feature is a chocolate chip cookie on check in, it was a shame that there were no cookies in sight as it was my cookie mad 5yr old daughters birthday and it would have made hers and her brothers day receiving one after a really long drive.

Fantastic place to stay We went as a family with children 11 and 14 who enjoyed the pool after a long day at Alton Towers The only down fall or negative point would be the toilet roll in the rooms were awful and cheap that needs looking into. Otherwise a fantastic stay and I’ll be staying again sometime.

NO AC in the bedrooms. For a modern looking hotel, this is unacceptable. With the windows opening a centermeter or two, the room was an unbearable 27c. A small fan was all the hotel could offer. I had no soap in the bathroom and it took 2hours of asking muliple tomes before the front reception would give me soap. Breakfast was the typical hotel items, but having to ask and offten wait lengthy periofs for items to be replaced. Overall, a VERY VERY POOR experience and I most certainly will not be experiencing that hotel again.

Really nice hotel, large bar and dining area with plenty of seating. Car parking plenty as well. Staff were polite and friendly. Pool area was nice, with steam room and sauna. Free padlock for the lockers from the pool reception. Food was really nice and plenty full, portions sizes were good even the kids meals. Breakfast was nice with food variety. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable, bathroom on the small side but ok. The only issues we had was the cleanliness of the cutlery, there was still residue of food on the folks and knifes and had to ask staff to change our cutlery, this was also noted withing the cutlery tub at breakfast. Overall good experience.
