This hotel is pet friendly, and we had no problem checking in with our dog. However, dog owners should note that there aren't any grass on the hotel grounds and you may have to walk around if your dog is picky about where to do their business. The hotel also looks older in reality than on the pictures online. It looks like it came straight out of movies in the early 90s, with outdated furniture and dirty carpets. The bed was extremely hard and gave me back pain, and the hair conditioner in our room was a half used bottle from another hotel (probably left behind by the previous person who stayed). Overall, I feel like the price tag wasn't justified given the condition of the room and lack of free breakfast.

Older facility on outskirts of downtown Stamford. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms are clean and well maintained if somewhat older. Fine for a one-night stop on business.

I stayed here one night. I would come again. Great room at excellent price. The hotel gave me a good feeling overall.

It is value for money. Location is good and price is reasonable

The staff is very polite and friendly! Their room was very clean and the internet service very fast

I thought it was a great price for what you got. There was newer refrigerator, microwave, and flatscreen TV with a lot of channels. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. Easy walk downtown and easy to get to off I-95. The bed wasn't comfortable and the continental breakfast hardly had anything. The hotel was a little outdated and there was an incense or candle burning in the lobby that gave me a headache. I'll be in the area again for business and I'll stay here again.

I was only there for a one night business trip so I really didn't get a full feel of the hotel but what I did notice was that the staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean and the shuttle service was convenient.

This hotel is very very old. My fists observation was the dirty carpet in the lobby. I asked to look at the rooms and tried to get out of the deal. When I found out that it was nonrefundable, I stayed. The room was gloomy, but adequate. There was a stain on the floor. Elevators are clunky and scary. No TV in breakfast room and the breakfast left a lot to be desired. Frozen Waffles and only juice was the orange. The bathroom was clean. I could tell that the workers had recauked the tub.and the bottom of the tub was yellow. The bath and the TV was the best part of the room. Better deals North on I-95.

Nice staff but a bit dated, accoustic tiles on ceiling etc. Microwave and fridge in room.

The room was clean, quiet and peaceful. The evening staff member was a bit grumpy but the gal in the morning went way above and beyond to solve a VERY minor issue. Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy but certainly plenty of food.

We were in Stamford for a family reunion and stayed five nights. The hotel is centrally located and walking distance from the mall, restaurants and downtown. The train station is a few blocks away for easy access to NYC. The room was clean and spacious. The towels were more fluffy than most similar hotels. Wireless internet access was very good and easy to use. The room AC was somewhat inadequate and the continental breakfast was less than average. Staff were friendly and accommodating and allowed us to extend our checkout time one hour. Overall, it was a great value relative to other options in Stamford.

The check in was very quick but the man at the desk was a bit mean.

Room was clean, hotel staff was very helpful with directions and dining reccomendations.

CLEAN PLACE,WIRELESS INTERNET, GOOD VALUE

Courteous and professional staff. Great price. Very clean and quiet hotel. Located in downtown Stamford.Subway station just around the corner. Dining and shopping within walking distance. Excellent nights sleep. Extremely relaxed atmosphere.

A West Point Grad's wedding. First time to Stamford. Enjoyed the town, enjoyed the hotel as it met the need. Two suggestions: The AC/Heat unit was a little noisy even when it "wasn't running", which I could not figure out why. The bathroom, although we were in a non-smoking room, smelled of cigarette smoke. Neither the wife or I smoke and we both have very good/sensitive noses so most may not pick up on the odor, but both of us did.

This was our stopping point on a trip to New York City around Christmas time. The price is an excellent value since it comes with a room furnished with modern amenities, a courteous, professional staff, a sizeable continental breakfast and a great location. It is not a five-star luxury hotel, but unlike competitors in the same price range, it is obvious that the Amsterdam strives to be.

We went to visit elderly family members we can't visit as often as we would like due to limited income. [...]

clean friendly quiet ...enjoyed the morning snacks and coffee

The staff at the hotel were professional and very welcoming. The Amsterdam is up the hill from the more expansive hotels but has comfortable, clean rooms and a helpful staff that awaits you. The continental breakfast was served in a sunny room on the first floor with piping hot coffee, fresh, and toast, cereal, pastries and bagels. My business partner and I were very happy with our stay
