Amsterdam Hotel is very conveniently located and very reasonably priced. The rooms, carpets, bedspreads etc. are a little shopworn, but everything is clean, efficient, and the staff is very friendly.

This is an older affordable hotel. The room was very clean. Everything worked except the tub stopper. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is free onsite parking. A basic continental breakfast. It is convenient to the metro north station. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Fast food and convenience stores are walkable.

They would do themselves a huge favor by replacing the Motel 6 looking bedspreads. They make the room seem gross. The bed was awful… couldn’t sleep on it. Water in shower was either scalding hot or too cold. Bananas were overripe… ALL of them, EVERY DAY. That’s all I could eat from that breakfast so no breakfast for me.

The hotel is older and not at all fancy, but the room was very spacious and it was clean. It had that "old-fashioned" historic hotel sort of feel to it. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate, but it would have been nice to have some protein options (hard boiled eggs and yogurt are typically available at most of the continental breakfasts I've had at other hotels, but this hotel only had carbs -- bread, muffins, sugary cereals, bagels, toaster-waffles). Coffee was decent, but some non-dairy creamer would have been nice to have since I'm lactose intolerant. Overall a decent stay, but could have been better.
